Vice is struck by the creature's claws and he feels the effects of the ghoul's toxins running though his body. He feels himself no longer being able to move.
(Vice can repeat the check at the end of his next turn. Star's turn.)

Star smiles as Emma returns to the room, but does not answer. In truth, it's just what he knows, bolstering people to be brave before a hunt, or giving encouragement during the lean times. And he can see the story in play here - Emma would not be here if she were not important, and he believes that with all of his heart, believes it about all of them here.
Following after her, he sees the slavering creature slash out at Vice, who winces as his joints lock up.
"So you are a ghoul," Star calls out. "You should check your coin purse - I have heard that a ghoul and his money are soon parted." As the spell woven in his words takes hold and the ghoul falls laughing, a horrible croaking gurgle of a laugh, Star permits himself a small chuckle too. That was quite funny, and he is proud of himself.
“Vice! NO!,” Juniper shouts as the ghoul’s claws render Vice helpless.
The slight-shouldered elf rushes to Vice, reaches up to his shoulder with her free hand, and pulls him away from the ghoul, then, raising her shield protectively, stands between the ghoul and Vice, flinching as Kal’s second bolt flashes past and crashes into the undead.
“Emma! Vice is poisoned! Help!”
(OOC: Move to Vice, grapple him — automatic success, because he is incapacitated — move him five feet away from the ghoul and then move herself back to engage the ghoul.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"What am I supposed to do?" Emma calls back. At this point, standing right next to the putrid living corpse, fightin the urge to puke is most she can think of. She barely even notices that the bravery she was imbued with has already vanished, about when the ghoul started to... laugh?
Not to mention, one hand holding the only light and the other strapped to her shield, there's very little she can do. So instead, while shouting: "Pelor take you!" Emma kicks the ghoul's head, with great disgust.
Emma kicks the ghoul in the head. The creature's head snaps back and strikes the hard floor underneath it. As the head strikes the floor, there is the sound of bone cracking and the ghoul lies motionless.

Emma remains standing where she is, oblivious to Juniper's call for help, and anything else around her. Her breath is heavy and shallow, her heart feels like someone is squeezing it and she feels her eyes getting wet, her vision going blurry. She... killed it. She didn't mean to. No, that's not accurate. She wanted it gone, she wanted everyone to be safe. But executing that wish... her body did it on its own. It wasn't exactly like before, and yet the feeling was similar. It was close, she somehow knew, even though she couldn't say why. Close to losing control, just like that time.
In an attempt to move away, to run away from that which she just killed, Emma stumbles backwards, but her eyes remain fixed on the corpse even though she can hardly see through the tears. A few steps back, and her back hits a solid rock, and the wall prevents going any farther. Emma slides down to a sitting position. "I... killed it," she murmurs in fright, but barely audible. Then, burying her head between her arms, she begins to weep silently.
(Order;
Kal, Juniper,Emma, Vice, Ghoul,Star)As Star sees Emma come past, he casts heroism on her. A sense of bravery fills Emma.
With a new sense of bravery, Emma returns back to the fight.
Taking the opportunity to strike, Vice attacks the ghoul. He manages to do moderate damage to the ghoul which the creature is not pleased about.
The ghoul retaliates against Vice with a swipe of its claws.

Star follows behind Emma to catch up with the rest of the group. He then casts Hideous Laughter on the ghoul.

The ghoul begins to let out a burst of uncontrollable laughter. It continues to laugh as it falls to the ground prone.

((Is Vice still paralyzed?))
(As it's an effect from the claws rather than from concentration, I think Vice still has to pass a CON save.)

(Yeah, he will be paralysed for one minute unless he makes a con cave.)
With the ghoul now dead, and Vice still lying on the ground, it gives the rest of the group the opportunity to investigate and explore the room.

Juniper sets her shield down beside her and sits on the floor with Vice, keeping his paralyzed body safe, his head in her lap.
“He can’t speak or move,” she says to Emma, her eyes wide, her brow taut.
“Vice!”
She tries to revive him. She senses that it is beyond her ability to end or improve the condition using druidic magic.
Will the paralysis be permanent, she wonders? Medicine: 17.

Juniper examines Vice and determines that the paralysis will only be temporary. He just needs a moment to rest and recover.
