(The captain is adorned with wolf furs and other wolf parts and icons adrons his armor and clothing. You find a bloody sack amongst his possesions. It contains a severed head, it has pointy ears.
You also find 12 silver a greatsword and a javalin)
Zeminny will pocket the silver, take the wolf furs and wrap up the great sword and Javelin to show the others. He will then lift the severed head up and see if any of the fellas that were attacked recognize the former owner
Thank you Khessa and Eric! And your other friends! I will never forget what you've done for me! It might be a good idea to join your caravan, haha! I'l need those horses anyway!
Samardag buys some horses for outrageous prices from other merchants. However he seems happy to pay up. Looking at his merchandise... Perhaps someone who hauls crates of expensive, fragile porcelain in a bouncing, jarring wagon along the Trade Way must be a born optimist. In the days that follow you get the know him better. Odds are he would be a wealthy man if he hung onto his money, but he is a soft touch for every urchin and hard-luck story that crosses his path. In Samardag’s world, the sky is always blue, the weather is always fine, and the outlook for tomorrow is always bright. Others call him Samardag the Hoper.
In the days that follow Khessa is increasingly happy to have helped save such a person who is so empathetic towards others.
'How much more beautiful would the world be if there were more people like him?' the blonde arcane warrior finds herself occasionally thinking 'Him... and Eric, of course! He saved a good person from death, and acted like it was the most natural thing in the world... 'Duty', he says... If there were more people who feel doing that is a 'duty'...'
The tall adventuress also tries to find out from Samardag (since he is a merchant, therefore a person who travels more than the average) on any news of recent drow raids (such as the one that destroyed Twardens, her village - to possibly understand if there is a group of drow particularly active in a certain area), but it is more to leave no stone unturned, than because of any real hope of coming across useful information.
"I think you are a rare and precious person, Samardag the Hoper" she once tells him. "Someone might have told you every now and then that odds are you would be a wealthy man if you hung onto your money - but I think instead that you have got quite a rich soul, a soul that is worth much more than mere money. As long as you travel with us, if you need me, don't hesitate to give me a call. After we part ways... unfortunately you won't be able to contact me anymore - but if one day I should ever come to know that you are in need or in trouble, I will try to reach you and help" and she squeezes his hand in friendship.
Zale decides from now on she will not try to ride into battle. Not without more practice anyways... Not that she has s choice since her mount was likely sold to this Samardag guy. Nevertheless, she remains in good spirits as well. She had at least landed one good hit after all.
Dismounting, she will search whatever bodies Zemminy left.
Investigation: 15
After cleaning her gear, she sheaths her rapier and resumes her post walking near her employer's wagon. She watches her companions interact with the rescuers and smiles. Khessa sure does get along with just about anyone...though she seems awfully close with Eric lately...or maybe she's just reading into it to much. Though the way she looks at him...and he looks at her...sometimes reminds her of a certain Kobold....The rouge shivers. pshh, yeah she's just reading into things, they're all friends here. And even if those to do get together, there ain't nothin wrong with that. Right? Right. Nothin at all, so long as they both stay alive and happy. She suddenly feels weary as she looks at her companions, her new crew...she must keep them all alive and happy.
During the next days, Eric would spend some time with Samardag as well, talking about their previous journeys and eventually sharing some raw beer from their supplies....

Day 9
No problem. During one of those moments Samardag suddenly calls out: Look! Eagles! We must be getting closes to the Trollclaws! Looking up you'll see 2 creatures circling at an high altitude. Khessa and Eric, make a Nature check.
Zale glances at her employer, then at the circling birds noting Isidore approaching them. Looking back at her employer, she states, "The other guards seem to have taken interest in those birds and I ain't sure why. I'mma go up there n see what they're goin on about. Ye fine with that?"

At first your not really sure, but your god gives you a moment of insight. It's the head that gives it away.
Those are Perytons! And what you know about them: The peryton is a bizarre creature that blends the body and wings of a bird of prey with the head of a stag. Its strangest feature is its shadow, which appears humanoid rather than reflecting the creature’s physical form.
A peryton’s reproductive cycle depends on the heart of a freshly killed humanoid. The organ must be consumed by a female peryton before she can reproduce. When a peryton consumes a heart, its shadow changes for a brief time to reflect its true monstrous form.
When attacking a humanoid, a peryton is single-minded and relentless, fighting until it or its prey dies. If a peryton is somehow driven away, it stalks lost prey from afar, attacking again when the opportunity arises.
Although this monstrous carnivore feeds on any creature, it prefers humanoids, especially Elves, Half-Elves, and Humans. When it kills a humanoid, a peryton rips out its prey’s heart and takes it back to its nest to be devoured.
Looking around, you'll notice that you're surrounded by Humans.
"Hold on!" the dwarf says loudly indicating the creature circling up into the sky "they are not eagles, they are Perytons, they are man-eaters creatures, better not drive their attention over us" afters have said so the dwarf warns the caravan's leader directly, with the same words.
'Silly me! I, like Samardag, thought they were eagles...' Khessa thinks, after the dwarf cleric's revelation 'Thank goodness Eric has enough wisdom to distrust appearances and recognize the dangers!'
"Let's keep an eye on them, then, Eric..." the blonde arcane warrior prepares herself for the worst "I'm afraid that Nixi has sent Isidore towards them, probably to verify what they were... so she could, unintentionally, have attracted their attention... If I see them gliding towards us, I try to move in their direction, so as to stay between them and the caravan... perhaps, seeing me isolated, they will glide on me - unaware of the fact that, between this" she eloquently touches the sturdy metal armor "and my magic, I'm not very easy to hit. And when they come down to attack me we can react and kill them".
And the tall adventuress begins to do exactly as she said. She keeps an eye on the Perytons and, if they appear to glide towards the caravan, she tries to detach from the caravan and go towards them as 'bait' (maybe also sending a fiery welcome, if they come in 120' range).
Calvin looks up in wonder at the flying creatures. He is not aware of any lizards that can fly, but the idea of flying is something that inspires a sense of wonder in him.

Hard to tell... Could be eagles? You're not quite sure.
Hmm? Oh right, go ahead. The Dwarf replies.
