"Hobble the horses. He can't make a fast escape on a horse that can't do more than walk. And if he's so much of a hurry that he tries to grab the first horse he sees, he'll end up shank's mare in two seconds after. More than that, if any of you have mending magic, snip the reigns of all the harnesses, mend them afterwards. Either way, we should be able to force him to run rather than ride." Festoon says, fingering his own string, "Fine enough twine and after sundown, and he won't even see why he can't use the horse - he just will give up the effort."

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Everyone is thinking during the walk back from Emilee's house that you should see or provoke Seth or Wilburs father. Some have even expressed harm to the horses. What is the consensus of the Group?
‘If we can do this without harm to the horses then I’m all for it…’a smile creeps into her voice ‘Move the tack from where it normally sits-someplace away from the stables or into the hay loft or buried under hay, remove the bits from the bridles, as well as the belly bands from the saddles, hobble them so they can only walk…’ She looks at Vee and Mill, then to the rest ‘Did anyone happen to see if there’s only the one gate in/out of town? I can say for sure I didn’t think to check until now.’ She pulls paper, quill and ink from her pouch. ‘Ok-I’m not familiar enough with horses to attempt to hobble them, so those who do know can handle that.’ She writes a message hastily on the paper, waves it a bit till the ink dries then folds and hands it to Vee. ‘Get this to the chandlers-quickly and quietly. Leave it on the porch or attached to the door in a very obvious place. Tap on the door just enough to get his fathers attention, then fade. Hopefully it brings the results we need. Mill-you’re pretty handy with that knife-I’m tasking you to watch over Vee from the shadows and help him get there and back in one piece. Meet up at the stables once you’re done.’ She watches as they slip into the shadows. ‘Ok-the rest of us need to beat feet to the stables to get done before those two return.’ Returning the writing materials to her pouch she sets off towards the stables.
"Hobbling doesn't hurt a horse, it just makes it so it can't do more than small steps, until you untie the string." Festoon explains. "It helps when you can't tie them to something firm, like in a desert."

Millwater, Tail feathers and Festoon all see multiple shadows moving through the village. They are hunched as they creep on moving farther into the village. You all wonder if these shadows may be the cause of people/children going missing. Meanwhile Veeshal is about as quiet as a bull in a glass factory. He seems to make a lot of noise not that Sorrow is much quieter but the shadows around them freeze not daring to move even though the two of them do not see anything.
Do you keep heading for the Horse corral or do you go after these shadows? If you choose to go after these shadows I will need combat attack/damage rolls as well as initiative rolls. If you wish to do or try something besides direct combat please state what you are doing. Millwater currently you are hidden in the shadows unseen by those creeping around. As they are focused more on the rest of the party members.
Tail glances at the group, part of her wants to get the shadowy figures and a small part of her wants to get to the horses. If she catches a party members eye she will tilt her head to the shadows.
If they go after the shadows, she will use her claws.

J'nah slips an arrow up the string of his bow and tracks the shadow closest, deciding to avoid a kill shot he step back and out of the shadow keeping the bow level which by his calculations would be a leg shot. (Trying to reduce lethality.)

Millwater turns to Veeshal and says "I got your back! Hobbling the horses is a great idea, should of thought of that myself."
After Veeshal gets ahead, Millwater slips into the shadows as he follows Veeshal to the Chandlers shop.
