Muir bows and heads back to the other room not waiting for Elthana, fearing that Sam might be bludgeoned to death on the floor.
As he returns and sees Sam alive he exhales a big breath. Trying to keep the peace he askes "Is there anything that can be done here Mr.Sergor and uhh what is your name wolf? As I said before I met another like you, Yen."
As Elthana and Muir re-enter the portal room all conversation ceases and the wolf, Sergor, Sam and his animals all look over. "Now I'm afraid we wait. There are two possible scenarios and once Sigrid has done her work we will know which path to follow... Either the lodestone can be charged and we can resupply its power holding the treasury up or in the most unfortunate case attempting to slow it's descent and landing it away from the city. Or if it cannot be resupplied our only option is to replace it quickly... By the way where are the singer, the boy, and the dog?"
The wolf glances to Muir quizzically and cocks its head with a bit of a 'borf'.
“Welcome back!” He says to Muir and Elthana. “These two were just discussing a compromise on protecting this gate… I’m sure they’ll work something out. If Sergor doesn’t then we’re blaming all deaths on his stubbornness. If Garth doesn’t then we’re blaming all of the portal guardians as a whole…”
“Now what can be replaced to solve the falling problem? And where do we find one?”
"Lodestone. Thaeir." Sergor answers swiftly pointing at the portal as if that makes things clearer.
"If you want to prepare then I would get something warm to wear and any of your gear for adventuring... Worst case scenario you may have to leave for a short while, and I doubt party clothes will get you too far" he says to Elthana, with a hint of appreciation for her tailored robes. "If you need to go back home and collect your things do so now."
After a slight pause Sam speaks to the wolf some more. “Well we can sort that out later. Right now I just want to save lives. Can we get what he needs from that side?”
“Your permission… your help in saving lives will only bolster your side and win you allies…”
Elthana looks down upon the beautiful dress Mori made for her, "I uh.. forgot I was wearing this. Yes, I'm going to go change and get my stuff. Hopefully run into Vin and Gewyn on the way. Meet you both back here." She says this last part to Sam and Muir and runs out of the room.
“So we can go through and you are ok with that?” Sam asks. “Our going and getting this loud stone is…” Sam stops as Elthana speaks and then runs out of the room, raising an eyebrow at the sight. “Err… ummm,… What was… Oh yeah, you’ve no problem with us going through and getting the stone? Is there anything you can do or tell us that would help?”
“Right,” Sam says with a stiff nod and then turns to Sergor. “What about you? Any help? What this loud stone looks like? Where to find it? What’s on other side of the portal? Anything?”
Muir stands mouth agape eyes lit up with excitement. As Elthana bolts Muir yells “Can you grab my things please!? Just my shield and pouch of materials!”He turns his attention back to Garth and the portal
Muir looks at the others "Well I suppose I won't need my shield....I have ny staff and druidic magics....I should be fine...So we wait to see if my magic helped. Is now an appropriate time for questions? I have so many...."Muir trails off remembering the scolding he got from Elthana about his questioning of Sergor last time.
Sergor gives Sam 'a look', "if you want to know what the 'LODEstone' looks like there is one in the other room... But don't disturb Sigrid too much, she has a temper.
Behind this portal is the kingdom of Akiin, his palace and his lands. They cover about three times the amount of land that Marblestead covers. The other lands there are separated by vast expanse of nothing and these lands... move."
Sergor looks to Muir, "if you need your things I would prioritise that over asking questions of me. We should wait elsewhere, this oaf isn't going to let anything happen to the portal for now" he gestures at the white wolf.
With that Sergor moves to leave, insisting that Muir and Sam follow him for refreshments and a more comfortable wait OR the way out, should they want to go collect their things.
As Elthana leaves the portal room and heads back into the wine storage room, she runs into Gewyn and Vin. Looking to Vin in particular, "Everything ok?"
Then after hearing what is going on, "We might have to go into Thair. I'm getting out of this dress and grabbing my stuff then meeting everyone back here. The Lodestone is failing, one from the treasury is trying to correct it, but it doesn't look good."
Having entered the wine room with no idea where to go next Vin was wondering around looking for some clue of how to proceed. When Elthana enters she wpuod notice Vin has brought nef with them. The hound seems very subdued and unusually submissive at this time. Head bowed and following.
Vin seems relieved to see Elthana. As she asks him if everything is okay he nods. There isn't a smile on his face but he doesn't seem distressed either.
He replies "I can't say everything is okay. Not yet. It is something we will work towards. We talked it out a bit and will need to talk more with everyone else when things calm down. For now, I'm okay and we obviously have a lot to discuss later. There won't be anymore trouble right now... " nef gives a small woof. The energy of a dog that knows it was bad. Vin looks to her then nods and looks back to Elthana and says "she promises there won't be any trouble. She also apologizes for threatening you."
Vin does give a small smile at this but its fleeting and vanishes quickly. He then nods and says "So, what do you need from us?"
As Elthana explains a bit Vin nods and says "Okay, you got our help. Should we just head in then or do you need us to do something else?"
Elthana looks a little surprised when Vin says Nef apologizes for threatening her. she doesn't say anything though.
"If you don't need anything, yes, go ahead and go in, Sam and Muir are back there with Sergor and the white wolf, whose name is apparently Garth." She pulls the sconce on the wall and the wine rack moves aside again to show them the way.

Bowing her head to Sigrid, Elthana leaves the room and runs back to the portal room.
Looking directly at Sergor, "What can be done to assist right now? Muir has given Sigrid what she needs and told us to return to you."

“Replace what now?” Sam asks.
"The others? I.. don't know." Elthana realizes she doesn't know when they stopped following her. She was too focused on getting down here.
"Should we prepare for the worst while we wait? I can't just stand here."
“There is this loudstone on the other side of the portal?” Sam asked Garth. “Can we go get some?”
After a slight pause Sam speaks to the wolf some more. “Well we can sort that out later. Right now I just want to save lives. Can we get what he needs from that side?”

Elthana turns back to Muir briefly, "I'm not going back to the house! I have a change of things here at the castle." and she rushes out.
Muir looks at the others "Well I suppose I won't need my shield....I have ny staff and druidic magics....I should be fine...So we wait to see if my magic helped. Is now an appropriate time for questions? I have so many...." Muir trails off remembering the scolding he got from Elthana about his questioning of Sergor last time.
((Sergor still hasn't answered Sam but that could just be DM in his post-Halloween hangover? lol... but if you have questions for Sam go for it?))

Muir smiles at Garth and then follows wondering if he could squeeze a question in before he leaves to get his stuff
