Ezio sheathes Nightfang and stands. "I, for one, could do for a rest as well. My spells were completely ineffective during this fight. I have some new ones I've been working on, it's time I completed them." The half-elf is clearly annoyed at his lack luster performance and determined to remedy the issue. "I will also take some time to identify that spear, there's a high probability it's cursed. It was being wielded by the pet demon of a necromancer, after all." Ezio inspects Jobul's body for anything else of use as Yellow prays over the other corpses and then leaves with her after taking anything of use he happens to find.
As Yellow collects her two javelins and begins praying over the dead, Ezio goes over to Jobul's body and searches it but finds nothing. It seems he left everything outside in his pack except the tube he had hidden in his clothes that you know Panwan grabbed.
As everyone makes there way outside it is drizzling and the sun is shining. You make your way back to camp and Panwan leans against the cliff and sits down. He notices the spear in Taggarts grip for the first time and smiles. "Take care of that spear and it will take care of you. It was Jobuls"

Disappointed with his performance in the recent fight, Kvothe spends the first hour exercising and practicing strikes with his sword muttering to himself “you can’t do damage if you don’t hit first”. Having completed his exercises and when he gets a chance to speak to Panawan quietly he says “I don’t normally do this but I’ve seen some incredible acts of bravery for soldiers of the Order since I’ve been here – starting with the soldier I rescued from the patrol. But Anthoy’s bravery in the last fight, when he obviously terrified, was of a much higher order. Is there any way that the Order can recognise his bravery and inform his family that he died a ‘hero’?”.
He then says I will take first watch and settles down with his back to the cliff. He continually scans the jungle, river and sky above for any sign of potentially threatening movement.
When everyone is outside an once again gathered around Anthoy's campfire, Ezio addresses the group, "That battle was hard fought and well won, though my own efforts were lacking which I intend to remedy this very night. We will rest, I suggest you others tend your wounds and gather your strength as well. In the morning, we can decide what to do, if anything, about this necromancer. We'll need to set a watch to ensure he doesn't attack us in the night, but down here on the beach is still much safer than sleeping up there with the Grung." Ezio points towards the top of the cliff face. "I will take second watch as my work will take some time. Decide the rest of the schedule amongst yourselves, if you please." Ezio walks to his pack, past Anthoy's body. He looks at the corpse briefly, casts a spell to clean it of any blood or viscera and continues on.
Seeing Panwan approach, Ezio look turns towards the man.
"This rest is fine, but if you don't go after that necromancer, I will go myself."
"Ah, our guide makes demands and ultimatums yet again. I am beginning to wonder if there isn't a symbol of the Order tacked to my clothes somewhere." Ezio searches himself exaggeratedly, "No, it doesn't seem there is, I appear to be my own man un-beholden to the Order as are most others here. We made a deal with your commander to secure the tube and sanctify the undead lair, not quest against every evil we encounter is this gods-forsaken jungle. I will aid you in this endeavor with the necromancer and suggest that the others do the same, but I expect your commander to reward us for these additional, unnecessary, risks when this is done."
"That's between you and the commander. I just told you what I'm going to do, what you all decide is your own business."
"Great! Sounds like we have a deal." Ezio says facetiously, "Since you're here, what do you know of Jobul's spear. Does it have any properties that will aid us?"
"I only know that he enjoyed fighting undead with it and it glowed we they were close."
"I see." Ezio looks towards the spear in Taggart's hand. "At least it's not cursed. Well, I have work to get to, thanks for the pleasant conversation, as always."
Ezio, if you want to identify this you are welcome to, I’m not that used to using a spear I just didn’t want to leave it behind. Taggart will offer the spear to Ezio.

Panwan shakes his head as Ezio walks away. "Windbag, he sure loves to hear himself talk. I should kick his ass and put him in his place."He says to no one in particular.
Alone with his thoughts, Ezio unfastens his spell book from the strap that holds it below his right hip. He runs his hand over it's black leather cover, feeling the embossed raven and lion on its cover in a stylized duel. Before he can open it, Taggart approaches offering Jobul's spear to be identified. Ezio explains he will do so as soon as he's worked out a certain spell and sets it to the side as Taggart continues on with his activities for the night.
Opening his book, Ezio turns to a page full of complex symbols and formulas, studying several before drawing Nightfang from its sheathe. Switching focus between his book and the sword, Ezio puzzles through many notations, correcting and adding some to the book. After a couple of hours, he seems complete. Holding the katana, he incants in Sylvan while forming a sign with his free hand. The black sword begins to unravel into wisps of smoke like shadow until completely disappears, even the sheathe is gone. Ezio grins widely.
Picking up the spear, Ezio identifies it with a ritual spell. Ezio stands and hefts it to test its balance, giving it a few swings. Having never trained with a spear his movements are awkward and he stops with a frown. Seeing Yellow and Taggart nearby, Ezio approaches the two, "I have good news, bad news, and a proposition. The good news is two-fold, first, I've identified this spear. It is enchanted to slay undead, causing additional radiant damage to them. While one who is attuned to it holds it, it shines with light while it is within 60 feet of an undead creature. Second, I have mastered a new spell unlocking the true potential of my sword, Nightfang. The bad news, is that sword dematerialized and requires me to cast a rather intensive spell for me to summon it in its pure, more powerful form. Therefore, I find myself without a weapon readily on hand and I am untrained on the spear. I propose that Yellow wields this spear and I her longsword. Taggart, your bow and bracers already make you deadly and Yellow, your shield along with this spear will make you a bain to the undead and a blessing to your companions nearby. With my training in the longsword, I can wield the full potential of that weapon against our foes. Of course, it was my gift to you, so I can not take it without your blessing. Likewise, you found this spear, so should have a say in its disposition, Taggart. What say you both?"
Spear of Undead Slaying Weapon (spear), rare (requires attunement by a by anyone that can use a spear)
When you hit an undead with this magic weapon, that creature takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage.
While you hold this weapon, it sheds bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet in the presence of any Undead within 60'
Proficiency with a spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
Taggart sets up his rain catcher for the night. He sits down to eat and drink some water. I’ll be ready to assist with third watch if needed. He tells the party before he lays down to rest. Kaslo spends some quiet time at the river back reflecting back on what has happened over the last few days and especially coming face to face with his worst nightmares and fears that he thought he had kept hidden. As he fishes, he doesn't notice the few bites he got on his line and after an hour he comes up empty from the fishing expedition.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yellow scrutinizes the spear in Ezio's hand and then nods at him. "I agree that this trade is in the best interest of Chult," she says, handing Ezio the sheathed vicious longsword and taking the spear of undead slaying. She hefts the weapon and swings it a few times to test its weight and balance. Looking it over once again, she begins to grin, but the grin does not meet her eyes. She stands at attention, holding the spear before her in her open palms and says, "With the aid of Jobul's weapon, with the aid of the Order, and with the aid of this group of mighty warriors, I will avenge all my brothers who have fallen to this undead plague." She raises her hard eyes and looks around the group. "I swear that with my last breath, I will fight. I will fight to defend my home, my heart, my Chult. As Ubtao is my witness, I now dedicate my life to vengeance." Without warning, she does a complicated maneuver where she swings the spear in several arcs before and behind her and then ends in a half crouch with the tip of the spear stuck in the ground at her feet. She turns once again to Ezio and nods again. "I shall take first watch."
Panwan watches Yellow's proclamation, smiles, and gives her a nod when she is done. "You make the Order proud Chevall. I will make sure the Commander has heard of your deeds and that of Anthoy as well. That man faced his fears and died a true member of the Order. Everyone rest, Tomorrow we get vengeance on the necromancer for terrorizing the people of Chult and causing much bloodshed and pain. When we are done if you wish to go back to Camp Vengeance, Chevall Yellow will take you. I will continue onward and face the undead lair that was our mission and cleanse it while you can go back and inform the Commander of what happened here and that we have avenged our fallen brothers. You can tell of Anthoy's exploits and let him know that I have gone on ahead to finish the mission."
Panwan closes his eyes and is asleep in moments. The night goes by without incident and you all train your new skills and talents. You wake up refreshed and fully rested, ready to take on the world.
My blood calls to me, urging and driving me with desire to destroy the undead. I will go with Panawan. Taggart takes an arrow and makes a small slash on his hand. He then grips his bow and you see a golden flash as he imbues it with his new Rite of the Dawn. His Hunters Bane against undead heightens his senses in preparation for the coming conflict. We agreed, maybe without much choice, but agreed to do this. We should see it through to the end.
After waking, Ezio cleans his things with Prestidigitation, applies a cooling effect to his jacket with the same spell, and puts on inset repellant. After washing down a quick meal of rations with water, he joins the others in the conversation about their next move. "While I maintain no internal, possibly suicidal, drive towards abominations and lairs of evil, I do agree that continuing with the mission is the best option. Our deal was to sanctify the lair in exchange for information on the Soulmonger. That's not to mention that the lair itself may contain such information. If we were to return now, empty handed, we may receive nothing and still have risked everything."
Krav woke slowly. He stayed up late into the night, reading and rereading the book he had grabbed from the chest...two days ago? It seems like so much longer to the dwarf. Krav packed up quickly, put on bug spray and consumed some of his rations, then put on his pack and joined the others.

Krav nods solemnly.

Kvothe wakes from his rest, applies some insect repellent, drinks water and eats some rations. He repacks his pack with all the items he had previously taken out and says "Lets go. We need to clean out this lair, chamber by chamber, starting with the one with the cleft in it."
Ezio sheathes Nightfang and stands. "I, for one, could do for a rest as well. My spells were completely ineffective during this fight.
