Riw decides that he has seen enough of the beast's fighting to find out how she coordinates her body and keep her balance during movement. The lamia's front legs receives enormous load as they have to hold the human part of the monster too. Riw turns himself into a dragonborn cannonball by holding his shield in front of him and try to sweep the front legs of the lamia aiming on the side of her knees. After the attempt he strikes another one on the lamia with his morningstar.

Leela leaps back a step after the lamia's aborted attack on her, making a visible effort to calm herself.
"Goddess Selune, grant me your serenity!"
Shaking a little, she gestures and hums the gentle lowing sound again, slightly breathily this time, casting Sleep again on the frozen lamia. [ 21 worth of hit points]
She looks to the others. "You may see me as too weak to kill another, and you may be right, but there is another problem we need to solve. Does the death of this creature necessarily mean Maitland will be free of the curse and instantly well again? We need to induce the lamia to lift the curse!" persuasion18
Leela the casts Sleep but since the lamia is unconscious the spell has no effect.

Seeing the creature go down and hearing Leela words Nyhus jogs over.
"I'm not a fan of violence but sometimes needs must," the captain says with a frown looking down at the beautiful yet terrible slain beast! "I...should we remove it," she then asks the battered party as more crew as well as Gaia come up from below-deck!
"Nirah...what happened, " Gaia asks looking at the beast with a grimace as she goes to Nirah's side.

"Me? This is my first crossing..." Gaia begins to protest before Nyhus steps in-between her first mate and her passenger.
"Sir, I suspect that either the lamia was here for Maitland or any number of the passengers seeing as we're all, I vouch for my entire crew, new to this route deck hands to wait staff," Captain Nyhus says firmly. "I suspect who ever is responsible will come forward in due course or not at all but if you plan to mount an investigation you proceed with patience seeking truth not to dispense justice. As they walk, she asks, "Does anyone else need healing? Riw maybe? If your wounds are not grievous, I will wait to see how much of my gift Maitland may need before I attend to your hurts."
Going below deck the party finds Arduus waiting outside Maitland's cabin.
"They are ill. Make your questions brief," the towering air genasi says curtly gesturing for the party to enter the room.
It's slightly cramped but much like before you all fit. This is the largest passenger cabin on the ship or at least the largest the party has been in. It has two twin beds and a table between them on one side and a sitting area on the other where they find Maitland seated in an overstuffed chair, that loosely resembles a squat throne. The adventurer gestures for the party to approach once you all enter.
"I have heard all of you and your valiant actions protected the ship from a beast! I knew I chose well," they begin sounding even weaker and more breathless than ever before. "I fear I may have left it too long on returning but as the creature came to claim me I think the curse will do so soon enough," they confess. "I trust... you will be able to fulfill my promise to Al-Said Barakah-Set and their family," they explain. "You seek an object is entombed in the desert. It along with a book of great power are your goals. The object is a holy relic and the book will aid Lord Barakah-Set and their people to take their place amongst the ruling mages," they explain in more detail. "The object is the severed hand of a divine being and the book is filled with enchantations to divine truth," the professor pauses to cough and then gasp for air behind their golden mask. "Return these items to the Barakah-Set family," they explain, "I...I cannot follow as I hoped," they finish their tone somber before coughing again.
As Maitland struggles for breath the elemental steps forward as the room around Maitland fills with a cool breeze which they inhale deeply.
"Thank you my friend," Maitland says to the monk before they continue. "I will need you to escort me safely to our rooms I have already secured. No one can know you seek these items or your connection to Barakah-Set. From Me'at Halwa you will continue to the village of Dendarah where Lord Barakah-Set's ancestor is buried. There you will find the tomb of Meneptah which is hidden by the desert," they explain. "I...I would recommend a guide to get you to Dendarah," they add. "You can gather supplies from Me'at Halwa. Anything you might need from the city with my coin. I will say sadly Lord Barakah-Set nor I can travel with you," Maitland repeats themselves. "The spies of the undead are everwhere. They are hidden amongst the elite of Me'at Halwa but especially outside the protection of the City of Mages," they remind the party. "Do you have questions? You must, " they add quickly moving in the arm chair and moaning slightly as if struggling to remain upright in great pain.
OOC: I stand corrected.
