If he can get line of sight on the ghoul, Kal will move just close enough to fire off an eldritch blast at the creature. If he can not get line of sight, he'll cast Protection from Evil and Good on the Person in the front of the group that is closest to the ghoul.
Eldritch blast if it can be cast: Attack: 21 Damage: 12
Juniper moves to the square immediately south of Vice before dodging, shield up. She peers into the darkness behind the ghoul. Can she hear or see any more foes on the stairs?
Limited by space, as well by the fact that both her hands her occupied, and more than anything, her lack of any real experience in combat against whatever that monster was, Emma presses against the wall to let the others pass. At the same time, she slowly walks back to allow anyone to pass unbothered. It might strip the room where all the action occurs of any light sources, but given how the rest were unbothered by the darkness, she hoped they'll be fine.
(Dodging, and using movement to walk back past Kal and Star so she doesn't get in their way later.)

As the ghoul slowly turns its head, Vice catches a glimpse of its undead eyes glowing in the darkness, sending shivers down his spine. His muscles tense, and he feels a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. He knows there’s nowhere to run, and the rest are no fighters. The stench of death and decay fills the air around him, and he feels his muscles involuntarily tense up. The sound of his own heartbeat feels deafening as he takes a step forward, his body instinctively preparing for the coming battle.
With a quick twirl of his wrist, Vice draws the other shortsword, his eyes fixed on the ghoul's approach. “Stay behind.” He says quietly to others. He takes a deep breath, steadying himself for the fight ahead. There's no room for hesitation now. With a swift step forward, he lunges towards the ghoul.

(Since you posted before BritGeek and he posted that I did the protection from good and evil on you since I couldn't get LoS for the eldritch blast, you could potentially do a different action instead of dodging, because the protection from good and evil will already impose disadvantage on the ghoul's attacks)
Hopefully he will have time to do that before the ghoul appears.
At the sound of Juniper's scream he will run back up the passage to the new room. If he is able to react quickly enough he will cast faerie fire centred to light up only the ghoul.
The faerie fire doesn't happen as Star is too far away to see what is going on.
He peers down at the names revealed from beneath the years of dust. "Gustav..." he mutters to himself. "Elisabeth..."
Then a scream, and a flurry of movement from the others. Star follows up the corridor, finding himself behind Emma. As she edges back past him he asks "What is happening? Is there another spirit?"
Kal steps into the room as the others move out of the way, able to get a look at the ghoul. He gathers a ball of energy in his hand before releasing it to streak across the space towards the ghoul.
“Vice!,” Juniper yells a warning as the ghoul’s claws slash at the gray-eyed fighter. The young druid flinches when Kal’s energy bolt shoots across the room.
‘I’m not doing any good here,’ she thinks, emboldened by the magical protection Kal’s spell granted her. Grimacing, shield still raised, she moves forward to engage the ghoul. Rather than attacking it herself though, she feints and attracts its attention, hoping to create an opening for Vice.
(OOC: action: Help Vice, giving advantage to his next attack. Status - still protected by Protection from Evil and Good.)
As Emma pushes past him Star places his soft hand on her upper arm. "Whatever it is, I am sure it is nothing you cannot overcome, Emma. You have nothing to fear." Into these words he interlaces the heroism spell (if Emma is willing...)

Vice's heart races as he moves with practiced ease, dodging the ghoul's razor-sharp claws. He feels like he got lucky there, but his attention is also divided by his concern for Juniper. Despite this, he takes comfort in knowing that she's by his side. With Juniper's distraction drawing the creature's attention, he sees his chance to strike.
"Why do you put so much faith in me?" Emma asks, feeling like either she or Star are completely misunderstood by the other. "Nothing good can come out of my presence!" And yet, emboldened by Star's spell, her various fears somewhat dimmed, Emma turns back and runs back to where Vice, Juniper and Kal are fighting the ghoul.
(Looks like she'll have to dash to get there, so that will be her action. Then she should have enough movement to end up just next to Vice.)

Kal pushes past Emma to cast Protection from Evil and Good on Juniper before moving back behind Emma.
The are no others in the room, just one lonesome ghoul.

"I don't know", Emma answers, her voice a little shaky, as is she. "I didn't see much, but even Juniper was afraid. She said... ghoul."

Emma retreats away from the possible danger. Although she hasn't spotted the ghoul, she has seen Juniper's reactions.
Vice steps past Juniper to approach the ghoul. Then he strikes at the ghoul twice, the first attack misses, but the second hits the ghoul.
In retaliation, the ghoul strikes at the half-elf with its claws.
(Attack: 11 Damage: 5 slashing damage.)
