Zefla gasps as Burr falls out of the window, but hears him below and figures the tough brute can handle it. Turning to Victor, she points out the other window, "There is a woman out there, standing at the far side of the cul-de-sac, in a dress and overcoat.. watching. Who is she??"
She then leans out the window and looks up since that is where she heard the vampire spawn talk and attempts to jab at her with her rapier.

Attack: 21,14 Damage: 12
She then disengages with her BA and retreats back inside, moving North next to Soren to get out of the way.
Right behind Burr and Zefla, Nettle wings her way out the window, gliding in a tight loop to take the help action against the vampire spawn clinging to the manor walls and telepathically pinpointing the undead creature's exact location for Soren before flying back inside to his shoulder.
Soren in turn points for the benefit of his companions to the spot beyond the wall where it clings. "Nettle tells me the vampire creature is just there. I do not think it can enter this man-den on its own, perhaps without being invited? Instead it seeks to charm or eject us from the window. Now that Burr seems to have shaken free of its enchantment, I trust him to take care of himself down there. Let us aid him and the townsfolk from within."
Soren continues to vocalize, a wordless hymn to Silvanus' which rises sharply, then slowly descends like the mournful howl of a wolf to the moon above. A brilliant cylinder of lunar radiance forms with the vampire spawn inside its base (but stopping just above the window, so the window is clear).
He himself looks out the window for the woman Zefla described. Trying to see (or failing that, match against his memory) whether she fits the appearance of the woman Soren had seen hurrying away after spying on the group returning from the Wachter house.

Bonus Action: None Movement: After looking for the woman Zefla had pointed out, Soren steps back a few paces to give the others room.
(The next attack against the vampire spawn on the wall will be with advantage thanks to Nettle'shelp).
Giles leans his head out of the window, spotting the vampire spawn and paying attention to the location and help from Nettle. He holds his hand up and says “Child of darkness, feel the light! Be gone from here!” He points his hand at the vampire and a blast of light streaks toward the creature, striking it. As a bonus action, he focuses his mage hand in an effort to shove the creature off the roof, to the street below. Afterwards, he backs away and pulls away from the window, 10-15 feet or so.
Action : Casts Guiding bolt : 20 to hit, for 14 points of radiant damage.

One after another, the party takes the fight back to the Vampire Spawn lurking on the wall just outside the window. Zefla'ssilvered sword pierces the monster, but it barely seems to react, as if even this modified weapon is somehow insufficient to properly wound the undead horror. Sorenand Giles' attacks, on the other hand, have more dramatic effects. The skin on the Vampire Spawn blackens and cracks when exposed to their spells, revealing dark blood and cold grey flesh beneath. And unlike with Victor's warding spell, the flesh doesn't immediately begin to heal. Finally, Giles' telekinesis shoves it right of the side of the house where it tumbles back to the floor taking 6bludgeoning damage.
Back in the room, Tourmalinecalls Ireena over to her. "You! Help me with these papers. There has to be something here I can use." She begins to dig through the papers on Victor's desk. Ireena, seemingly taken aback by the command, narrows her eyes but moves closer to assist.

It seems to be carved into the floorboards, with the grooves filled in with wax and various different metals. It forms a circle of arcane letters and symbols more than 5' across.
"Be careful!"Victor shouts at Tourmaline. "You're mixing everything up!"
He opens a drawer and pulls out a heavy, corked vial. He reaches it out toward Zefla, Sorenand Giles. "Here, maybe you can try this," he offers with some hesitation as he hands a vial of Alchemist's Fire.

Outside, the battered vampire spawn rises back to its feet, but its flesh remains blistered and charred. It levels its red eyes on Burr... and then turns and flees into the night, off to the northeast. [15' remaining movement + dash.]
[Burrcan spend a reaction to take an opportunity attack against this Vampire Spawn as it flees the battlefield. That attack would have advantage from Giles' spell.]

Soren attempts to ignore the chaos within the room with the skeletal felines and Ireena and Lady Bauer rifling through Viktor's magic odds and ends. He spies circle pattern on the floor that is revealed behind the rug, wondering what kind of mage is this young man, though he has a sinking feeling he already knows. With a shudder, he declines Viktor's offered Alchemists' Fire, gesturing towards the radiant Moonbeam he is using instead outside.
"The abominations do not heal when subjected to the radiant damage that the not-Father and I just dealt. I shall keep on with the moonlight. One of you can hurl the flames if you must." Soren's terror of fire nearly makes him add please don't, but he swallows the objection before he can utter it.
To Zefla, he observes, "The female outside, not the undead, but the watcher, is the same one who was spying on us as we exited the Wachter den."
As the Vampire Spawn unhinges its jaws to bite into Burr's throat, jagged silver green beams like dappled sunlight, distracting the creature from its attack.
As a reaction on the Vampire Spawn's turn, Soren casts Silvery Barbs (no spell slot used, Fey Touched feat) to distract it and force a re-roll on the attack (Range 60', line of sight). Regardless of the result, the distraction grants Zeflaadvantage on his next d20 roll.
Nettle once again sorties out the window and flaps her wings in the face of the Vampire Spawn, granting (presumably Burr) advantage on his next attack against it on his turn. (He already has advantage on his attack of opportunity on the fleeing Vampire Spawn due to Giles'Guiding Bolt).
As the owl familiar returns to his shoulder, Soren shifts his Moonbeam over the Vampire Spawn attacking Burr, centering the moonlight on a point between it and the area just 5' to its east. (Hoping to get in the way of the other Vampire Spawn's potential path to Burr by covering one more square east).

As he struggled he tried to force the Bloodspear up and under its ribs....
Giles moves back to the window and looks down to see the vampire spawn attacking Burr. He points his hand at a point over the vampire’s head and a shaft of radiant light shoots down, hoping to strike the vampire spawn. He also directs his invisible mage hand down to shove the thing away from Burr, trying to push it to the east.

Frustrated that Viktor didn't listen to her the first time, but glad at least Soren did, she grabs Viktors arm to get his attention and points out the window again, "Who is that woman?"
She then steps up to the window and using the advantage given to her by one of the many actions (sorry, I forgot), she notches her arrow and let's it fly at the spawn engaged with Burr (unless that one is down and then she'll target the other one)

Zeflagrabs Victor and shoves him in front of the window, pointing at the strange woman, standing apart from the carnage. He shoots an annoyed glare at Zefla, clearly displeased with being manhandled. Still, he bites back his retort and takes a look outside. His eyes narrow for a moment before he responds. "No idea," he barks sharply.
Seconds later, he seems to rethink his curt answer and he responds, more conciliatorily, "I don’t know her. She’s not from here, I can say that. I've never seen her before in my life. Nobles don’t justappearin Vallaki; it's not like we get regular visitors." He rubs his temple, trying to shake off the pounding in his head from the earlier blast. "Whoever she is, though, if she’s just standing in the middle of that mess unscathed… she’s clearly not afraid of the vampires." He pulls away, removing Zefla's hand from his shoulder.
Looking back down, he asks, almost disinterestedly, "We need that one alive, right?" The he extends a hand out the shattered window, makes an arcane gesture with the other hand, and releases a blast of arcane force at the Vampire Spawn grappling Burr.
Spell Attack: 23 Force Damage: 21
Burris shaken by the impact, and he can hear the sound of ribs snapping inside the undead monster.
In the cold moonlight beam, the creature's massive wounds do not heal. It looks at Burrwith its blood red eyes, then up to those attacking it from the window. Unwilling to release its prey, it drags Burr15' west, out of the light, and then attempts to bite him again.
Bite: 19 Piercing Damage: 4 Necrotic Damage: 6 The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the vampire regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
As it drains blood from Burr, a few of the worst of the creature's burns begin to heal over.
The other remaining Vampire Spawn outside watches the battle with detached interest, then glides over to another villager and sinks its fangs into the man's throat, tearing it out completely and leaving the still twitching body on the ground at its feet.
The last of the townfolk outside clamber through the broken doorway into the Baron's home.

Soren's bares his teeth as his blood pounds in his ears in defiance and anger at the abomination that is savaging his friend Burr outside.
Almost... almost, he Misty Steps outside, but a glance at the otherVampire Spawn lurking by the door dissuades him from risking it.
"Yes, Burr must live," he answers Viktor through gritted teeth, "despite his reckless disregard for his own life, like a bear cub who has drunk fermented honey. And that woman - if she is in league with these horrors, perhaps she is a part of this Cult of Ezra that Davian Martikov described at the Wizard of Wines. In league with the darklord as Lady Wachter revealed herself to be, and likely part of the attack on the Cathedral that slew Father Lucien."
Soren continues concentrating on his Moonbeam and shifts it east east so its eastern half covers the injured Vampire Spawn that is grapping Burr but falls just southwest of Burr, hoping to provide some deterrence in case the other Vampire Spawn advances towards the melee.
As he does so, he pulls three wooden stakes from his pack. "I have heard tales of wooden stakes having some effect on vampires, though I do not know if such stories are true, or if these things we face are the same as vampires." Further inside his pack, he sees the strange rod that had impaled the creature trapped inside the chest in Lady Wachter's bedroom and wonders, shuddering, if that instead is the answer...

He also moves his invisible mage hand, positioning it above the head of the second vampire spawn near the building, planning to shove it down and prevent it from climbing if it tries to do so.

"We need to get Burr back up here if this is still a safe space! Rope?"
The party rains more spells and ranged attacks down on the Vampire Spawn. While no single attack, even Burr'smagic spear, seems to more than scratch the creature, the volume of the attacks adds up. When Zefla'sarrow takes in the back, the creature releases Burrand staggers back a step, before uttering an awful scream and dissipating into a cloud of black ash.
Giles' spectral hand shoves the last Vampire Spawn away from the side of the house. It looks up with a sneer.
Back at the table, Tourmalineholds up a scroll handed to her by Ireena. "Now... this is something. Stand aside," she calls as she moves to the window. Seeing only one Vampire Spawn close to the side of the house, she holds out the scroll. Recognizing it, Victor calls out in protest, "No! I don't have any more of those!" but it is in vain. With a magical trigger word, Tourmalineactivates the scroll, and a blast of lightning arcs down from her hand, striking the Vampire Spawn in the chest.
Lightning Bolt: 28
Acrid smoke wafts off of scorch marks on the monster.
Victor waves his hands in exasperation, before responding to Giles. He scowls at the question, his eyes darting to the door as if suddenly unsure of his sanctuary. He tightens his grip on his robes. "No one should know we’re up here right now," he replies. "The Baron and my mother don’t dare come near this place—they're too frightened of what they might find. Izek..."Victor’s lip curls in disgust at the mention of the brute’s name. "He has been up here, once, when he was drunk and thought it would be amusing to intrude. There was... an incident. I told him to stay out—threatened him, even—but who knows what that fool remembers or cares about."
He pauses, glancing back at the shattered window. "Still, I’ve warded this place. No one’s getting in that door unless I want them to. As long as you don't do anything to compromise that, we should be able to hold the window and have time to figure out our next move. But rest?" He huffs, motioning outside. "If those things are climbing the walls, I wouldn’t count on much peace."
As if on cue, the recently electrified Vampire Spawn below scrambles back toward the house. But rather than climb, it looks in the broken window. "Oh, won't you help me?" it cries out in a young man's voice to someone inside. "Please let me in! It is a massacre out here! Oh won't you let me inside?"
WIS: 8
None of you hear any response, but then the Vampire Spawn practically shrieks "Oh, thank you, my savior!!" before clambering in through the front window and disappearing into the ground floor of the Baron's house.
"Well... shite," mutters Victor.
[For now, we can exit combat. Burris alone outside with a small mountain of corpses. There are sounds of violence coming from inside the ground floor of the manor.]

Movement: None for Soren. Nettle uses Flyby and 60' movement to deliver help to give Burr advantage, then flies back to Soren's shoulder.
Bonus Action: None
Action: Soren moves his Moonbeam to cover both the 5' square occupied by the Vampire Spawn attacking Burr, and the square to the east of it. Creatures entering either space, or starting turn there (as the attacking Vampire Spawn should), DC14 CON save or take 11 radiant damage, 5 on success.

Burr Reaction- Bloodspear Attack: 23 Damage: 11
Burr lashed out at the fleeing Creature, then was suddenly set upon by another of the creatures, he felt the Spear shift in his grasp lending bloodlust to his rage and he spat in the things face as it tried to bite him...
As he struggled he tried to force the Bloodspear up and under its ribs....
Bloodspear Attack: 22 Damage: 8
BA- Rage.
Action : Sacred flame : DC 14 Dex save or take 4 points of radiant damage.
Bonus action : Telekinetic mage hand shove of the vampire spawn engaged with Burr, DC 14 strength save to resist.

Attack: 21, Damage: 8 + 5 sneak attack
[Silvery Barbs: New Attack Roll = 17. Time happens as before and the bite from last round still hits Burr.]
Soren moves his moonlight beam over the vampire, its flesh crackling and burning in the light. [CON save: 12]
Giles hits the Vampire Spawn with a little light of his own [DEX save: 9] but is unable to telekinetically shove the creature away from Burr [Athletics: 23].
Zelfa's arrow is true, though it doesn't seem to hurt the undead as much as the other's attacks.
Burr drives the Bloodspear up and into the guts of the Vampire Spawn. It hurts - he can see it in the creature's red eyes - and it seems a bit put off that its meal is putting up such resistance.
Tourmaline examines a scroll, tucking it away. "This is no help now. Keep looking."

Zefla grabs Victor and shoves him in front of the window, pointing at the strange woman, standing apart from the carnage.
Nobles don’t just appear in Vallaki; it's not like we get regular visitors." He rubs his temple, trying to shake off the pounding in his head from the earlier blast.
Burr is shaken by the impact, and he can hear the sound of ribs snapping inside the undead monster.
In the cold moonlight beam, the creature's massive wounds do not heal. It looks at Burr with its blood red eyes, then up to those attacking it from the window. Unwilling to release its prey, it drags Burr 15' west, out of the light, and then attempts to bite him again.

Burr grunted ignoring his wounds and shoved the Bloodspear into the feral corpse again, " Tasty?"

Soren's bares his teeth as his blood pounds in his ears in defiance and anger at the abomination that is savaging his friend Burr outside.
Almost... almost, he Misty Steps outside, but a glance at the other Vampire Spawn lurking by the door dissuades him from risking it.
Action: Move Moonbeam east over the Vampire Spawn. Creatures starting turn in or entering AoE: DC14 CON Save, 5 radiant damage or 2 on success.
Movement: none
Bonus Action: none

Giles moves to the window again, peeking through a corner of it and sees the creature trying to drag Burr away. He points his hand at it and another shaft of radiant light comes down on the creature, hoping to injure it. He also moves his invisible mage hand, positioning it above the head of the second vampire spawn near the building, planning to shove it down and prevent it from climbing if it tries to do so.
Movement, to the window, peeking through a corner of it.
Action : Sacred flame on the vampire spawn with Burr : DC 14 Dex save or take 3 points of radiant damage.
Bonus action : Mage Hand telekinetic shove to the vampire spawn near the house, if it tries to climb, DC 14 strength save to resist.
“Other than these vampire spawn now, no one else knows that we are up here, right? Izek? The Baron? Anyone else know about this spot? We have to have some time to rest and plan, if we can be free of these….things.”

Frustrated that her arrows aren't doing that much damage, but sending them out anyways as she isn't sure what else to do, Zefla stays put and uses her steady aim to gain advantage at least.

"We need to get Burr back up here if this is still a safe space! Rope?"

The party rains more spells and ranged attacks down on the Vampire Spawn. While no single attack, even Burr's magic spear, seems to more than scratch the creature, the volume of the attacks adds up. When Zefla's arrow takes in the back, the creature releases Burr and staggers back a step, before uttering an awful scream and dissipating into a cloud of black ash.
Giles' spectral hand shoves the last Vampire Spawn away from the side of the house. It looks up with a sneer.
Back at the table, Tourmaline holds up a scroll handed to her by Ireena. "Now... this is something. Stand aside," she calls as she moves to the window. Seeing only one Vampire Spawn close to the side of the house, she holds out the scroll. Recognizing it, Victor calls out in protest, "No! I don't have any more of those!" but it is in vain. With a magical trigger word, Tourmaline activates the scroll, and a blast of lightning arcs down from her hand, striking the Vampire Spawn in the chest.
Izek..." Victor’s lip curls in disgust at the mention of the brute’s name.
Burr is alone outside with a small mountain of corpses. There are sounds of violence coming from inside the ground floor of the manor.]

Giles looks around the window for something heavy, something he can tie off…. He reaches into his supplies and ties off a rope, throwing it out the window and using his invisible mage hand to bring the end of it to Burr. He makes a hand motion indicating he should climb up, and hurry!
