Seeker finds a hatch that leads down to the decks below. It is currently closed. The ship is eerily quiet.
Thulewyn rummages through the debris and finds a small gold bracelet, a single gold hoop earring, two small tiger eye gems, and a bloodstone gem.
As everyone gathers at the cabin door, a hard shove breaks the door open, which was latched from the inside. The door crashes open to reveal two drowned sailors in a cabin that must have once been luxurious. A bookcase, half collapsed, holds waterlogged and disintegrating books and scrolls. The polished wood desk leans awkwardly on three legs; it has an ornate compass set in its center. The bed is covered in rotting bedding and sags in the middle. A jagged hole gapes in the floor beside the bed.
As soon as you open the door, the two drowned sailors rush toward the door, their dripping mouths open and snarling.
Battlemap! (Please note I will have to manually add everyone to this room when you join for the first time so please be patient. You may not be added right away but I will come back and check today as often as I can to let people into the new room. This should be the only time we have to do this, however.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the two zombie directly ahead of him, Medresh considers but immediately rejects the idea of his fire breath. Probably set the ship on file...what's left of it. Instead, he moves into a standard attack sequence learned at the monastery. Smashing his yklwa at the zombie in front of him, he follows up with a kick to it's right knee. Even the undead need to walk.
Medresh's yklwa attack doesn't quite connect with the zombie as it lunges out of the way, but the kick to the knee is a solid hit. The zombie groans. Then Tihli slams the door on its face, and you can hear the zombie pawing at the door from the other side. It is apparently not smart enough to open the door on its own.
Abaddon calls out, "These zombies are no more than blundering fools! We could simply open the door and ready our attacks against the first zombie that steps in reach. Then, we can cut him down to size."
Hearing the commotion and the sudden shut of the door, Thulewyn looks down at the group as he is climbing down the rope ladder. He yells down "Aye lads, what did ya find? I suppose something ripe and rotten. Ha, I suppose it thought the same of the lot of you!" Laughing as he makes his way down the rest of the way.
"May I suggest a firing squad gauntlet approch? Line up ranged and open the door and let loose when stumbles out, and ready arms if the steps too far out the door."
Abaddon calls out, "These zombies are no more than blundering fools! We could simply open the door and ready our attacks against the first zombie that steps in reach. Then, we can cut him down to size."
"Sounds good, I'll hold the door down with my mage hand until you all are ready."
When Thulewyn reaches the bottom of the rope ladder, he climbs up on top of a crate on the deck and prepares to release a chilling surprise for what comes out of the doorway.
(Ready action Frostbite for when a zombie comes out of the doorway).
"Aye lads, I be ready when you lot are. Let's not keep the dead waiting!"
While planning your strategy, the zombie has been repeatedly bashing itself against the door. Finally, the door bursts open in a shower of wooden splinters, and the zombie charges straight for the first person it sees, which is Orissa. It slams into the tiefling, trying to pummel her with its rotting fists (19 to hit, 3 damage).
Abaddon and Thulewyn may roll for their readied attacks.
The second zombie stumbles after the first, swiping clumsily at Morseth (22 to hit, 5 damage).
