“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Millwater takes a deep breath as he sees the sky again. Pulls out and crumbles a biscuit on top of a rock, giving thanks to the flock for thier assistance. Turning right, he runs to catch up to his companions.
As you all turn right onto the path you can see you are now on the north side of the river. The trees are not as thick in the foothills you find the path following. It curves around most of the hills staying as close to the mountains them selves. Now you can see it is getting dark outside when a small cave appears in the side of the mountain. The cave is shallow only about 40 feet deep while it is 20 feet across. Do you wish to stop for the night, look for a different place to camp or continue to push deeper north? It has been about four hours since you left the waterfall behind. You have not heard any noises besides the normal animal sounds of the mountainous area you are in.
"That cave - if it's unoccupied- seems like a good place to stop for the night. It's guardable, and if we use rocks to block the view of it, we could even have a small fire!" Festoon suggests, eyeing it from the distance.

Dashing and darting between the dales and hollows off the side of the path, foraging ingredients to make dinner. Searching for wild onions, parsnips, mushrooms, roots, and tubers in areas that rain water can collect. (eggs if in season) After a while it's pretty clear he has the zoomies til he finds a patch of nip.
Very much enjoying life after the encounters he and his companions faced! Rolling in the patch, he collects some and makes 2 bundles to dry for later. Handing a bundle to Tail Feather, he says "Do you think anything lives in that cave up ahead? Seems like a nice place to set up camp"
"You guys are tired already," J'nah said, "All right, I'll help make the camp and take the first shift when it's time. I'm not really that tired yet and it's better that I help when the light is still somewhat out."
‘A concealed fire for warm food and warmth, and a defendable location as well. We could push on but it may be this is the best rest stop we’ll find before full dark. Looks like Mill has the food prep well in hand. I can rustle up some wood if someone builds a pit. I’ll take second shift.’ She frowns a second. ‘Ok-guess that was a tad on the order side. Anybody else have an idea please speak up.’
Vee swallows a little laugh and something like ‘bossy-britches’ escapes his grinning mouth. ‘I’m game for third, and I’ll see if I can find any fresh meat in the area.’ He says off in a circle route aroma the camp looking for animal signs.
Millwater gets busy digging a fire pit and a latrine. He leaves the shovel standing proud next to the hole. He sets up his utensils and cookware, hoping for some meaty big game. He gets a couple pots of water on, and starts kneading some bread not sure at to what kind but anywhere from rolls to possum pot pie is on the table.
Softening vegetables and tubers in one of the pots. Hoping for mouthfuls of meat to tear and shred with his teeth. Millwater sets up to make sausage in case Veeshal comes back with the meats. In another pot he soaks grains, oats!, nuts, honey, and dried fruits over low heat for breakfast.
Moving to the small cave you all set about making it defensible before Veeshal looks for some game to supplement the meal Millwater is preparing after diging a latrine and fire pit. It is not too long before Veeshal comes back with three rabbits. Millwater is quick to field dress them before skinning and cutting them up for cooking. It is just about dark when he is able to serve his companions a well meal. Afterwards the fire is banked as everyone except those one watches gets some sleep. It is a peaceful night. The sky begins to lighten as you see the shadows of the mointains will stay with you until midday before you can actually see the sun After a nice breakfast you gather all your gear as you once again follow the path to the north
I need perception checks as well as who the first three in the marching order is.
Millwater feds the scraps and crumbs to the flock after serving up breakfast. With everything packed up and put away, he sets on the land like an apex predator. Roaming as a scout up ahead, bringing terror to mushrooms and wild onions in his path. Keeping his companions in view, exploring different patches of vegetation, on the hunt for the 3 sisters! Corn, beans, squash grown together supporting each other in adversarial weather and dry climate.
Festoon will follow after Millwater as they travel, looking for the next shrine.

You breakfast before heading back along the past the the north. Millwater moves ahead as he moves from side to side disappearing from view time to time as he searches the fringes of forest. it is during one of these times the party is moving past before Veeshal sees Millwater about to be a snack for some worgs and their goblin riders. Mill water found some nice tubers growing in a patch. Being a faily large patch Millwater sets about digging some up for their dinner and other meals unaware he is being surrounded until he hears a low growl. Looking up he sees six large Worgs around him cutting off any escape. As the rest of the party stops they can see what Veeshal pointed out. About 50 feet from the path is Millwater, the worgs and the goblins.
This is the start of combat. I need initiative rolls as well as actions for round one.
Being further back in the marching order because he had a solid ranged option and having a low init, it's feasible that either of these outcomes occur. The first option is if I don't get directly engaged, the second is if I do. I rolled 3xD20 becuase I thought I might have another attack, but I forgot I don't have a second attack yet :P Hence just the two results. If we have Worgs and Riders, every Riding pair will activate Horde Breaker for sure. :)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mouser, seeing the trouble his buddy is in, casts a spell, causing the tubers to apparently grow up and around Millwater, protecting him within a potato wall. Shouting "Millwater! You've got to stop meeting new people like this!"He then slips into the nearby brush and readies his new shortbow.
