(My impression was that Eithne jumped down, grabbed the barrel, came halfway up the stairs, and handed the barrel to Lucian, who then balanced it on top of the vatand remained on top of the vat. Did I miss something?)
'They come from all directions...' notes Eithne 'And that one alone has a strange staff... Is it magical? This is no good at all. The only advantage we have is that the space is tight… They can't attack all together…'
"Try to hold back the ones on the right, please" advises the savage stranger, turning her head a moment to Lucian (to her right it would be towards the west). "If you prefer, you can even just defend. They can't attack you more than one at a time - and they can't swarm us. I'll try to get rid of the one on the left,"(to her left it would be towards the east)"then I'll be back to you. Or maybe someone from below comes up to help".
The last of the dusk elf maidens then races towards Druid 3, while the Voices in her head begin to rage, outraged that their host, their only hope for revenge, is being threatened!
'Kill, Eithne! Tear them apart! You must live, to destroy the Devil Strahd!' 'They are just yet another obstacle in your path! Sweep them away!' 'Avenge us Eithne! These sowers of pain are no better than those who exterminated us!' 'Nobody messes with the dusk elf women!'
(OOC: @DM: Eithne suspects that this unusual staff could be magical - and thus dangerous... Plus the druid would be unarmed without it - right? So she would like, first of all, as soon as she reaches the druid, try to reach out, take it and snatch it from his grip. What roll should I do to perform this action? Is it a normal Athletics contest?)
The rage of the Voices pulses in Eithne's head, spreading in an instant to blood, muscles, whole body... a combined, amplified, supernatural rage, so intense it becomes physical! Her muscles visibly swell, straining the rough skins that form her dress, her azure eyes dilate to the point of threatening to pop out of her sockets, the features of her chiseled face distort in a bloodthirsty grin ...
Miladeth pounces on the druid like a beast on prey, quickly reaching out her hands to grasp his (presumed magical) staff and tugging sharply to snatch it from her hands.
(OOC: Eithne moves to the druid - already updated token's position, then rages with her bonus action, then the described contest is her action)
Well... in the very unlikely case the druid loses the contest, Eithne will then throw the staff behind her, in the middle of the group of her friends below (maybe someone can use it - and even if not, at least the druid would definitely be unable to recover it)
(My impression was that Eithne jumped down, grabbed the barrel, came halfway up the stairs, and handed the barrel to Lucian, who then balanced it on top of the vatand remained on top of the vat. Did I miss something?)
(That's how I also envisioned the scene...)
(Okay... I thought Lucian had to run down to get it, as I didn't realize the vat was close enough to the staircase for that to work. This works better though, so I'm fine with it. It means I don't have to spend my Ki point for the movement.)
Round 4
Lucian manages to guide the barrel to the top of the vat--though it was pretty clear that Eithne was doing all the heavy lifting. Once he has the barrel settled, he prepares to get off the vat only to be met with a rattling below him. Fortunately, he is able to keep his feet and not be knocked down... but if the Druid could still use that much force from within her prison... He looks to Eithne, "Uh... I'm not sure this is going to work... She might get out if we don't put something heavy enough on here..."
Though Eithne seems unbothered by this, asking him to deal with some of the new threats that were flowing into the room. Just defend? ... "I... uh..." He swallows, doing his best to push the worry out of his voice. He doesn't want to just defend, knowing that simply defending just prolongs the inevitable. No, he'll have to trust that he's swift enough to dodge and strike at the same time. He'll have to trust his training, "I'll take care of it!" He says firmly, clearly trying to force confidence into his tone.
With that, he jumps down from the vat, and rushes towards the druid. He strikes out with his fists, stepping lightly in preparation to dodge oncoming blows and realizing that this druid could actually do significant damage to him with magic if he wasn't careful. This realization slows him slightly, and his worry about avoiding damage only allows him to throw one strike as he focuses on avoiding getting hurt or worse.
(OOC: I was going to go ahead and take my action, but I'm not sure exactly where the enemy is right now because I can't see the map yet. I'll edit this post once I have access to owlbear ;) )
While waiting for you to be able to access the map again, this is the current situation on our floor, Aroc. With his movement, Lucian should be able to put himself basically where he wants, I guess... Enemies are not much far... (and by the way, yes, I am a bit worried by the druid being able to cast a spell while swimming, armed, in a closed fermentation vat - but I hope she had to do a test of some sort and got lucky... and I also hope that she might start to pass out for lack of oxygen, or drown, or inadvertently ingest some poison, sooner or later. We have nothing more heavy than the barrel to put there - unless we stay ourselves - but then the enemies would be able to come all at us... That's why I suggested to take care of the new enemies. And, of course I might well be wrong - I just hope not)
(OOC: Just saw your edit. That makes sense and I agree, Lucian's just a worrywart and so he blurted out what he was thinking in the moment. If Eithne hadn't asked him to move, he probably would have just stayed there and tried to chuck daggers at the new enemies until he ran out of knives lol.)
I apologize again for going AWOL again. I got cats last Friday and, in all honesty, I was so excited about it that I didn't sleep that night. As a result, in addition to having two new beasties to take care of, my sleep has been all sorts of messed up this week. I should have told y'all that it would be a rough week, but I didn't think it would. So, I'm an idiot. But an idiot who wants to play some D&D, okay? Again, I'm the jerk and I apologize.)
Round 4: (please don't forget to post what round you are acting in when you make an individual post)
22 - Floating above the fray, Charatakes aim and [Tooltip Not Found] at Twig Blights 4, killing two of the little monsters.
22 - Typhoon casts flame seed on the barrel with Druid 2, lighting it on fire. Cole spreads the fire over the barrel, lighting the whole thing up.
21 - Eithnerushes Druid 3. As she approaches him, she begins to feel uncomfortable, like there are malevolent forces just outside of her field of vision and they are watching her. Nonetheless, when she reaches him, she is able to grab the black staff from the druid. The wood is not soft, but it is spongy and, as she tosses it toward her companions, it leaves a smear of sap, looking and smelling like blood, on her hands. It lands beside Lenn on the floor of the room.
19 - Ravens 1 attack Twig Blights 4, killing one of them.
18 - Lenn, concentrating on casting Sacred Flame on Needle Blight 6, doesn't notice the black staff landing near him, but the sudden jolt of uncanny unease that accompanies it throws off his concentration. The spell misfires and misses all the needle blights.
16 - Lucianleaps to the balcony from the vat, rushing Druid 1. He strikes the Druid in their midsection, driving the air from their body. He then dances back, preparing to Dodge incoming attacks.
16 - Nikolaifires Ice Knife at Needle Blights 6, wounded two of the blights and another of the blights in Needle Blights 1.
16 - Ravens 2 flies forward and begins to attack Needle Blights 6 as well, swarming all over one of the creatures and damaging it.
16 - Needle Blights 1 all take aim at Lennand a barrage of needles pepper his armor and the walls around him, but he manages to remain unscathed.
16 - Druid 1 straightens up, whispers something under their breath, and brings their arms together in a clap. A powerful, loud wave of force is emitted from their hands, headed directly east. (Lucianmust make a DC 12 Con save or take 11 hp and be pushed away 10 ft. If he succeeds, he takes 5 hp in damage). It rolls out and hits both barrels on this side of the room, breaking the vat containing Druid 2 wide open. A wave of wine explodes from the vat, flooding the bottom floor. (Everyone on the bottom floor must make a DC 12 Str ST or be knocked prone; if you fail by more than 5 you will also be pushed 5 ft in a random direction)
16 - Vine Blight 1 - The green vine thing reaches out with its vines in an attempt to grab Charafrom the air, but she is able to nimbly avoid it's clumsy attempt to grapple her.
(OOC: Oh, well, guys... I threw the staff to you hoping you'd be able to use it but if it radiates such an evil... maybe just breaking it is a good idea. Feel free to do it, if you like)
Brandoes not find a safe good to cast an area spell in the balcony, and by his calculations he's also too far now to try go and help downstairs. So, between trying to attack Vine Blight 2 - thus not leaving much space for Cole to act - and trying to sneak his way up the corridor to try to discover the rest of the upper floor, he decides for the latter.
Bran's Round 4.
Movement: 30 feet up the corridor, sneaking past the open door. Hoping not to be seen by Vine blight 2 (fingers crossed).
Stealth roll: 17.
I guess I still have my action (same as it happened in my Round 3), but I'm stopping here as I'm not sure what will happen.
Lucian lets out a startled yelp as he is flung backwards, cringing as he skids to a halt 10ft away from the druid. He should have just gone ahead and struck twice instead of trying to avoid getting hit... he shutters slightly, forcing himself to stay calm, to block out the pain and the clenching feeling in his chest. The Wolf wouldn't get out now.
He takes in a shaky breath, locking his eyes on the druid in front of him. It seemed that trying to take on the defensive isn't an option with this person's magic. His best chance would be to move in quickly and strike hard hoping he can take down the enemy before they took him down...or worse. Yet his body aches--and he realizes that he's trembling from exertion rather than the usual fear that he's doing his best to keep at bay. He can't let the pain get to him, even though it's far worse than anything he's felt in years.
Round 4: (please don't forget to post what round you are acting in when you make an individual post)
22 - Floating above the fray, Charatakes aim and casts Eldritch Blast at Twig Blights 4, killing two of the little monsters.
22 - Typhoon casts flame seed on the barrel with Druid 2, lighting it on fire. Cole spreads the fire over the barrel, lighting the whole thing up.

16 - Needle Blights 1 all take aim at Lennand a barrage of needles pepper his armor and the walls around him, but he manages to remain unscathed.

16 - Vine Blight 1 - The green vine thing reaches out with its vines in an attempt to grab Chara from the air, but she is able to nimbly avoid its clumsy attempt to grapple her.
15 - Brandashes down the hallway. Through the open door, he sees a desk, a chair, a tall wooden cabinet, and a strange contraption that takes up most of the northern end of the room. The corridor extends to the east.
15 - Druid 2 stands up from where she landed after the explosion of the vat. She is somehow actually cleaner than her druidic companions, in spite of being covered in wine. She sees the twisted black staff, laughs gleefully, and grabs it, then whispers a spell to herself, resulting in her skin darkening and hardening.
13 - Druid 3 weaves his hands in the air, drawing an intricate, non-Euclidian pattern. Grasping vines erupt from the balcony floor, extending for 15 ft. behind Eithne, and wrapping themselves around her ankles and legs. (Eithne, please make a STR ST)
12 - Ravens 3 strike out at one of the blights in Needle Blight 6, swarming the creature and tearing at its body.
12 - Cracks begin to form in the patio doors under the continued attack of Needle Blights 2. They will not hold much longer.
11 - Twig Blights 4 attacks Swarm of Ravens 1, which has currently descended upon them, hitting one of the ravens and doing it some damage
9 - Needle Blights 3 wait for the patio doors to be broken down.
9 - Needle Blights 4 wait to see what Needle Blights 5 can do with the door.
8 - Vine Blight 2 also attempts to grab Chara. Thrusting vines out of its arms, he plucks Chara out of the air and, wrapping them around her, begins to squeeze. She takes 8 hp of bludgeoning damage. She is also grappled and restrained until she can escape.
4 - Needle Blights 5 seem to have found a better angle, because there is a loud cracking sound as they pummel the barred door.
4 - Needle Blights 6 stand where they have been knocked down. Moving closer to the paladin, they take aim at Lenn. But, as he is prone, they aim high and miss the holy warrior.
4 - Vine Blight 3 moves between Lucian and Druid 3 and stretches out his vines toward the young monk. Still shaken by the druid's spell, Lucianis unable to Dodge the vine blight's tentacles and he quickly finds himself trapped in constricting vines. He takes 13 hp of damage and is grappled and restrained until he escapes.

(OOC: OK, so Druid 2 has been lucky enough not to ingest poison, I guess. Plus lucky enough to land near the staff, which was not carried away by the flood of wine. OK - I can not complain, after having been myself so lucky in contests, of lately. But... did Druid 2 suffered at least falling damage? Or did she not fall from high enough? And/or thunder damage, since the vat broke - so it should not have shielded her completely? Or, in spite of breaking, the vat shielded her enough?)
Anyway, STR save incoming (with advantage thanks to rage)...
(That's how I also envisioned the scene...)

Round 4:
Well... in the very unlikely case the druid loses the contest, Eithne will then throw the staff behind her, in the middle of the group of her friends below (maybe someone can use it - and even if not, at least the druid would definitely be unable to recover it)
Round 4: Typhoon will flame seed the Druid 2 and barrel they’re standing on.
24 to hit 5 damage
Cole will use Control Flame to take those embers and light the barrel on fire, cooking the Druid.
And then use the rest of his movement to get into the stairwell
These words are smaller than the other ones.
Round 4
Nikolai will move to a position along the south wall, then fling a shard of blue ice at the Needle blight that is one square SE of the Twig blights 4.
Attack: 23 Damage: 2 piercing
Target and all other enemies within 5 feet then make DC 15 WIS save or take 10 cold damage
Sorry, that's a DEX Save, not wisdom.
