Juniper carefully descends the staircase, evading most of the insects she encounters. She eventually reaches the bottom of the stone stairs without making a sound.
Kal, who watched Juniper intently, slowly takes his path down the crooked steps, he reaches the bottom just as she did.
At the bottom of the steps, Juniper and Kal stand in front of a large room filled with wooden racks. A bucket hangs from a chain at top of the well set into the centre of the room. Alcoves line the walls, their moulding straw mattresses piled high with padlocked chests.
A chorus of groans and gurgles bounces off the steel support beams of the well, a strange rhythm that makes Juniper and Kal shiver.

Vice follows Juniper down the stairs, his hand tightly gripping the hilt of his sword. He surveys the room, taking note of the wooden racks, the bucket hanging from the chain, and the alcoves lining the walls. "This place gives me the creeps," The half-elf mutters under his breath. The claw wound on his neck still throbs with pain. He goes to examine the chests and sees if he can open any.
Star follows, fourth in the group. Insects don't trouble Star, they are a part of life where he is from. Several of their most desired delicacies are made from insects. He eyes up the crawling mass, trying to decide if any of them would taste good with a little seasoning, and decides probably not.
At the bottom of the stairs Star takes in the new room. He peers down the well, listening to the strange noises. He mutters to himself "Well, well, well..." Are the noises from something living, or are they from something normal that coincidentally sound living? Eg water sloshing down a drain.

Vice approaches the chests and finds that they are not locked. In one chest, he finds some personal artefacts, but also eleven gold pieces and sixty silver pieces in a pouch made from human skin. In another chest, he finds three moss agates in a folded piece of black cloth, along with some useless junk.
Meanwhile, Star approaches the well to look inside. Suddenly a hand plunges out of the darkness to grab Star's wrist. From down in the black waters, Star sees a rotted face splitting into a fanged, yellow smile. Another ghoul.

As stated before, Emma was following after the last person, but keeping a short distance away. She seems mostly unbothered by the bugs, taking care not to step on them if possible but nothing more than that.

"Star, get away!" Vice says as he sees the ghoul's bony fingers wrap tightly around Star's arm, dragging him towards the well's gaping maw. He charges towards the well, the sound of his boots clattering against the stone floor. He unsheathes his shortsword in one swift motion, his grip tight on the hilt as he swings it at the ghoul's outstretched arm.

The cumulative emotional effects of the last 24 hours of fear and uncertainty reach a tipping point for Juniper when the ghoul in the well attacks Star. The young elf feels life force exploding inside her, and recognizes what happens next. She quickly turns her head to hold Emma’s eyes, and says “IT’S ALL RIGHT,” with utter conviction. Then turning back toward the ghoul, she intones, “Rillifane Rallathil i Selûne! Natho Naneth TOLTHA GRÖG!!”
The last words are a roar, for the incantation and rush of energy have transformed Juniper into a 600-pound brown bear. Her weapons and gear now appear as markings or colorations on her fur: the shield and mace, black patches on her shoulders; her bow, a long pair of black pin-stripes running the length of her spine. Her family crest henna tattoo is traced in amber around one eye.
She surges forward, roaring, her teeth and claws tearing at the undead creature.
(N.b: Combat Wild Shape allows transformation as a bonus action; brown bears multi-attack.)

Vice rushes in to try and save Star from the ghoul. He swings shortsword at the ghoul's arm. However, in the chaos, Vice misses the Ghoul's arm.
After speaking with Emma, Juniper uses her druidic powers to shift into a brown bear. She then moves into attack the ghoul. She misses when she tries to bite the ghoul, but she manages to strike the ghoul with her claws.
The ghoul attempts to strike at Star with his claw.

Juniper locks wide eyes with Vice and nods. The sound is giving her the creeps too. She looks for another way out of the room.

Kal goes on the alert when he hears Star's yell, immediately readying an eldritch blast to loose at whatever threat is at hand.

(Kal can see the ghoul, but would count as being behind three-quarters cover.)
Kal blasts the ghoul with a casting of Eldritch Blast. However, the blast strikes the side of the well, leaving the ghoul unharmed.
