<Sorry guys, got busy then tired yesterday. NPCs are up in both settings. You have been waiting on me.>
The crowd sees a dustman start to float, then Sam attacks with a slash that roars with the impact of a thunderclap, killing the man instsntly.
(RAW, this is funny becasue in SCAG, the spell used a Verbal component, but in Tasha's it switched to Somatic, that (as I understand it) would need a free hand, not for the material but for the somatic component. For our purposes, the difference is moot: whether by sight or by sound, a crowd of witnesses just saw Sam cast an arcane spell (most of them won't know a cantrip from a leveled spell).
Gasps and shouts feom the crowd ensue: "Arcanaist! Kill it! Kill it, Now" The man who was speaking to Angus looks concerned, then shouts angrily "Bollocks! It's merely an enchanted sword!" Looking around, he alters his tone, "Anybody want to buy a bet on the lizard?"
While the floating man screams his head off, the two men who threw their spears search a pile of junk for an improvised weapon and try to find options for cover
Searching: D6 17, D9 4
The armed dustmen surround Sam, stabbing at him once again (two are suffering injuries from the first round, the one thst just died was at full health before the booming blade.)

@Legion4: I'll post the map. I guess you can do the warpriest BA. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I also don't know where the radiant damage came from, so unless it's from another BA, I think it's fine. We may need to retcon slightly if someone goes down. It would just be a shuffle of one of the dustmen that did not attack this round grabbing the fallen man's spear.
<Sam can still use his BA and Angus is up. Since I'm botting him, I'll wait for Sam, but if he is available to post, @Rob can post without waiting. Chadderlay follows, and if he would like can also post already or wait for Angus at his discretion.>

(@Wile_E_Coyote, I'm not picturing the wolfbrothers as 'wolves', your description regarding their form is comprehensible. Gravity is just trying to knock the wolfbrother prone. Why not use the force of gravity to negate fall damage for Gravity but let the criminal suffer?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Well, unless you csn remember rhe mechanic I pulled out last time, I'm just going ro give the wolf 3 and Gravity is not prone.
The wolf not crushed under Gravity's weight attacks the artificer: shortsword 23 for 9 and make a DC 15 Con save for half of 20 poison damage.
The other wolfbrother, restrained under Gravity's begins to contort it's form, as it writhes about on the cold salty cobblestone, thick black fur grows from his hands, face and neck. His clothes fit poorly as he bats them away from his lupine form. Within seconds, Gravity is sitting upon a wolf enraged in human clothes, sized for the man the wolf once was. (That takes a full action, so no attempts to break free of restrained or make any attacks).
Angus prays an unfamiliar prayer to the ears of the Mulman who surround him. They pay him no mind as they clamor over the arcane reptile in the fighting pit below. Though invisible to onlookers, a holy light radiates from Angus' solar plexus, extending like a gently pseudopod, not guided by sight, but seeking Sam's soul, undulating on the current of spirits following the signal like a chemotactic beacon, inexorably arching out to meet the great scaled ranger. Upon touching his broad back, Sam's form is enveloped by the phagosomatic radiance and as it does so he feels no fear; quite the opposite, in fact. He feels powerful: as if the world serpent, itself hangs upon his shoulders, encircling his arms, his legs, his every muscle and sinew and feeding its strength directly to its champion, for all that the mighty Ouroboros* represents on this mortal coil, Samogri, the Primus Tyrannus, will defend, will fight, will conquer.
*Ouroboros is a title, but eponymous to this singular entity
shield of faith (+2 bonus to AC for duration, concentration 10 minutes).
Chadderlay is up.
Gravity is up.
If Tesservett gets a chance, were still not sure where Tetrevess is spending the evening. We can start thst as soon as I find out his plans.
<quick aside. If you feel rudderless, like you do t know where you're 'supposed' to go or what to do, that's the sandbox. The mission has been hinted at by two NPCs at least, but it's about to unfurl plainly. Thanks for your patience, though the choice was deliberate. I acknowledge it can be frustrating, especially as pbp stretched things over days and weeks.>
Gravity is still up. She's sitting on a wolf in assassins clothing snd she's been wounded. Halflings lie bloodied on the ground.
Chadderlzy is also up: he's got a guy floating 30ft in the air and the money is now set 1000 to 1 against Sam surviving. The voices in the crowd will tell you as much.
Gravity will disengage to let the transformed wolfbrother move freely. She attempts to settle the dispute by saying, "I didn't mean to disrupt your actions. I just wanted to get involved in the plundering, you know?"She will pick up the woolen cloak soaked in melted ice so that she can equip it. "I consider myself as one of the wolfbrothers too. You wouldn't want to hurt a fellow comrade, would you?"

The human-form wolfbrother stands aghast: "A she-wolf.. brother? Was the name not clear enough? Our blessing will not to be diluted. Have you not the scent? You will never be one of us and you have failed to heed our warnings. You shall not leave this alley alive!"
Both he and the wolf pounce on Gravity:
Short sword: 14 for 9 pierci g and DC 15 for ½ of 31 poison damage
14 for 6 pierci g and DC 15 for ½ of 31 poison damage
Bite: 21 for 9 piercing and make a DC 12 Con save
Claw: 15 for 7 slashing
(Is Gravity taking the wolfbrother's cloak?)
<round 1 to hit with AD was 24 (assassinate), please make a DC15 save against poison for that and either of these shortsword attacks that hit, as well, plus DC12 for the bite if it hits.>
@Legion4 I did answer 'yes' to the war priest ability, but never gave you an verbal answer (left it to the map) re: AoO, which is a 'no' for the 3 thst moved into a line (phalanx) nor does the guy 30ft up (voluntary movement only).

Chadderlay's turn depends on a clarification:
If 4 or more of the Dustmen are lined up and Chadderlay can move and cast Lightning Bolt to target 4 or more, then he will.
DEX save DC 17 or take 23 lightning damage. Half damage for a successful save.
Otherwise he will target a different Dustmen that is engaged with Sam, lifting that Dustman 30 feet into the air.
Spellcasting ability: 11 contested by their STR.
This would result in the current floating Dustman dropping onto another as I switch targets (something the spell allows my to do each round).
(For the DM: So if I cannot get 4 or more targets in line for a Lightning Bolt... then hopefully I can drop Dustman 1 onto Dustman 2 and hoist up Dustman 3. Not trying to take out everyone but maybe for a round or two I can disrupt their coordinated attack by dropping one onto another and maybe those 2 are prone, while the 3rd floats in the air?)

@Brian_Avery: there are 3 in a line. See below. I believe I understand your intent.👍
"Whoooaaahhh!" The falling dustman reels as he plummets to the sodden floor, landing upon the adjacent man with a crash and a splash. Both men laying prone, the man farthest in line from the crushed dustman begins to rise toward rhe ceiling "Aaah-aahhh. Sorcery!" He points an angry finger at Sam and hurls his spear at him.

Socket will impose disadvantage on the first attack against Gravity (Deflect Attack: Reaction)
Gravity will cast Shield to deflect the shortsword attack from round 2.
