"Work them around into that reed bed if you can!", Famh calls, pointing at the black reeds she had noticed earlier. "I can set those on fire with the charm I used before ... we'll see if they're so handy jumping out of that." Meanwhile, she tries to see if she can reach Cainneach and bandage his wounds with strips torn from her bedroll and earasaid.
Famh lay where she had been struck down, her dreams blurring strangely. Was there a tree somehow...and then seeing Cainneach lying so still on the ground...the rage and grief, the fire leaping forth from her palms, and then ... the dreams. She knew, somewhere inside, that it was all a vision of her mind called up at the last resort. She knew one of the dead things had avenged its comrade, or tried to, and torn open her veins almost at the same moment her magic had felled that comrade. But the visions seemed more real than that, and in the visions at least she was able to tend to that friend she had sworn faith to. Meanwhile her body lay on the marshy ground, now fully at the whim of Morkaan, or Gatanades, or the Old Ones, or whoever

...and they are not pleased. 1 failure.

---RETIRED HEROES' REST HOME---

Tana scrambled back from where she still stood by Fergus, gaze casting about as she took tally on her fallen companions. The earth here was far too hostile for more than one more deep calling – meaning that she would once again be left with a choice to make.
Taking in Cainneach first, he appeared to be of a slightly further distance away – his wounds seemingly flowing less so compared to Famh. Moving with a sense of urgency, Tana approaches Famh fallen form first, crouching over her figure in assessment of her injuries. Slim fingers reached into a small competent pouch tucked into her belt, pulling out a small roll of collected dried herbs and torn strips from a clean fiber blanket. Hands hovering over the largest of the injuries, Tana begins to carefully wind a makeshift bandage – hoping to staunch Famh's bleeding at the very least while considering further options.
Thatchs shaft found an eye spinning the corpse about, Cainnach lay on the ground though colour had returned to his cheeks. Tana ran over and applied pressure and a dressing to stabilise Famh.
Battered and with the remains of their fellows scattered about the ancient dead concentrated on the two warriors in melee.
(Ori's slumping body manages to dodge the incoming attack!)
The focus of Ori's gaze starts to fade again as he slumps back ti ground. Not even feeling the pressure of his body hitting the ground. The pressure he feels is the overwhelming feeling of failure as he saw Famh, the one that convinced him to join, had also fallen. He had failed another.

Almeric is near death and the red mist has descended upon him. He cannot speak or think clearly, but his elite martial training has taken over his actions. Moving as a war veteran, the Knight Capellar shows excellent in combat, continuing to block and parry the attacks of the undead. Delivering a hard riposte, Almeric aims to cut another in half.
Fergus looks on in disbelief as the ace up his sleeve falls on deaf, or in this case dead ears. He once again outstretches his hand and feels the pins and needles as he gathers the otherworldly force into a projectile once more. Firing at the weakest looking one, he moves to stand over the fallen Cainnach to try and protect him.
Thatch’s spirits begin to lift slightly as the Thralls begin to fall, even as he sees Ori go down a second time. He pulls another arrow from his quiver and draws his bowstring back, releasing another arrow at one of the Thralls engaged with Sir Almeric. There are still too many! He thinks to himself.
Cainneach remains unconscious, the sounds of battle now sounding more clear as he fights to remain on this plane of existence. Could it be that the heroes are turning the tide?
Miraculously, Cainneach's wounds have closed enough that he is no longer in immediate danger of death, at least from bleeding out. An experienced healer would likely estimate that he will awaken from his unconscious state in 4 hours without further intervention.
3 Successes (!?!?! It's been forever since I've had three good rolls in a row. Maybe fate has been saving them up for this, when I really needed them.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Famh responds to Tana's ministrations, her breathing becoming deeper and more regular as the bleeding is stanched. But her eyes remain closed, and occasionally she murmurs responses in Old Thulish in a conversation with voices no one else can hear. But she is slowly beginning to regain her basic reflexes, to respond to a touch on her brow, and Tana gets the sense that she will naturally become aware of her surroundings within 4 hours.
Giving Sir Almeric a stoic nod as the blast finishes the creature, Fergus' complexion grows paler still and his veins become pronounced and dark. As he continues standing over Cainneach, he is relieved to hear sounds of stable breathing from them.
(Dark One’s Blessing: When you reduce a hostile creature to 0 HP, you gain 5 temp HP.)

Noting the change in Famh's condition, Tana continues to place pressure on the wound – hoping that the correct amount of pressure will be enough to push Famh back into consciousness.
As she does, the movement of Ori's fall is caught in the corner of her gaze. Her brows furrow as she makes a quick note to check on him right after Famh rouses.
Cainneach remains unconscious, the sounds of battle echoing through his drifting mind.

Almeric and Fergus destroy another of the dead leaving only two still moving, though somewhat battered. Ori lies bleeding upon the ground.
Thatchs arrow catches one of the dead in a pauldroned shoulder but doesn't seem to trouble it. Cainneach and Famh are down but breathing steadily.
