Dave-A starts to feel a little artificial warmth inside her from the alcohol, but otherwise is still mostly unaffected. Her strong constitution may be too much for the drink.
Martin looks on expectantly, then outside, then around at the people in the place and then back to the other two and then to his boots before looking back up sharply,
"You good? Like, good good? 'Cus we gotta go! If that didn't do it maybe see if they have any moonshine? Or paint thinner?"
He laughs at his own comedic wit then locks it down and puts on a serious face,
Dave-A, after four stiff drinks, isn't noticing any effects from the alcohol except for a slight warmth in his-her stomach. At the rate she's going, it might take quite a bit before she'd start to feel anything.
Martin - Marrin is still feeling pleasantly light headed and their thoughts are still jumping from love of their companions to being distracted by butterflies.
Karen - Jan is flat out drunk now (for the next two hours Jan has disadvantage on all non-strength ability checks (including concentration checks) and all saving throws but also gets +5 temporary hit points/level now - total of 20 temporary hit points) and it's unlikely anyone would even try to read her thoughts. And if they did, it's unlikely they'll get anything useful out of there.
The bartender chuckles a little at the shape Karen-Jan is in, and looks over at Martin-Marrin and Dave-A, "Sorry, I guess I was concerned about the wrong one. You'll take good care of her, right?"
As the trio get up, Karen-Jan stumbles a little and can use a bit of help navigating her way out of the tent.
The performers tents were back past the carousel and Headmaster Noon's wagon on the other side of a hedge. The group needs to exit the tent, head out into the main lane and retrace their steps.
As they do, Great Aunt Gillian - Ethel can see them head away from her towards the center of the Lintoll, weaving their way through the other visitors.
After they turn the corner, Aunt Gillian - Ethel notices a black clad Brigade guard move quickly across the lane and turn the same corner.
Dave-A smiles at Martin's response but shrugs, "Yeah, we need to get going for sure. But man, that drink hit a good spot though." she turns to the bartender, "Thanks! might be back for more" and she gives them a wink as they head out.
Offering Karen an arm as they leave the tent, Dave-a plans on leading the trio straight to the acrobatics tent unless someone changes his mind. He figures they are on a timeline and hopes the little affect the drink had on her will be enough and doesn't want to wait any longer.
"Meh, pretty normal unfortunately. Any suggestions on what I should try and think about so that they can't get a read on me as easily? This is hard for me to even grasp as to what we're walking into. I do have a nice warm feeling in my belly though, I'm enjoying that. Suppose moonshine is the way to go next time you want me liquored up." she smiles as they walk towards the performer's wagon.
Martin looks over at Dave-a appraisingly, clearly impressed. Especially with Momma-Jan barely conscious between them.
"Or more of the same!"
He shakes his greasy head in wonder before tipping a bit and needing to pull Momma to stay on track.
"Anyhow, if your thinking clear you probably should hang back and try to look drunk. Probably won't be too hard to pull off if you stay back with Jan."
He then focuses on walking for a steps around a crowd of people before blinking a couple times and coming back to the point,
"Or I can cast a spell that would, for what we want, effectively make your thoughts... drunky. Drunkish?"
As Jan bumps into him, steps on his foot and causes both of them to stumble he will comment,
[DM... Ethel notices the Brigade guard. On its face, Ethel wouldn't be surprised if the Lintoll master sent a guard to keep an eye on them... just to be sure this little pack of vigilantes doesn't do anything to endanger the fair. She would do that in their place. So she might not be alarmed by this skulking guard.
But is there anything about the appearance or behavior of the guard that might seem 'suspicious'? Perhaps an insight check? : 8]

Ethel doesn't notice anything particularly suspicious about the Brigade guard. As she surmises, it's likely just Headmaster Autumn Noon doing what he can to help without making it obvious.
The fairgoer stops momentarily when Karen-Jan yells loudly at them. "Um, this, ah, this is sugar glazed button mushrooms. It's quite good."
Dave-a indeed let's Martin cast suggestion and the strange sensation of muddled thoughts decends and she doesn't like it. She isn't used to this at all. "I'm fine" she manages to grumble, "Let's get this over with and hopefully you can stop this when we're finished. I'm still going to ha-uh, hold back? ooh" she holds her head a bit as she tries to hold herself together. A wall would be good, hopefully there is a pole or something to lean against while the others talk, she thinks.
Dave-A walks along, and for the first few steps almost needs as much help as Karen-Jan. The swirling thoughts in his/her mind take some getting used to but eventually they get used to the chaos and relate it to the somewhat loss of control they experience in the heat of battle.
Karen-Jan swipes at the mushrooms on a stick but misses and seems somewhat mollified when her 'son' says she can have some later. The fact she's drunk seems to help quite a bit in her trying to appear drunk.
Martin-Marrin, leads the other two past the carousel and the headmaster's wagon, through the hedge entrance. Following Noon's directions, the trio find themselves near a camp site with five wagons forming a semi-circle.
This is where the acrobats and some of the other performers appear to have set up their camp.
It seems quite quiet at the moment as most of the performers are in the public areas of the Lintoll, entertaining the crowds.
Headmaster Autumn Noon had suggested a wagon with an awning in the front would likely be the home of the acrobat known as Princip. That looks to be the one straight ahead at the eastern most part of the semi-circle.

Dave-A also grins at Martin, "I'd like to see you try."
He watches the bartender, obviously impressed with the show and then clinks glasses with Karen, before downing the 4th drink.

One save and d6 from Karen-Jan and you can move on to find Princip the acrobat.

Are Jan, Marrin, and Avaria heading straight into the performers area? Is Ethel staying with Bigge?
(I love the results of these rolls!)

Leaning over to Martin, "How's the head so far?"
Martin looks at Mamma-Jan with embarrassment and answers the bartender,
"Ya, thanks. We got her. Come on mom, that's enough."
Holding Mamma-Jan's other arm to keep them on course, Martin gazes with wonder at pretty much everything as her responds,
"Nice and fluzzy around the edges, how is yours?"
Martin will give a quick glance around, causing the world to teeter a bit, and say quietly,
"To the performer's wagon the tailors directed us to?"
"Meh, pretty normal unfortunately. Any suggestions on what I should try and think about so that they can't get a read on me as easily? This is hard for me to even grasp as to what we're walking into. “Oh? What kind of spell?” Dave-a is intrigued but a bit nervous at the thought

Martin then will say more quietly to Momma Jan,
"We'll get you mushroom on a stick once we get done, okay? Just gotta go over here."
Martin feels the edges of what must be the hangover headache starting as he looks over at Dave-a and widens then rolls his eyes.
"ANYWAY. Whaddya think? Wanna try it? The magic thing I was talking about."
If Dave-a agree's Martin will have them move a bit to the side and say,
"Okay, just let it happen."
Then will cast suggestion saying,
"To help us catch our target, your thoughts should probably be muddled like you've got a nice booze buzz going."
Martin will squint at Dave-a then,
"How you feeling?"

Straight on!
