Emma takes a step back, away from the cliff. Whatever the source of the feeling, she's not jumping off for anyone. It won't do them any good, anyway. Well, maybe. It might prevent future suffering, but Emma wasn't brave enough to end her life for the greater good. She waits to see whether the man in golden armour acts, or if anything else happens.
--
Emma is easily awoken, though somewhat disoriented at first. It takes a few moments to recall where she is and who is the feline face above her. No person would be "happy" to take a watch, but Emma doesn't complain, but rather simply nods and slowly crawls out of the bedroll.
Assuming nothing special happens, Juniper should wake up at some point during Emma's watch, so Emma probably won't be waking anyone up. With Juniper's approval, Emma would go back into her bedroll and try to catch a few more hours of sleep.
As Star takes his turn to keep watch, the house seems quite and still. Then he hears the sounds of a man's voice quietly speak close behind him, "I never wanted this."

Emma watches the man, but he doesn't move, he doesn't speak. Then Emma wakes to take her turn at keeping watch. As Emma waits and listens to the sounds of the house, she hears the sounds of children running around, and laughing.

Emma might be sitting in one of the armchairs by the fire, trying to remain awake despite the tiredness. Perhaps pacing occasionally to make sure she doesn't fall asleep on the comfy chair. When she hears the voices of children, she's a little surprised. At this time of the night? Even the most energetic children who've had too much dessert would be sleeping by now. Did Rose and Thorn finally get in? Does that mean the door is now open? Emma opens the room's door, looking out into the lobby, searching for the children.
Emma looks out of the room and into the hall. There are no signs of the children, and nothing has changed in the room since everyone settled in for the night.

Juniper’s eyes focus once again and an animated, supple poise returns to her posture as she softly inhales, and transitions from her trance state to waking.
Without shifting position, she focuses on her senses, each in turn. What does she smell? Hear? Taste? (Ugh, I forgot to floss.) Feel? And finally, see?
She notices the others. Vice, sleeping while Lancelot’s head is perhaps tucked over his arm. The young Druid’s eyes linger on the curve of the fighter’s bicep for a moment, before shifting to Emma, who has just peeked into the hall. When she closes the door, the young druid meets her gaze and then rises, tiptoes across the room, and asks in a whisper, “Something?”
Unless Emma’s response suggests otherwise, Juniper suggests that the guilds woman rest. “I’ll keep watch for unwanted guests. I am rested. Enough.” She sits with her back against the door, serious, senses alert, until the others are rested too.
Emma shakes her head, but she doesn't seem certain of anything. "I thought I heard children. Running, laughing... Nobody outside, of course. I must have been drifting into a dream or something. Guess I'm no good for keeping watch." When Juniper then suggests Emma goes back to sleep, she doesn't argue for both she was tired and she had just admitted nearly falling asleep during her watch. That's what she assumes had happened, at least.
Assuming nothing extraordinary happens during the rest of the night:
A few hours later, though probably still before the others, Emma will awake once more. Not because she's well rested, as opposed to Juniper's early rise, but rather because she cannot sleep anymore. Most likely, she woke up from a nightmare, suddenly jerking to a sitting position. But unlike when Star woke her up earlier, she's now immediately fully awake, and she knows she won't be falling asleep anytime soon. She might have slept for six hours or so, without counting the time when she woke up to watch, of course. Enough to get by, but she'll probably still be somewhat tired. Not as much as last night, though.
Emma stands up, letting the bedroll fall off her as if she were shedding it. Then, after stepping out of it, she rolls it and straps it back onto her backpack, and soon there's no evidence she ever slept there at all. Then, she shoulders her backpack and walks to the door. "I'm going to the kitchen," she whispers to Juniper, "I can't sleep anymore, so I'll try to make us something to eat, a breakfast. Maybe something we can keep for later, too."
Then, unless Juniper can give her a good reason not to, Emma will head to the kitchen and try to use whatever she can find there to make breakfast for everyone. Nothing fancy, but tasty and satisfying - at least in her opinion. In addition, she'll make two small snacks (Chef feat) for later in the day. By the time she's done with all that, everyone is probably starting to wake up.
The half-elf stirs from his slumber, grey eyes fluttering open as he takes in his surroundings. Soft, long lashes cast shadows over his cheeks. He sits up, rubs the sleep from his eyes, momentarily disoriented, confused by the fact that he is lying on the floor, on top of his bedrolls. For one second he expects to hear the circus master’s call to pack up their tent, get the animals ready and move onto the next town. But the warmth of Lancelot’s body reminds Vice of where he is, and he smiles at the comfort the hound brought him through the night. The aroma of food wafts in from the kitchen, reminding him of his basic needs, and he gathers himself, using the wall to pull himself to his feet. Vice still feels somewhat sore, but much less tired, he is determined to face whatever the day may bring, and with a deep breath, he sets out to face the unknown.
When he steps out of the room, Vice tries to look outside, to see if the fog has dissipated. He enters the kitchen and sees Emma’s preparing breakfast, and he raises an eyebrow. He didn’t expect the guildswoman to actually cook, but he’s not going to say no to the food. “Need help?” He asks, and begins setting the table.

Emma glances over her shoulder. For the first time, she doesn't look miserable or anxious, but calm and content, if a bit tired. She then shakes her head and turns back to the food. "I can manage the cooking, don't worry." Even her tone is pleasant now, rid of worries. She seems immersed in what she does, so it might just take her mind off her worries. "But, uh, if you really feel restless, perhaps you can set a table somewhere?" She even forgets that the table is already set, or that it was the last time she saw it, at least.
((Assuming all goes as planned, that means they'll eat during this long rest, and so, everyone can get rid of the exhaustion level? Also, she'll roll one hit die to recover 6 hp. Since we just finished a long rest, this die is immediately restored, right?))
Kal finds that he cannot walk away from the tree either, he is rooted to the ground. Then he wakes up.
@Emma(FireCat5)
Emma prepares a delightful breakfast from the ingredients from the pantry.
(Eating is allowed during a long rest, so it would count to removing the exhaustion level. That would be correct, at the end of a long rest you both spend and regain hit die.)

Vice moves the food on the table somewhere else, still doesn’t want to touch it, having no idea who made them, especially it’s been left there all night. Setting the table, it reminds him of the time when he worked at a fancy alehouse, serving travellers and locals food and drink. During that period he did pretty any job he could get his hands on. He helps Emma bring the food when she’s finished.
Kal lies where he is for a moment, thinking about the dream, before finally banishing it from his mind with a shrug. He sits up and looks around at the others. "What time is it?"
“I don’t usually eat until the sun is high overhead,” admits Juniper, “and I ate as much as I need last night. But…,” a warm smile breaks like a beam of sunlight through clouds, “that smells so good, Emma. Maybe I’ll have just a taste.”
She enjoys the meal with the others, but after the initial pleasure has passed, a shadow passes over the young druid’s face once again.
“I dreamed last night. And…,” she looks around the table, wondering who among her captive colleagues knew anything about elves, “and, you may know that elves, while we meditate, or trance… we control our dreams. They lie on the surface of our consciousness like…,” her eyes take on a soft starlight glow as she thinks, “... like a leaf floating on a stream. But I couldn’t control this one. I dreamed snow fell around me as I stood on a mountaintop. A temple stood nearby, enclosing some nameless evil which called to me silently. I would have entered to explore the meaning of this symbolism, but I could not make myself. It’s hard to explain but it wasn’t pleasant at all. Like wanting to say something but your mouth is being forced shut.”
Another clue that we are imprisoned here as a mere joke to some power we can’t comprehend.
The group spends time eating the breakfast prepared by Emma. Now after having a proper long rest overnight and eating, everyone is feeling better and more alert. All that is left is to find a way out of the house.
(Remove 1 level of exhaustion, if you haven't already)
