As the groups focus turns towards the cats, Mina shrugs and uses her Hunter's Sense on those creatures as well.
Hunter’s Sense
As an action, choose one creature you can see within 60 ft. You immediately learn whether the creature has any damage immunities, resistances, or vulnerabilities and what they are if the creature is not hidden from divination magic. You can use this feature 2 times per long rest.
She also gains the insight that displacer beasts kill not only for food, but for pleasure and sport, and they are easily tempted by what look like vulnerable prey.
Unfortunately, there is very little cover around. We'll say you weren't noticed when initially surveilling the cats, but that if you come into view again, and wish to remain undetected, you will need to roll stealth.
"Easily tempted by vulnerable prey..." Mina ponders, then she fills the others in with what she knows (feel free to check the spoiler) and asks, "Can any of you make an illusion of prey to distract them away and maybe we can all sneak in?" she looks directly at Jhaartael, but asks them all.
"Well, I could make the image of some prey, and make it appear to move. It would, however, be devoid of sound or smell. I might be able to make a whimper or scent before the image appears, but then will need to focus on moving it." Replies Jhaartael, "Any suggestions as to what it should look like?"
"A question to those in our party who are experienced hunters: do you think a predator would be attracted by sound and scent alone? I could create the sound and smell of a wounded animal, keep moving it, and they would track it but not find it."
"Speaking as a hunter of monsters... I would lean towards the sound and scent and make them hunt for it. This could get them even further from the entrance if they fall for it."
Mina looks to the rest of the group, wondering what their thoughts were on the operation, knowing they needed to get moving.
"Okay, I will attempt a distraction. If they take it up and move away from us, I can also put an illusion between us and them so that they don't see us... similar to what I did in our first simulation."
"Well, we can always use your dancing lights as a backup if the scent and sounds don't drive the cats away. We all ready with this plan? I'll cast upon us a spell that will help us sneak past the beasts." Mina looks to Jhaartael, and as soon as the illusion starts and if the cats move out of the way, she will head for the door.
Finally content with the plan, Kyrsa follows along with her companions, glad to see everyone working together to determine the best plan. Hopefully they'll have enough time to complete the mission once they manage to get inside.
"Alright then," she says, preparing to start walking once more. "Ready when you are."
Jhaartael crouched from cover, watching as the three displacer beasts prowled outside the entrance of the building his party sought to enter. Their tentacle-like appendages twitched as they sniffed the air, searching for any sign of prey.
Jhaartael knew that they needed a distraction to lure the beasts away from the entrance, but he also knew that they had to be careful. Displacer beasts were cunning creatures, and if they sensed something was amiss, they would not hesitate to attack.
((Realizing that Prestidigitation has a shorter range than minor illusion, so the smell came first, then the sounds. If the beasts take the bait, will move the sounds until at range while dropping the scent, then could start up the dancing lights which have an even further range))
(Akyan can also use dancing lights if another distraction is necessary, though I think Jhaartael's will be enough.)
The drow prepares to dash stealthily for the door if the beasts take the bait. While he waits, he flexes his fingers, ready to summon a blade if things don't go their way.
Jhaartael: As you mutter the familiar words of the prestidigitation cantrip, you feel a little extra surge of power join itself to your own. Your cantrip immediately floods the area around the beasts with a very strong smell of fresh, hot blood, recently spilled. They all immediately drop close to the ground in hunting stances, when your minor illusion follows, also slightly amplified, creating the sound of small humanoid infantswailing. The displacers immediately race in the direction of the sound and begin sniffing and searching for the source of the tiny cries. Unless you follow them, they will have reached the outer range of your spell in 1 rounds (6 seconds).
The others in the party are slightly startled by your very vivid illusions of baby-bait.
As she hears the baby crying, Mina looks to Jhaartael in surprise, but then shrugs, nods to Tamryn and heads off towards the door, hoping it isn't locked. If it is, she'll let one of the more proficient lock picker's of the group take that task.
Stealth if needed: 20
(Don't forget to add the extra 10 to your stealth roll if you roll one.)

Mina learns the following:
displacer beast
She also gains the insight that displacer beasts kill not only for food, but for pleasure and sport, and they are easily tempted by what look like vulnerable prey.

Akyan shrugs, "I'm not much of a hunter, but that sounds like a fine plan to me."

"Lyndaran, any objections?"

(Based on his last comment, I believe Lyndaran is on board. I must admit, though, I was kinda hoping for the dancing lights).

Lyndaran nods to Mina's words.
"That's exactly what I was talking about earlier, thanks for putting it in better words than mine Mina" he smiles to her.

With waves of his hand and a few words, the scent of blood and the sound of whimpering filled the air some distance on the other side of the beasts, away from the party.
