If Khessa runs in the middle of the centipedes and casts Sword Burst, how many of them can she affect? Just evaluating strategy...
Ok, so as not to hold up the thread... one of these options:
If Khessa, by positioning herself appropriately and casting Sword Burst, can affect 5 or more enemies:
Khessa sees a delicious opportunity in the thick of disgusting enemies writhing close to each other and literally throws herself in the middle, then summoning a circle of blades all around her that sows havoc in the horde! She then readies herself for the eventual counterattack.
(OOC: Khessa uses her Movement to position herself properly, then her action to cast Sword Burst. Supposing to have got the attention of the horde of vermins, she uses Action Surge to get another action and with that action she Dodges)
Else:
Khessa is tempted to use an area attack, but she judges that the enemies are not grouped together enough to allow her maximum effectiveness, so she limits herself to summoning green fire on the blade of her Greatsword and attacking one of the monsters - one that has another nearby.
(OOC: Khessa uses her Movement to reach an enemy that has another one nearby, then her action to cast Green-Flame Blade)
Zale approves of Eric's quick rejection of the lizardfolk's plan, attacking now would be a huge mistake.
Zale initiative: 20
As soon as the bugs are in view, Zale slides her rapier from it's sheath with a florish, then dashes forward to strike, then tries to slam down on it's shell with her claws.
Rapier: 8 (I'm assuming that's a miss)
Claw: 7 (-_- Welp, she's not hitting anything lol)
(Also, Just a heads up, It's finals week for me hence my long pauses in posting. Please feel free to bot me if I start holding things up to much. I should be back to normal by friday)

That doesn't... But you get their attention!
4 Centipedes attack Khessa: 16 + 4 = 20 to hit for 3 + 2 = 5 dmg, 7 + 4 = 11 to hit, 3 + 4 = 7 to hit, 4 + 4 = 8 to hit
Khessa must make a DC 11 CON save or take 13 poison dmg.
3 Centipedes attack Zale: nat 1 to hit, 18 + 4 = 22 to hit for 2 + 2 = 4 dmg, 6 + 4 = 10 to hit
Zale must make a DC 11 CON save or take 14 poison dmg.
Khessa was expecting the vermins' retaliation and with a quick elegant gesture and a whispered formula enhances her defences with an invisible, but quite solid, barrier - all attacks are deflected, either by the magical or by the armor defence.
The blonde arcane warrior also seizes the chance to activate her Arcane Ward.
'They go down quickly...'the tall adventuress is pleased 'We'll get rid of them in no time'.
(OOC: Khessa casts Shield as reaction, blocking the attacks. Since it is an abjuration spell, she also activates her Arcane Ward - not needed now, but it lasts... it might be useful later)
Calvin channels the energies of nature within himself once more. However, instead of committing to a full transformation, only his teeth sharpen. Then he begins to regurgitate before spitting something out at the centipedes.
(Attack: 25 Damage: 7 acid damage.)

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Khessa is relieved to see how the opponents are rapidly decreasing in number - their bites can be dangerous, but it is really easy to take them down.
A) If, by moving, she can place herself in a way that allows her to affect more than 2 enemies with Sword Burst:
That's why she strategically positions herself so as to have as many enemies around her as possible, then she puts her recently learned battle magic to use and suddenly a flurry of magical blades is unleashed all around her mercilessly cutting through the enemies' flesh!
B) Else:
Unfortunately, the enemies, in addition to being squishy, are also extremely scattered, so an area attack would be ineffective - she summons magical green fire again to cover the blade of her Greatsword, then she relentlessly swirls it towards the next vermin, choosing one that has another in the immediate vicinity.
[[ OOC: Well... Considering that there is only one opponent left and that Zale is not posting, I have Khessa use Action Surge and we get rid of it, thus closing the combat issue. Khessa still wanted to take a Short Rest after this fight, so she will get Action Surge back, no problem in spending it now ]]
Only one enemy escapes the magical storm of blades unleashed by Khessa, who, with a final effort of concentration, hurls a mote of fire at it!

I'm having connection problems. So just a quick post to inform you this all redults in only 1 Centepide surviving. Let see if Zale can take it out.
