Sabetha's eyes light up as she understands how the magic scarf works, admiring the multi-colored sunset over the sea that it depicts now.
"Thank you, Eva. It is indeed wondrous. I'll have to remember to put it away when I wish to keep my thoughts to myself! Though that in itself may be a tell for those who know what to look for. Are the clothes you purchased magical as well, then?"

"Apparently—or perhaps cleverly sewn. Wearing them, I get the feeling that I can carry more than I could before. And while I seem to have lost my appetite since..." Eva pauses. Her expression darkens. "...what I mean is..." Eva sighs, releasing her anxiety. "...I'll just say it. No use denying it. Although I no longer need to nourish myself, I have a bit of extra room in my pockets for rations or anything else we might need before setting forth into the wilds of the dale." She adds: "And I have strange things in this bag that might prove useful for Blackberry or the others. This Erevan fellow was mysteriously generous and provident."
Blackberry reminisces, "A benevolent trickster with a bag of presents? Sounds like one of the stories from my youth. 'The Prince with a Thousand Enemies' would escape with riches stolen from evil-doers, and distribute them to his people at Yuletide. Wow, I haven't thought about those stories in a long time."
Aubin meets the others at the safehouse and takes note of the colorful scarf "I see you found something interesting. Well lets continue our investigation and head to one of the towns that the Torga was seen at as I don't think they are here in Bryn-Shander."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Just before 10, as everyone gathers in front of the dwarven safehouse, Eva removes the items from the bag Erevan gave her. She presents each item to the other party members and asks if anyone might have a use for it: "If so, you're free to take it. Any that you don't take, I'll stash in my backpack or nifty pockets!" While presenting each item, she examines it in an attempt to discern magic or a magical history or origin [4X Intelligence (Arcana) checks]:
A set of earmuffs, designed for long thin ears 18
A dreamcatcher that looks like it is designed to be hung from a walking staff 9
A necklace with several jewels and a wooden charm shaped like an elk hanging from it 19
Something that looks unmistakably like a lobster bib 6
Each is made from very high-quality materials.
Eva realizes that quick examination alone [an Arcana check] is not necessarily sufficient to determine if an item is magic. She explains that in the evening, after the others retire—and when she has a free 60 minutes ("Did I mention that I no longer sleep? It's quite troubling.")—she would be happy to perform more elaborate rituals [detect magic] not only on these four items, but also on her new attire and on Sabetha's scarf.
Sabetha marvels at the wondrous items from Eva's bag.
"These are amazing, Eva. I won't partake, having already received this hue-shiftingscarf and the Ring of the Narwhal from earlier."
"Aubin and the rest of you, I hope you found what you sought at the House of the Morninglord? I know we have to pick a direction to search for Torga Icevein's caravan and Sephek Kaltro. Also, after this, I wanted to share with you all the side-quest that Eva and I personally agreed to at the Geldenstag's Rest. One which I don't believe will interfere with our current job, but you can be the judge of that. I hope you will hear us out."
Blackberry will share with the others, "I have been asking around town about Torga and her travels. Unfortunately the information was not at all consistent. Some were convinced she was headed to Redwaters, while others mentioned Lac Dinneshere and Lonelywood. I was unable to determine which of these was the correct destination, I apologize."

(OOC In Spanish, "lament" is "lamento", but "to lick" is "lamer". Which makes me wonder if these two were somehow connected in the Middle Ages when Spanish became a language. See, this is how my brain works.)
Immediately after pocketing the bib, Eva freezes. Her head twitches to the right; it twitches to the left. “W-what?” Eva asks no one in particular.
She slowly removes the bib and resubmits it. “Blackberry has selected the earmuffs. They certainly suit you, Blackberry. And Aubin seems drawn to the...dreamcatcher. Is that correct, Aubin? It catches dreams? That leaves the jeweled necklace with the wooden elk-shaped charm suspended from it and this cute lobster bib. Apologies, I was a bit too hasty in claiming it for myself.”
Elk Running extends a hand. "May I?"she asks, looking at the necklace. "This Erevan seems a bringer of good fortunes. Is it but chance? Messengers of the gods are known to cavort with mortals. May it be they see fit to offer us gifts for the trials ahead."
"Yes I would take this dream catcher. Now lets continue our journey. Like I said I think we should head to another town to look for the Torga" Aubin attaches the dreamcatcher to his belt.
Sabetha steps up to address the group, subconsciously brushing some of her long red hair behind her ears as she does.
"Well first, I agree with heading east towards Easthaven and the Redwaters. In addition to what what Blackberry has found, recall the map. Just yesterday, all of us but Eva and Naraeld returned along the northwestern road from Targos (and halfway from Termalaine) along Maer Dualdon, having trekked near the Dwarven Valley on our task to retrieve the dwarves' sled filled with iron. And at no point in our journey did we see anything resembling this Torrga Icevein's caravan - at least not to my recollection. Only frost giants, mammoths, goblins, and finally some herders. So east it is, then."
She takes a deep breath, gathering her confidence. She has forgotten to remove her multi-hued scarf, which reflects nervousness and determination.
"As for the side quest. Eva, please fill in any gaps that I miss. This was the job posted at the Northlook when most of us first met. Dannika Greysteel is a half-elven scholar who is apprenticed to Miss Halla, the town herbalist. She believes that small nature spirits called chwingas, tiny elementals native to the Icewind Dale and other parts of this world, may hold the key to understanding or even unlocking the Frostmaiden's endless winter. A goal which I believe aligns with ours. Or with mine at least. The task is to watch for them in the wilderness between the Ten Towns and attempt to befriend and entice one back with us so Dannika can attempt to study and communicate with it. It is unlikely we speak their language, so we will have to use non-verbal cues and chwingas' apparent innate curiosity. Dannika gave us a lantern whose flame turns green when chwingas are near. In truth, I would have taken on this quest for free, but there is a small reward (50 gold pieces total). I do not think it will hinder the job that Hlin Trollbane asked of us, to track down Sephek Kaltro, as we will be traveling the Icewind Dale regardless and can keep an opportunistic eye out for the chwingas wherever we go."
Another breath as Sabetha looks around to see how she is being received by the party. It is striking how young she is.
"As I said, only Eva and I have agreed to this. All of you are of course free to judge and decide (or object) for yourselves. Though I am curious if any of you are familiar with chwingas. In particular you, Elk Running due the affinity you seem to have with the land, and you Naraeld, being native here."
Aubin quickly turns around "Something strange just happened.I just heard a voice saying this dreamcatcher is for Naraeld and that the bib was meant for me. I don't know what to make of it, but I am fine switching items. Sorry Sabetha for interrupting."
Sabetha's eyes light up as she understands how the magic scarf works, admiring the multi-colored sunset over the sea that it depicts now.

Blackberry will quite humbly raise a forepaw when the earmuffs are presented, "If no one else wants them..."
Aubin takes a looks at the dreamcatcher "What an interesting find. I would not expect this here"
Sabetha marvels at the wondrous items from Eva's bag.

Eva conveys to the others what she has learned from her inspection of the items:
She feels inexplicably drawn to the bib and pockets it before anyone else can...
Eva laments that she didn't study divination.
Blackberry laments this as well.
(OOC In Spanish, "lament" is "lamento", but "to lick" is "lamer". Which makes me wonder if these two were somehow connected in the Middle Ages when Spanish became a language. See, this is how my brain works.)

Elk Running looks between Aubin and Sabetha. "The quest, yes. But, Sabetha, what is this other task of which you speak?"
"Well, the plurality of my sources pointed to Redwaters, so I suggest we start there," suggests Blackberry, suggestively.
"Well that sounds as good of a reason as any" Aubin checks his gear and stands ready to leave for Redwaters
Sabetha steps up to address the group, subconsciously brushing some of her long red hair behind her ears as she does.
