With another ROAR of frustration, Thurodim turns and thumps his fist against his heavy muscled chest again before striding towards the cowardly heart-ripping beast, then hurling two heavy javelins towards it in quick succession, then letting out another challenging roar again at the taloned monster above.

Watching the creature attack Ilithir, Faera gets worried, so she tries her control it a bit, hopefully slow down the attacks...
Casting slow on it, the creature needs to roll a WIS save of 14 or the spell will take effect.
WIS save: 17
For a second the spell almost takes hold, the peryton seems to move through the air like it is swimming in treacle... then the fury of the creature pushes through, and there's a blur as the delayed movement catches up.
He cursed under his breath and best dived into the fog. The beast, if one could call it so, saw him creating the illusion and knew in which direction to search for him. It’s first attack, blinded by the spell, failed but revealed the nature of the silent image. Ignoring the fire of Ilithir’s companions the creature moved against him again. Black antlers tore through his flesh before the horror tried to cut him with talons. The elf reacted fast enough against the second offensive, raising his shield in time to parry it.
The pain was doused by adrenaline and the silver haired man didn’t even try to hold concentration on his spell. It was now useless, he knew, considering his options. Blindness? It could retrieve the lost advantage and better yet, extend it to the rest of the group. But that flying chimera had more than proven its resistance. The chances of it shrugging off the Necromancy was too high. Maybe I should quicken an Eldritch Blast. That would give him four beams, but that was not a feat he could do so easily. It was better to maximize his damage first.
Rising his hand against the enemy, Ilithir whispered a curse. His eyes flashed silver and a thread of shadows started to envelop the body of the monster. Hex was casted against upon its strength.
“It will be easier to grapple it, if anyone wants to try when it reaches the ground.” He said loud enough for all his companions to hear as energy focused on his palm. Like before he target the killer in the skies with all of his Eldritch Blast.
Notes: Ilithir uses his bonus action to cast Hex on the monster and impose disadvantage on Strength checks. Then he uses his action to cast Eldritch Blast (rolls on the campaign log). The first blast was a nat 1 so I didn't even roll damage. If Ilithir is target by an attack between 19 and 23 he will use his reaction to cast Shield. Spell slot used and damage taken marked on the sheet.
Eldritch Blast
Beam 2: 23 to hit. Potential Damage: 16 (8 + 5 from Hex + 3 from Hexblade Curse)
Illithir's aim is true, and the powerful magic has a clear impact on the creature, jolting it in the sky. Thurodim's javelins which follow piece skin, though shallow, and in a few flaps are dislodged and fall to the ground, thankfully far from any of you. Thunk thunk thunk, all three land point first and stand tall, like the thin trunks of strange young trees.
Its attention again drawn by the source of powerful magic assaulting it, the peryton bears down on Illithir, death in its eyes.
Dive Attack: 25. Damage: 18 (12+6) piercing
Tucking in its wings it descends, too fast, too fast. Illithir cannot get his shield up in time, nor his magical Shield (over 23), and is run through again with the deadly knifes of the peryton's antlers.
Its dive complete it stands in front of Illithir, towering over the bleeding man, his life essence running down the black horns and beginning to pool on the top of its grey-white head.
Peryton token G5-6, H5-6. Mala, your turn, then Ghurr.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mala watches unblinkingly as the flying creature strikes Illithir. She draws out her planar power as she aims her longbow again. (Bonus Action - Planar Warrior; also Hunter's Mark is still active): (Longbow Attack: 10 Damage: 12 + 6) (Longbow Attack: 17 Damage: 9 + 3)
(If any of the attacks hit, Favored Foe adds damage: 4 and Planar Warrior adds: 7 and all damage becomes force damage)
She again tries to remain or get behind any cover available near the edge of the path where she is located.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ghurr watches the flying deer monster swoop down again and his eyes go wide when the beast doesn't immediately fly back up into the sky. Ghurr races forward, his glaive spinning even as he moves.
Ghurr slashes down with the glaive and whips it around to smack at the horned monster's head.
He's about to strike again but Ghurr decides that keeping the peryton on the ground or at least limiting its ability to fly easily might be the better choice.
Ghurr leaps onto it, bringing all of his 300lbs and 180lbs of gear and armor on top.
The first of Mala's arrows goes wide, and at first you think you have struck with the second, it was so close, before you realise the arrow passed harmlessly through the long outer feathers of the beast's wing.
Ghurr's strikes hit squarely, however, the magically enhanced nature of your glaive seeming to help. You cut deep, before leaping into its back and holding on tight.
Contest grapple (STR check at disadvantage): 20
(If you see the Game Log I accidentally rolled a save first, then corrected to a check.)
It's close - Ghurr's bulk and natural strength almost hold the beast down, large hands on long arms have a firm grip on both wings. But just as you feel sure the peryton has been locked down, it gives an immense shake, it's wings spinning about it, and Ghurr is thrown clear. Even under the effect of the Hex, this creature is very strong.
Make a DEX save DC 10 or be knocked prone.
The peryton, feathers ruffled from successive magical attacks, and now deep gouges in its skin from the glaive, looks at the large creature it has just thrown from its back, and the small creature on the edge of death before it. It reaches out and tries to grab Illithir between it's talons.
Grapple (disad Str check): 6
Illithir, it's a low roll but can you beat it to prevent yourself being snatched by the peryton? A Str(Athletics) or Dec(Acrobatics) check please.
Whether Illithir is grappled or not, the Peryton will then take to the sky, the huge pressure of the downward force from the wings enough to prevent any opportunity attacks. Before you know it your foe is flying away, heading roughly northwest back over the forest, potentially with Illithir dangling beneath (whether it has Illithir or not will affect its speed so I can't say how far away it is yet. Either 30 or 60ft.)
The peryton tries to snatch you off the ground as it flies up, but despite your injuries you are easily able to evade its grasp! Unburdened by the extra weight it takes off, and reaches 60ft away.
(Crit!) A huge hit! A streak of fire leaps from Faera's hands and blossoms into a huge bright flower on the peryton as it flies. The sudden impact and searing heat causes the beast to roar in pain, and the heart which it has held onto so carefully through the whole battle goes falling, falling to the ground.
Its feathers burnt and blackened, blood dripping from deep glaive wounds, the peryton is clearly not in a good way as it attempts to make its escape.
He rolled over the ground, to his left, when the monster tried to get him on the air. Regret come first when the elf realized that letting himself get caught would reduce the speed of the enemy and he could escape easily using Mist Step. Survival instinct was getting the better of him, clouding his mind, he realized. Should’ve weakened its mind, Ilithir said to himself while looking at Faera. The wizard shot a mote of fire that not only hit the flying horror, but spread through his body and made it fall back into the ground. A good signal, he decided turning on its direction. He had no idea the creature was that hurt.
“Don’t heal me before I fall!” The silver haired man shouted to his companions. Used on someone unconscious healing magic could bring one from the brink of the death, give enough breath for at least one more spell, one more attack. Used on someone still standing it would hardly give enough energy for one to resist the next assault. He had learned as much the hard way. “And nice shot, wizard!”
A rogue smile took his lips as his eyes flashed silver. Two beams of crackling, argent energy cut through the air. Then, two more. Channeling most of his energy, Ilithir had performed the spell a second time, faster than it should be possible.
Notes: Ilithir spends his action to cast Eldritch Blast then spends two sorcery points to use Metamagic - Quickened Spell and spend his bonus action to cast a second Eldritch Blast. If Ilithir is target by an attack between 19 and 23 he will use his reaction to cast Shield. Spell slot and sorcery points marked on the sheet.
Tapping into whatever internal source powers his magic, Illithir, dripping with blood from multiple lacerations, sends four crackling beams of energy arcing through the air towards the creature. Three of them hit... But one would have been more than enough. As the magic slams into the burnt and beaten beast, making a last ditch attempt at escape, you hear bones crack from the impact, and it tumbles out of the sky. Its momentum carries it forward a little more, and it crashes to earth about 80 feet from you, dirt and wheat spraying into the air.
It lies still.
The crackle of burning stacks of wheat is the only sound, as people begin to venture out to the fields to see what has happened.
Ghurr moves forward to the downed peryton and pokes it a few times with his glaive to make sure it's not faking. Once he's assured himself that the beast is no longer part of this plane, he turns back to his companions to check on them.
"Who hurt bad?" Ghurr asks. But he can see that Illithir is obviously in some trouble.
He approaches the aasimar and places a hand on the man's shoulder. Ghurr's toes clench and curl in his boots as he feels the power of the life teeming in the soil pass some of its energy through his body and then into Illithir.
"Maybe keep you standing until get rest."
Ghurr uses Lay on Hands to heal Illithir for 20HP.
He looks around the clearing to see if there was anyone else in trouble.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mala walks slowly over to where Ghurr and Illithir have gathered. "I'm not really hurt. I think Illithir bore the brunt of the attacks." She continues over to where the flying creature landed, looking it over briefly for any interesting markings or similar items. (Investigation: 6).
She will then look up and assess those people venturing out into field, as well as the fires and whether they might pose a danger.
Thurodim too hurries over to the crash site, standing briefly growling with frustation before swinging Skullcleaver to sever the neck of the heart-ripping beast, just to be sure, but mostly to get out some of his frustration. He then walks around grunting to himself, collecting his useless javelins before calming down and returning to the others. "Not a scratch Ghurr." He says with deep disappointment in his voice. "You did good Ilithir, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you when I should." He then says to the silver-haired elf, his head lowered in shame. He then turns to help Mala with the fires and the townsfolk, hoping to be of some use there at least.
