(Lol just for clarification, yes Akyan could teach lockpicking, but he doesn't actually have proficiency with forgery. I imagine with his background he's done it a couple times (to varying degrees of success) but i don't think he can actually teach someone how to do it.)
As Lyndaran and Mina head off, she stops at the supply area and picks up her own set of thieves tools (let me know if this is an issue and if I need to pay for them?) and pulls them out as he goes over his set. She takes the time using them over and over working on getting proficient at them (will add 1 point of proficiency on sleight of hand)
Day Two: Jhaartael has a date with the Libram in the library ((Feel free to read)):
As he opens his mind to attune with the book, Jhaartael feels its sentience reach out, and "bump up" against his intellect fortress. The Libram pauses, surprised, or perhaps amused, and then whispers, "Very good, you are learning to defend yourself, as I have protected you in the past. Shall we make a covenant, you and I, to continue to defend one another? I have great power to share with you. Together we can do much good. With our power combined, the enemies of the Circle will tremble to hear your name uttered..."
((see spoilers above for results))
@robb88scps2 Jhaartael's response:
Long used to 'awakened' things in his life as an high-elf, Jhaartael takes the Libram's comments as he would any of his companions. He ponders the offer of the book. "I do not seek renown, but knowledge. I do not seek the fear of my enemies, and the only power I seek is that of understanding how to help others perceive and make better choices. Your protection was a boon, but more than that, I cannot say. What form of protection could you seek from me? I would protect you as I would my spellbook or any other source of knowledge."
When he tests his hypothesis to bring back Kyrsa's memories - and fails:
"Kyrsa, I am sorry. Whatever has affected your memories is beyond my ken. My secondary hypothesis is also false, that nothing happened to your memories, but rather to my own... for I do sense, something about your missing memories. However, what I sense is not born of the Weave, but something else."
Day 2/3
If Jhaartael is able to shop he will seek out magic shops while disguised as a young human. In particular he is looking for:
Spell scrolls and books, particularly of various Enchantment and Illusion spells.
Devices, or spells to copy mundane inscriptions quickly.
Information or recipes pointing to how he might create a simple magical device to copy mundane inscriptions.
Between his own training sessions, Akyan will try to teach Kyrsa how to pick locks. He recommends obtaining an actual set of thieves tools as they are less likely to break then her hairpins. He will also take some time to try to explain anything he learns about psionics to Jhaartael, and anyone else who is interested.
Lyndaran will listen to all things about psionic from Ajyan and after his lessons to Mina about picking locks and disarming traps he will ask her to teach him how to be more effective with the bow.
Tamryn listens to the others and watches them pair off into training diads. When there is a moment, he approaches both Aldara and Percy asking for advice regarding:
1. What their goals are for Athkatla right now? Do they think the whole operation is compromised? Will they even return? If so, do they have thoughts on how to approach the opportunity with Lady Dannihyr? or the opportunity for blackmail that the documents that Kyrsa provided and Jhaartael'smemories explained? He also asks for information regarding Team Two (particularly Annika).
2. How he could be a better support for his teammates? He would like training in ways to make his words more inspiring and generally to be better at being persuasive or intimidating in obtaining information.
If anyone seeks training with him, he is happy to provide what information and instruction he can, but his mind is mostly scheming about ways to take advantage of the situation in Athkatla, if they are to return, and in wondering how Annika is holding up.
When Kyrsasuggests a training exercise, Tamryn nods his assent (I'm assuming his training (via question 2) is completed prior to the exercise).
Clarifying a bit, Mina has trained specifically in lockpicking. Other sleight-of-hand rolls, like pickpocketing or stacking a deck of cards, etc, would not get the bonus.
Aldara and Percy agree that the number one priority for Athkatla is to discover what has happened to Duncan and Spar, and if possible rescue them. If it turns out either of them has been compromised, then your identities individually and as members of the DCL, if widely known, would impact your effectiveness as agents there. So, a secondary goal is to determine who knows what about whom. If there is an information leak and it can be contained, then it is probable your team could resume their assignment in Athkatla, although they would need a new safehouse. As to the opportunity to go undercover with the Dannihyr cartel, they leave it up to your discretion, as there are both risks and benefits to that course of action.
They are not sure of the significance of the documents that you delivered to Nyblond. Obviously there is some internal intrigue going on with the Serpent cartel, and Nyblond is somehow involved with that. But he was not assigned by the DCL to obtain that information, so they are not sure who he is working for, or how the information will be used. And honestly, this is not a top priority right now.
The remainder of Team Two is currently on a mandatory leave of absence far from Athkatla. Aldara and Percy agree that they are too emotionally tied to Spar and Duncan to be able to objectively participate in the investigation and search for them, and any judgment on their actions.
Aldara ponders Tamryn's request for training, and says she can think of one or two agents that might be helpful. Would he prefer training in Persuasion or Intimidation?
Tamryn volunteers to go back to the safehouse and look for evidence of what happened there (presumably with an escort or something). “I’m very good at observation and my familiarity with the safehouse would make it easier to note what is out of place or different.”
When asked about training, he thinks for a moment and says “Intimidation.” (What he was really attempting to do was get bard training, but he’ll take specific skill training if it’s offered)
(Makes sense on the sleight of hand.. though the debacle of the ring comes to mind lol)
Mina is thrilled to learn about lock picking and checking for traps. She’s surprised when Lyndaran asks for help with his bow as she thought he was extremely proficient with it. But takes him to work on long range situations.
After training with that, she searches out Breezy to ask about her brother. “A human has been part of the Serpents with the name of my brother and my accent. Is it possible for a long term disguise for him to not look like an elf or have his blue skin?”
When Kyrsa brings up training, she shrugs, then s agrees that it would probably be a good idea especially after how everything was left.
(I’m on a mini vacation through Sunday and posting will probably be a bit spotty. Feel free to bot me)

Aldara is pretty firm about your team members taking a few days' break before potentially returning to Athkatla. "I think we need fresh eyes for the initial investigation, but we will loop you in over the next few days."
Are you saying you want to take a level of bard? If so, yes, there are trainers available for that...
Mina...searches out Breezy to ask about her brother. “A human has been part of the Serpents with the name of my brother and my accent. Is it possible for a long term disguise for him to not look like an elf or have his blue skin?”
Breezy smiles warmly at Mina and also gives her a hug. "I'm so glad you're okay! It's good to see you!"
As Mina explains about Thamior, Breezy ponders. "Well, anything is possible with magic, but there might be more mundane explanations as well. Makeup, for example, to change the color of exposed skin. And after an initial illusion to show rounded ears, he might just have kept them tucked under his hair after that... So yes, I would say a long term disguise, especially for someone skilled with disguises, is absolutely possible, even without magic. Percy would know more about that."
Percy looks up your team on day 3 or so, and proposes a simulated hostage-rescue scenario. It would be done inside a magical pocket dimension, similar to the very first simulation you did. The objective would be to get past the perimeter of a compound, find the hostage and keep them alive as you escape. There would be guards, traps, and puzzles to solve. And there would be a time clock. Is your party interested?
(Who is Akyan training with for psionics? I'm guessing it's with the dragonborn, but just asking for the sake of RP.)
Akyan is also interested in participating in another simulation.
The gold dragonbornwho conducted the examination of your memories is named Charkala, and she is in charge of training all psionic adepts for the DCL. When Akyan seeks to further develop his abilities, she spends several sessions with him helping him learn long distance telepathy (he will be able to send a message to the adept-on-duty at the Farm from anywhere in Faerun once per day similar to sending) and basic memory examination (for now, he can only perform this on a willing subject, and it would cost him one level of exhaustion to do so.) He also has proficiency on INT Saves vs psychic/psionic effects, and resistance to psychic damage.
Speaking of that, Akyan, please give me an INT save with proficiency now.
Tamryn inquires around the farm, and is introduced to Aeneas Tartaglio, a human former Harper who actually plays a small harp. He is pleasant, but a little skeptical. "You want to learn barding? Do you sing or play an instrument?"
Upon learning that Tamryn has some skill with the drum, he takes him under his wing and helps him learn the basic techniques of using rhythm and pitch to interact with the Weave, as well as basic theories as to how to use song and the spoken word to give courage and hope to others.
Intelligence save: 12 (i suppose that could have been worse...)
After several training sessions with Charkala, Akyan is feeling a bit more confident in his abilities. While he's still not entirely comfortable with examining other people's memories, he does think new long distance communication will be extremely useful. During his time explaining his progress with his companions, he tries to focus on the lessons about resisting psychic affects.
When Percy approaches his party Akyan also nods to him. They haven't done anything like that in the field so far, and while he's not sure if any of his companions have had experience with that sort of scenario, he certainly hasn't. It sounds like a good opportunity to gain new experience while testing skills both old and new.
