Mixtli will follow behind the others, giving Miallee time to enter stealthy, and the others to take up their stance.
As soon as he is in he will look around for anything that looks like it might be seen as a turn off/on switch.
Perception: 17
If nothing is seen on first sight he'll start investigating a workbench or table
Investigation: 15
((btw, I think the protector cannon will be on Dains shoulder or back. Each turn I will use my BA to give everyone within 10ft of Dain d8+4 temp hp; Doesn't stack so take highest of what is rolled and what you have.))

Mialee slips in first, the clutter of the laboratory ahead of her, work benches, shelves, almost every horizontal surface cluttered with something, though the floor is surprisingly clear. Straight ahead, near the right hand wall of the lab, she can make out a figure in an easy chair, presumably the expired researcher. The entry way extends along the left before a corner that opens up into the main floor of the lab, it is from there that there are some crunching sounds.
The others file in behind the stealthy elf, as Tandor receives a sending from Gilbert.
"This guy's not so bad, I think the construct thinks I'm her cat! I've got it distracted!"

Tandor moves as quietly as his armor permits to search the body of the researcher. "Gilbert's got the construct distracted for now," he says quietly as he moves.
As you make it up past the corner, where it turns opens up into the rest of the lab, you see that Gilbert has been placed on a small side table with a scratching post, cat tower and most importantly for him at the moment, bowls of water and food, of which he is availing himself. The construct seems to be watching him, and has its back to you at the moment. Gilbert pauses in his eating to meow and paw at the construct to keep its attention. A large metal finger extends and scritches his ears.
True to the description by the previous crew, it looks like a suit of armor, but without anyone inside, and without chain covering the articulating joints, instead a soft purple glow emanates from those regions. It doesn't have any weapons visible other than its gauntleted fists.

As Dain advanced further into the laboratory, his eyes fell upon the curious scene before him. Gilbert, their feline companion, seemed to have found himself in rather comfortable accommodations. Dain couldn't help but offer a soft chuckle at the sight, silently appreciating Gilbert's adaptability in any situation. However, what truly captured Dain's attention was the construct itself. Its appearance, as described by the previous crew, was certainly unusual—an empty suit of armor with a soft, purple glow emanating from its joints. It appeared to be watching Gilbert closely, and the interaction between the two struck Dain as odd. Drawing upon his magical talents, Dain cast the Message spell to communicate with Tandor, who was nearby. His voice echoed in Tandor's mind with a careful and contemplative tone, reflecting his dwarf's deep intellect. "Tandor," Dain's message began, "I can't help but think that this construct is acting strangely. It doesn't seem overtly dangerous, and I wonder if we should consider trying to communicate with it before resorting to aggression or shutting it down." Dain's suggestion was marked by a sense of curiosity and a desire for a more peaceful resolution. The construct's interaction with Gilbert had piqued his interest, and he was keen on exploring the possibilities before taking any drastic action.
((I missed some of the posts at the top of this page when I responded as Gilbert, but despite earlier statements about not trying to be sneaky, it seems the party is trying to be sneaky, so let's have stealth checks from those who have not already rolled them?))

ooc: Tandor was not planning to be stealthy but, upon learning how successfully Gilbert had been, he realized the opportunity to learn something safely still existed :).
Muttering a prayer to Pelor to aid him, Tandor tried not to clank too much as headed for the researcher's body.

"Good idea. Any idea how to go about that?" he replied to Dain.

Navigating the clutter of the workshop isn't easy while fully armed and armored, especially with some of the debris being curiously piled on workbenches, tidy piles of broken glass, dented labware placed atop books. Perhaps it was a foot scuffing the stone floor, perhaps an elbow brushing a table, and jostling some glasses, but the construct stops in the act of scratching Gilbert.
"You and your friends are terrible at moving quietly, I should give you all lessons!", Gilbert's thoughts come through to Tandor's mind.

Gilbert paws at the hand, to try to get it to resume scritches, but the helm swivels over its right shoulder to regard you, as the whole construct lifts slightly off the ground, the rest of the body rotating to its left to join up with the helm in facing you.
"Want me to jump on its back?"

"We've attracted some attention," he whispers to the others as begins searching the body.

((Tandor is leaning over the body as the construct turns, hasn't had much of a chance to rifle through her pockets or the like. Liber isn't sure how this creature is powered, but there is a mix of abjuration, conjuration and transmutation involved.))

Tandor moved in behind Dain, his mace ready, shield primed, spells on his lips. He winced slightly at the wet smacking sound. Gilbert? You there, pal?
"The construct may be on it's way back...I think Gilbert's had it...gonna owe him big time!" The priest spoke softly, for his companions only.
