Zale raises an eyebrow at Calvin. After looking at him for a moment, she rolls her eyes and says, "Fine, if it makes you feel better go ahead. But i'm tellin ya, i be fine." She sits up from investigating the body and begrudgingly lets the druid look her over. She doesn't look to happy about it, but she's hoping it will get the others to drop the subject assuming Calvin doesn't find anything.
Nixi stands and backs away from the chest. "There's several different things going on with that chest, I couldn't puzzle them all out, but it's definitely not your ordinary poisoned-needle sort of gimmick. I suspect it may be something powerful. I think we should either leave it alone, or be very prepared for something big if we decide to open it."
"Well Zale," Khessa conceeds "since you're our trap specialist, as far as I'm concerned you can do as you see fit. If you'd rather tinker with the chest now, no problem, go ahead and do it now".
"If we decide to rest and you can try the forging," the blonde arcane warrior tells to Eric "I'd say try an handaxe. It is mostly made of metal, has a decent range and also makes for an emergency melee weapon or for a good secondary weapon. But if Zale challenges the chest now, let's of course wait for her. From the opposite side of the room, maybe".
Out of concern for Zale, Calvin turns back into his human form.
"Are you sure you are alight, Zale?" Calvin asks. "I am well educated in medicine. It is part of the reason why I originally joined the group. If you would permit it, I would like to examine you."
(If Zale permits, Medicine: 19)
There doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong with her. But you do know that mental problems can have physical effects.
Once Calvin has finished his examination of Zale, he announces, "Okay, you seem to be physically fine. However, I do think that you need rest. I think we all could do with a moment to sit and recuperate from the fight."

Zale frowns, she doesn’t think resting is going to help with whatever is going on with her head. In fact, thinking back on the dream she had before they left, she wouldn’t be surprised if it made it worse. Once again she shrugs it off, “Let me at least look at the thing, maybe see what kind of key it takes.” She says as she stands up, “Perhaps one of you should see if this guy has the key” She kicks the half dragon’s body, then walks back over to examine the chest more thoroughly.
Nixi backs away from the chest and across the room nervously as Zale approaches it. "I got a good look at it, Z. It's wired six ways to Tuesday, please be careful."

Well... it's locked... You'll need a key or you can pick the lock. You don't notice any traps, but given that it'... well... in here, it's probably trapped. Maybe not force it, but a good "pick" might trick the trap(s?) that you're using a key.
Khessa tries to follow Zale's advice and checks the bodies of all the fallen. Do they have anything interesting? Including maybe a key that could open the chest?
If she finds a key, she handles it to the dragonborn rogue.
Anyway, after that she keeps distance from the chest, ideally reaching the furthest point from which she still can see, maybe the opposite wall.

That would be the SE corner. There's also the stairs to east to the next room. And a passage to the SW.

Oh, well, Khessa is content on staying in the SE corner. She does not want to leave the room, she is just hoping to stay out of range of eventual chest traps while still keeping an eye on Zale (in case of trouble).
Zale nods to Nixi, “well I’m still gonna try to open this thing.” She’s clearly frustrated about something, but she’s determined to get this thing open. “As I said, I’m feeling ding right now. I’m sure if it hurts me to bad one o ya can help me out.”
Whiping out her Thieves tools she gets to work on the lock.
The chest opens with a soft "click". Inside are a string of pearls , a gold-and-sapphire ring, and a pouch containing a half-dozen masterfully cut and polished precious stones.
"YES!" Zale exclaims shooting her hands over her head. "There be some loot in 'ere!" She sorts through the collection of treasures. It's not exactly what she was looking for, but at least it's something. "We'll have to split these after this is over.....unless they belong to the people of Greenest that is..." She pockets the gems, then takes out the ring and the pearls and examines them, wondering if they have any magical properties like the ugly things Eek had given her.

“I could use a bit of a rest.” Kriv gestures towards the large wounds from the fight.

"You've spoken wisely Zale" Eric laugh while examines the treasure himself
"If we are not in a hurry," Khessa comes near "I can tell you whether some of this items has magic in it or not"
And with that she starts a mysterious, rythmic chant, elegantly gesturing with her fingers...
