Lyndaran nods to Tamryn and proceeds to search his belongings. Still upset he isn’t as thorough as he should be ( Investigation 9 on gamelog. 12 if perception applies)
Jhaartael responds to Mina and Krysa tersely but not harshly. "Now is not the time. Spar wants us to prepare to teleport. We can figure out the pieces later."
To the suggestion that they search their belongings, he shrugs, as long as it does not delay us.
Akyan had been frowning off into space trying to figure out what could have caused this memory loss before Spar burst back in yelling order. Team 1 of course it has something to do with Team 1. That group had the power to twist a good man's mind into something wicked. A little induced memory loss would be nothing for them. He grits his teeth. They tampered with his memories, his mind, and he didn't even notice until it was to late. And now anyone on his team could be compromised. Including himself. Stalking back to his quarters, he grabs his belongings then returns just as Tamryn mentions searching through them. He glances at his things and shrugs, he'd gotten rid of the cloths he had been wearing during the mission since they had been ruined in the fight with the boss, but he quickly searches through the rest of his belongings just to be safe.
(Yes, that's what I understood is that Lyndaran did)
Mina stops and stares a bit at Jhaartheal, "Oh, um ok." and then as Tamryn mentions searching belongings, she does as well as they get ready to transport.
Akyan abruptly stops searching through his things and repacks them. Clearly, he didn't go through the whole thing and clearly he doesn't intend to. As he ties his packs closed, he shoots Tamryn an irritated glare, then quickly turns his focus back to what he was doing. Once everything is repacked, he stands up and looks at his companions, "Spar said we should travel in pairs to keep an eye on each other. I say we decide who should stick with who now." His silver eyes focus on each of his companions individually.
Jhaartael:
"One of us is compromised. At least one. Would that person even know they are compromised? Gah! I hate this. I'm supposed to be able to trust these people, but now? Jhaartael was the first to speak with that Nyblond, but Tamryn.... Tamryn keeps running off. What reason did he have to be so against one of us accompanying him to wherever he went? He's the one who's gone off on his own the most. I have to keep an eye on him, and this buddy system will be a good chance to do so."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kyrsa eyes Jhaarteal for a moment, then simply nods. However, the chill surrounding her deepens slightly, and her hair is bleached completely white. Even her skin seems paler. She quickly inspects her belongings, suspecting that nothing will be out of the ordinary. If someone took the time to wipe their memories, then surely they would have removed anything suspicious. ...why did she remember those blasted documents then? Surely that was connected to this, Nyblond... And why does Jhaarteal seem to know more then he's letting on? She was with him the whole time, so when did he go meet this other person? Or, when did her memories fade? She was there with him wasn't she? Was he missing memories as well?
Investigation (for checking her belongings): 8
Looking to Akyan she says, "I think we can figure that out after we transport. We need to speak to Aldara about this. For now, lets just all stay together as much as we can."
Jhaarteal:
This doesn't make sense. I was with Jhaarteal throughout the entire time our group was split. But what were we doing? ...we had a conversation about how our missions were going... (she runs herself through the conversations that they had that did not include Nyblond). Well I can't rightly try to take command now that I have holes in my memory, but who else can I trust? Why won't Jhaarteal just tell me who Nyblond is, we have plenty of time to prepare.
(she proceeds to run herself through the day's events over and over again, trying to figure out where her missing memories start.)
As the team quickly packs and searches their possessions for anything suspicious, perhaps 20 minutes pass before Annika returns with Duncan and RIgel. (Feel free to continue to RP anything in that time period.
The new arrivals hurry into the conference room with Spar, who briefly updates them on the report Jhaartael gave of encountering Nyblond, and of the apparent gaps in memory in Team 3. He instructs Duncan to make contact with the Farm and inform them to move up the time of transport to ASAP. Duncan receives back the report that teleportation will be available in 5 minutes. Thus far, the twins on the roof have seen nothing suspicious to indicate an impending attack.
Duncan shares, "They will be teleporting us in one by one. Each of us will be hooded so as not to know the location of the New Farm, and expected to immediately surrender all weapons upon arrival. Failure to do so will be interpreted as a hostile action, and will be swiftly dealt with as any other attack. We will be separated and interrogated individually and if we cooperate, no torture will be involved. We will be subject to psychic examination, which again, if we cooperate, shouldn't be more than annoying. Failure to agree to these terms or failing to disclose any information you possess that would be material to this investigation will be considered an admission of conspiracy against the DCL."
Tamryn's thoughts are worried, but cautious. He has done everything he can to keep the group safe for now, at least he thinks he has. But he'll have to watch everyone, especially those who can alter thoughts. Best to not jump to conclusions, but still keep his eyes open.
Tamryn takes a hard look at Duncan:
Using Ear for Deceit, Tamryn is going to try and decide if Duncan is telling the truth.
Insight: Nat 1 (because of course; in theory this means a 13, but probably it is just a useless failure)
Tamryn volunteers to be the first to go, if that is an option.
Now that they are explaining interrogation at the next Farm, Jhaartael will of course reflect on the pull of the Libram. He is a wizard. He is 100 years old. He is an elf.He has specifically not attuned to the book in haste. My thought is that he would be at least wary of it now. If he could handle it himself he would probably suggest an isolation chamber for it (like a bag of holding?). But there is never time to get things. So, given the concern, I think he would tuck his pride, and discretely tell one of the circle for assistance in containing the item until it can be properly studied. In the five minutes to teleport, Jhaartael decides to bring the Libram with and disclose it in private at the Farm, hoping they are better equipped to handle such an object properly, and to keep the book with him.
In the 20 minutes, Jhaartael will ritual cast Detect Magic and then look first through all his items for any odd magical signatures, then will glance about at the others to see if he picks up anything on them or their things. He does this openly so everyone sees that he is doing it.
Looking over his things Lyndaran packs them again in haste, not clearly putting the heart neither into looking at them or packing them back.
Hearing Duncan's orders he prepares for the fact that they will give up their weapons and put all of them, even the dagger he has hidden in one of his boots, into the quiver, so it would be easier.
"Jhaartael should go first " he says, a little bit abruptly when Tamryn offers himself to be the first. " He is not compromised as he remembers everything, so he should be the first to start debriefing them so they can have a better picture to help the rest of us. Then you Tamryn, if you want, followed by Mina, Akyan and then you Kyrsa. I'll be the last of our team I want to make sure that you all are safe before I go."
He then turns to Spar, clearly assuming that they will follow his instructions. "So... not only one but two teams are compromised again... just because you weren't able to share information... like the names or appearances of the infamous team1. I begin to see a pattern here. With a little bit of time those traditors of team one will not have to even care about us. We would have managed to kill ourselves... "his frustration is obvious.
Jhaartael:
While he was checking his belongings:
"Who does she thinks she is? The leader! The audacity. The whole infiltration plan to the Tower was mine! We could have took Aeric's cell without him escaping if they would have just followed the plan and wait for us to return! but no... they had to things her way... She is careless and will have us killed. And she pretends to appoint herself as our alpha! And Jhaartael agrees? Of course he does! The lone wolf! always going alone, taking care of his own business... he doesn't think in the pack... I do! Of course he agrees with her trying to take the lead! He doesn't cares, neither she!! "
After hearing Spar's Instructions and while speaking to him:
"Torture? what's that about? And alpha could discipline a member of the pack but never... torture them... Who among us would like to withhold information? There's no torture needed, that would be the one compromised! They need to tell us things! We have a major problem within our hands and they keep us blind! Should we have known about this.. Nyblond? we would have been prepared! We could have stopped him! Took him for interrogation! But then again... they had to keep us in the dark! I wonder... what if some of them are already in league with the traitors? What is the reason to not telling us about the team one? "
Kyrsa listens silently as Duncan explains what will happen, then nods and says, "Understood."
She turns and listens to Lyndaran before saying, "No, I will go last." She doesn't elaborate on this, but if they need to worry about safety she feels that she should be the last to leave. Her eyes are cold as she turns her attention to Lyndaran, clearly she is still on edge about this whole ordeal, but whatever worry she has seems to shift more towards anger. Just as it seemed that they were improving as a team, this had to happen. How were they supposed to work together if they don't know who to trust? As much as she believed Spar's reasoning for saying that at least one of them could be compromised, but she wished that she had a better understanding for how that could happen. What sort of power did Team 1 hold that would let them compromise someone so easily? Was it possible that one of them could be compromised without even knowing it? All of these were questions that she would have to wait on asking.
After Duncan debriefs them, Akyan takes his rapier off his belt and places it with his shortbow, which is already stowed away. He rarely uses those things anyway. He's not to thrilled about the idea of someone invading his mind again, but clearly there is no escaping it.
When Tamryn offers to go first, Akyan almost says something before Lyndaran speaks up. He finds it a bit odd that the wood elf would just start spouting orders since usually he was one of the quieter members. However, what he said made sense, unless you looked at it the other way around. Maybe Jhaartael is the one who is compromised and that is why he doesn't have holes in his memory. How do they even know if what the high elf said is true? Maybe that Nyblond erased everyone's memories and then implanted false ones into Jhaartael's mind to mislead them. The drow frowns, so many possibilities. His eyes stray back to Tamryn, but why did that rouge jump at the chance to teleport first? He has to be hiding something as well. He grits his teeth and looks back to Lyndaran and asks. "May I ask, why you suggest we leave in this order? Other than Jhaartael i mean?" He does not ask about the rest of Lyndaran's words, but he does not like what they imply.
Lyndaran is about to reply to Kyrsa but Akyan speaks up and he replies first to him
"The sooner Jhaartael explains all the situation without any memory gasps as we have, the sooner our superiors could have the whole picture after we give our own versions of the events of the night. " he then speaks a little bit slower looking at Kyrsa, replying to her words "I should go the last. I must be sure that you all go out safely. I have to protect the pack, as I always try to do. The rest "he goes back to Akyan "Tamryn offered himself to go so no harm in indulging him, In case of a surprise attack you could hold your ground a little bit better than Mina, that's why I put her in front of you. No offense. " he says looking to Mina "Kyrsa wanted to stay last, that's why I put her just in front of me, so we both can protect you all while we are being evacuated. But I will go last. It's that enough for you? Can we please proceed and stop wasting time? "

Did anyone translate Mina's note for her?
(If she asks, then Akyan would, but he's not going to offer, especially since he's not even aware that it's encoded.)
(she did ask in general, in comment 2360)
((how much time before teleport? - does Jhaartael have time to ritual cast detect magic?))
Jhaartael casts Detect Thoughts as his comrades discuss and prepare for the teleport. He passes his focus to each in turn.
