"Violence, even well intentioned, always rebounds upon oneself."As Mav says this he looks up at Berrus and Kent. "I understand that without Grunden, none of us have work, and that he is a dear friend of yours Kent. But this one here is no different from us, just doing a job to make a living."
"Well, he said something about the "Black Spider" paying for Grunden's kidnapping. I think the next move is going to be to find out where Grunden is being held."

Seeing things starting to heat up with the prisoner, Kor called to the others, "Hey fellas, try to keep the little guy alive if you can. I've got big plans for him."
While the others continued interrogating their prisoner, Kor took stock of the dynamite within the box. He grabbed a few bundles of dynamite and placed them into the newly repaired bag then set it aside carefully. Taking the wiring, he tried to figure out how exactly to combine the dynamite sticks with the fuse wiring to get the desired effects and how long he would need to cut the fuses for the dynamite to detonate after it was thrown, but before his foes would have enough time to escape the blast.

OOC: Just looking for the actual game mechanics of dynamite, never used it before or even known it was a thing.
The goblin seemed to be out of it for most of your conversation, staring blearily at a spot on the roof, mouth wide open in dazed confusion, but he suddenly speaks up
”Eyyyyy gots noooo ideas ooo the wee spider be, Klarg seems to be thinking he be a Red but that’s not me job to be speculating no sir. I can take ya to base, just gotta be getting back home to the Wifey, Sharptooths second birthdays tommarow don’t ya know.”
(Story will progress in a few hours give or take, feel free to ask or say anything in the mean time. I’ll be gone for a while)
Edit: Also, before the story progresses, make a descion as a group if you want to take a short rest or not. That’s about 30 minutes game time of just relaxing, and you get to expend hit dice to heal (the character sheet does it for you somehow)
“I think it would be best to arrive at the camp by night fall, that way there is more of a chance to sneak in get Gundren and the body guard and get out. We could take advantage of this time to rest up. Friend, who is Klarg?”
“I think approaching their camp at night sounds like a good idea. We’re going to need whatever advantage we can get if we’re going to fighting these things, and the black of night might be advantageous, especially if they don’t know we’re coming.” Valathar looks to the goblin. “We can get you home safe, but we’re going to need more information. Is Gundren still alive? And if so, where are your people keeping him?”
I'm fine with a short rest. I'm rocking 2HP, and I think coming upon the camp at night is a good idea regardless. How's everyone else feel?
Having figured out the proper fuse length and assembly, Kor completed the dynamite needed for the first part of his plan. Standing up to rest his tired fingers, he walks over to others.
"I'm going to agree as well, a short rest now would give us time to tend our wounds, discuss our plans, and make sure we get all the info we can out our little friend here. We should also see if we can get the other one that was poisoned awake. We can separate the two and make sure their stories match up. I've also got a plan to should level the playing field, so to speak," he says with a slight grin "but it will take me a bit more time to get ready. We can discuss it as well to fine tune it a bit and get everyone on the same page."
"Val, how is that other goblin. We may be able to make a trade if things go south at the camp. We will most certainly be outnumbered at the camp, and might be able to use hostages as leverage. That is also a good idea Kor, although I don't think he's lying. That was a pretty solid smack a gave him." As Mav says this, he pats the head of the goblin where a large lump is from the strike from his quarter staff..
Nodding at the half-orc, another idea came to Kor's head, "Mav," he said, "I heard you mention a monastery before, you wouldn't happen to have charcoal, incense, or a brass brazier in your supplies, would you? I know they are sometimes used in prayers. It's a bit of a long shot, but if I had those things it would make finding Gundren's location a lot easier."

Valathar examines the small goblin. "He's stable, but he's still out cold. He should wake in a few hours, but he should live. We might not be able to question him in time, but we can certainly use him in a trade. What's the plan for our cart and horses? We could probably pull them off a ways into the woods, tie them up there, but I don't know how far away this hideout of theirs is. I don't want anyone raiding our cart, or anything spooking or worse, eating our horses."
“Yes! I do have some incense!” Mav digs through his backpack and pulls out a small brass case containing a few sticks of incense of a floral aroma. “If it will help find our employer then Go for it.” Mav hands the 5 sticks of incense to Kor.
Stretching his back with a pleased sigh, Kor says, "You're right, we shouldn't stay on this road and neither should the supplies. You had a keen eye for those tracks earlier, do you mind using that skill of yours to look around for a clearing big enough to hide the cart? We could also use it for a quick break as well. I'll help again, for what it's worth."
"Also, someone should tie up our other prisoner before he wakes up, don't want him running off to war his friends."
Val, I'm using the Help action on you so you can use advantage on the survival roll to find a good spot.

Surprised his long shot bore hit so close to the mark, Kor's lone eye widened as he accepted the incense from Mav. "That brass case you have, it may work as the brazier as well. Charcoal, I need charcoal...and herbs, I'll look for those. Sorry Val, this could change the game! Does anyone have charcoal?" he yelled to the group "Maybe there's some in the cart." he suggested softly to no one in particular before running over to the wagon.
Can't do the Help action. Need charcoal and herbs!
Perception (to look for charcoal, herbs, and some kind of brass container (like a bowl or helmet or something) amongst the supplies): 17
The case was kinda just for flavor... it’ll have to be a DM call. But if he rules in our favor your more than welcome to that too. I will be sure to be a little bit more careful in what I RP in the future sorry.
Ok, thanks! I amended, my search of the cart to include something made of brass just in case. I wasn't expecting to get this stuff until we got to a town or something. If I can get it all together now it would be awesome! There's a big hole in my plan and this could help us plug it nicely.
Kor, you easily find the materials you need in the boxes.
The goblin spaces out again for most of your conversation, and after a few minutes of blank staring he blurts out-
“Awwh shite, boss man Klarg is gonna kill me for being late, maybes nows the time to be taking the family and moving to another nice cave somewhere. Yessir, best be avoiding Klarg for a few days, that mountain could crush me skull in with a flick of the pinks!” The goblin then starts laughing in a extremely high pitch.
We’ll fast forward to a few hours in the future when both Goblins are awake and fully functional in about an hour IRL time. Feel free to take any actions or talk in the meantime, I’ll try to check in when I can.
"Kor, you seem to have a plan put together. I would much like to know what is going through your head. I noticed you were toying with some of the dynamite. You seem pretty experienced and I'd like to learn more. A monks life is generally pretty solitary." Mav sits in the cart eager to learn of his new friend, almost child like in nature.
