Juniper looks at Emma and Kal, and Star. A goodbye. Just in case.
The slight-shouldered elf still holds Walter's swaddled form. With her other arm, she picks up Lancelot. Her chin lifts up, points up to the roof, and her eyes grow misty -- or rather, a green, cloaking mist, like a powder of tree pollen, seeps out from her eyes in graceful swirls, spins around her body, spins faster and tighter, then disappears in a thin strand, taking Juniper with it.
A similar occurrence, in reverse, takes place on the roof. A hair of green mist appears, spins, thickens to a column two feet wide, then vanishes. In its wake, the elf is revealed on the roof (misty step).
"My rope is in my saddlebag or I would lower it down," she calls down to the others. She tries not to think about Foxglove and what might have befallen him in the day -- or days -- since she last saw him. "I will tell you what I find."
Juniper places Lancelot down -- if the roof will hold him -- and walks, or climbs, to the far side of the house, or really, to any side where there is no escarpment. Where there is a way out.
"I have a rope," Kal calls up to Juniper. "Is there something to tie it off to up there? I can use my mage hand spell to pass it up to you."
"I will if there is some way to get away. If the house is completely surrounded by cliffs…,” she shakes her head, leaving the thought incomplete. She continues to the other side of the roof.
Taking a quick glance around before attempting to pass the rope up, Kal realises that the cliff below is just an illusion. He works out that it would still be risky to attempt to jump down from the house, but it should be possible to lower themselves from the balcony to the real ground below.

Kal calls back up to Juniper, "Hey, hold on." He looks back down over the side of the balcony. "I'm sensing illusions below the balcony here. I don't think it's an actual cliff, I think the real ground is there, just disguised!" Digging through his bag, he pulls out a torch, which he lights and drops over the edge to see what happens.
Emma followed Juniper and Kal up the house to the balcony, but the dread left her rather helpless when faced with the cliffs. But now, as Kal claims it is an illusion, Emma leans on the railings (I assume there are railings? Otherwise, she's trying to look down from a rather safe distance) to look at the torch as it falls, to see what happens to it. Is it true, that the cliff is an illusion, is there finally hope for them?
(OOC: Hey, I'm back now. I should be able to post somewhat frequently from now on.)
Emma hears the soft sound of the torch landing on the grassy ground beneath the balcony. Then she notices a few flames beneath illusion as the grass starts to catch fire.

For a moment, Emma is filled with relief. Finally, a sliver of hope. "I heard it land!" She exclaims in excitement. "There's grass in there! Kal was right!" But then, when a tongue of flame appears, Emma's face falls. "The fire is spreading! We must get down there quickly before the flames get too fierce."
If there is something to tie a rope to, Emma will untie her rope from her bag and tie it so everyone can climb down. "Come on down!" She calls, especially to Juniper still on the roof. Then, after verifying the rope is tied well, she tries to climb down.

(OOC: Any update for Juniper? She was heading to the other side of the roof.)
(@DandDSince1973, I would have thought she would have come back.)
Juniper carefully makes her way up and over the roof. Looking down she sees that the house is surrounded by cliffs.
After seeing this depressing sight she does return and is struck with relief when Emma and Kal shout up to her. But her rope remains in her saddlebag, on her probably dead pony, Foxglove.
Juniper’s heart suddenly pangs for the poor creature.
”Foxglove!,” she shouts from the roof above Emma and Kal. “Can you hear me?”
Emma carefully climbs down the rope and soon disappears from Juniper and Kal's sight. However, to her, she quickly sees that the real ground is hiding beneath the illusion.

"The ground of the outside, we're saved!" Emma calls once she lands on the solid ground. "Come down, it's safe!" She'll then try - if possible and safe - to pick up the torch and extinguish the grass it set alight.

Upon dropping the lit torch, Kal and Emma watch as it drops from the balcony before disappearing from sight completely only a couple of feet below.
