Back at the Ore, Martin will ask for a washbasin to freshen up with in his room. After a few minutes Marrin will descend wearing another set of clothes, slightly nicer than her normal that looks to be perfectly tailored to her.
When Ava comes around she'll say,
"Get me those clothes you used when you can so I can. Good to have them handy should we need Dave again!"
After, she'll see to that Jan gets a new blouse without a hole and blood, as she cleans the wound and puts a light bandage on it.
Avaria enjoys getting washed up and back into her own clothes. She scrubs the other clothes as best she can before giving them to Marrin. "Well, here you are, but I hope we don't need Dave anytime soon. I like being me."
Ava pauses a moment and notices Marrin's outfit, "You look nice." she smiles as she says this, "finally a reason to get dressed up? I mean we aren't currently being hunted or imprisoned, definitely a reason to celebrate."
Maisie Stonecast raised an eyebrow at Jan as she returned, obviously still drunk. She looks like she wants to lecture Jan but remembers that she's not one of her children. Instead she brings her a hot coffee and adds a few shots from a small vial.
When Jan drinks it, she finds the effects of her drinking disappear (Lesser Restoration to cure the effects of being poisoned by alcohol).
"I hope it was worth it, dear," Maisie says. Then she chuckles a little before returning to the kitchen.
Ula waits for the group in the dinning room, where she's cleaned up as well.
"You'll live! I'm starting to get my day drinking headache if that makes you feel any better."
Marrin takes the clothes from Ava,
"Oh, no need to wash them! I was happy to do all that myself. Thanks you!"
She'll run them back up to her room then return to accept Ava's compliment,
"Why thank you Avaria, again! I'm always looking an opportunity to don some of my nicer attire. I've got even nicer stuff but I don't think a gown is appropriate given the occasion, even though we are meeting the mayor."
She looks at Ava critically,
"I don't think I have anything that will fit you any better than Dave's look did. A Dave is fine for an afternoon out but not this. We're going to need to get you some new clothes with that pirate money, I think. You always need to have options!"
She looks around for Ethel, waving to Maisie as she does, before heading out to Ula along with the others.
"Oof. Thanks. I think it was? We all got home in one piece, as long as none of us got replaced..." She narrows her eyes at Marrin, then more at Ava and Ethel, who were out of her sight for longer.
Jan cleans herself up and conjures an illusory outfit that's just a little bit nicer than what Marrin is wearing.

Avaria watches this back and forth between Jan and Marrin and finds the whole thing exhausting. "I'm fine with my clothes, they are comfortable and accomplish their purpose. Anyone see Ethel?"
Ethel sighs, pointedly, from the place against the wall where she has been leaning all this time, waiting for the others to get sorted and ready to make for the mayor's meeting.
For her own part, she still wears the borrowed outfit. You see she has done something to herself, smoothing out the scars on her face and hand and leaving herself resembling what you imagine she may have looked like prior to her illness.

Ava smiles at Marrin's reaction, "Sure sure.. we'll see." but there is a definite enjoyment in the tone of her voice. Was so good to have actual friends and not currently in a bad situation. As a matter of fact, they were about to get paid!
Surprised by Ethel's new look, she nods to the woman unsure of what to say. Avaria was pretty sure it was magic that made her scars on her face disappear, but she wished there was a way that would help her friend. Almost makes her a bit melancholy seeing her like this. But she doesn't voice any of these thoughts as she is sure it would just upset her.
As they prepare to depart, Ethel clears her throat. "Ahem. Once this is over and we have our reward, we need to have a discussion about finances. I have some thoughts, but it can wait until we actually have the mayor's gold in hand. There is no sense counting chickens before our eggs have hatched."

As the group sets out from the Broken Ore, they are quickly met by Mard and two of his guards.
"The ceremony will be in the High Gardens," Mard says as they walk west from the tavern. "We've got the two prisoners shackled just outside the garden walls so you can bring them in."
The streets are quiet for midday and many of the shops are closed. Mard mentions that so many have headed to the first day of the Lintoll that there's not much point staying open. And any that were have been encouraged to attend the mayor's show in the gardens.
Despite this, Mard does keep looking down each side street as if he's expecting trouble to jump out from anywhere.
"Mayor Lawrence was quite pleased about the opportunity to show off his tough on piracy stance."
When you turn north and head up another block, you see a low wall surrounding an immense park in the middle of the city. Groves of trees, hills, and ponds can be seen from where you are now. In the distance some sort of pavilion has been set up with banners and a stage. The murmuring of a crowd can be heard from here.
Mard leads you to a gate in the wall. Intricate wrought iron forms an archway over the stone wall. The gate itself stands open. In the street next to the gate two oxen, yoked to a covered sturdy wagon stomp there hooves. Two more guards wait by this wagon. When they see Mard arrive, they unlock a doorway in the back of the wagon and bring out the two prisoners.
Slick and Tammer glare at everyone, but gags in their mouths limit them to little more than angry grunts. Black hoods are put over their heads.
"See you in there," Mard says. He heads into the gardens with the original two guards. The ones from the wagon stay with your group.
After giving Mard a minute or two head start, the remaining guards push the pirates forward along the pathway and nod for you to follow along.

((All in about 10 silver coins - even in her state, Karen-Jan got the impression she was getting a pretty good deal on prices))
((I've deducted it from her inventory.))
Jan gets rather insistent that her companions try some of the tasty foods.

Martin doesn't need much incentive, he'll take one of everything offered and then another of the best!
"Ya, I'm a sweaty mess. Best to get presentable for the mayor."

"Owww. That stings.", Jan pouts, the energy of her buzz beginning to fade a bit.

Marrin pokes her finger through Jan's illusory outfit.
"You look nice Jan, but you are missing out on the feel of actually having a tailor outfit with a high thread count! You need some real clothes too."

"Right, right. Still important to have options! Don't limit yourself."
Avaria watches this back and forth between Jan and Marrin and finds the whole thing exhausting. "I'm fine with my clothes, they are comfortable and accomplish their purpose. Anyone see Ethel?"
Marrin gasps in feigned horror at what Ava says then chuckles.
"Ah, but they can accomplish more than the most elementary of purposes! Later, later..."
She then turns in a circle looking for Ethel, absently rubbing her temple.
"Where is Ethel? She was the one most concerned we get there on time."

Marrin says with a laugh.
"I'm willing to extend some very reasonable rates!"
