Breathing hard, the creature is still in the throes of Quill's spell, which calms it somewhat now that no one is actively attacking. It creeps towards the boy, making strange mewling sounds, while trying to side step warily around Esvaris and Demoiselle. The boy reaches one hesitant, trembling hand towards the thing his father has become.
A woman's scream pierces the air. The beast's head whips toward the sound that came from the direction of the cabin. The baby begins to wail. At that, the creature springs away on it's powerful legs toward the crying and crashes through the bushes. His little boy yells, "That's Ma! Please, help her!" and attempts to push past Demoiselle.
Esvaris, using his incredible monk speed, actually rushes past the creature, who makes no effort to attack him. The elf bursts into the clearing and sees the woman, baby in her right arm, struggling to help Friar Bernard, who has one arm over her shoulder. They are staggering towards the scattered contents of his broken pack, a look of agonized determination on the goliath's face as he leans heavily on the smaller woman and drags his left foot, limping on the right. He leaves a trail of blood behind him. From the destroyed edge of the roof above the cabin's open doorway, it seems clear that the Friar fell attempting to get down off the roof. The youngest boy peaks out from inside the cabin watching his mother and the goliath. The creature and the others are coming fast behind Esvaris.
When the half snake beast crashes through the trees and sees Bernard clutching the woman, his jaws practically unhinge and his lips peal back revealing fangs that seem to visibly grow longer. It hisses in full-throated anger and leaps forward, claws extended toward the goliath. (He will pass by Esvaris, giving a chance for an optional opportunity attack. After that, the others arrive in the clearing just behind the monster.)
Every muscle stiff and locked in a crouched position, claws extended, the snake creature hisses at Bernard, but does not move. Bernard reaches his backpack and collapses to the ground. It's clear he is near the end of his endurance. Moving quickly, despite the obvious pain he is in, the goliath grabs a potion bottle from the scattered mess on the ground. Then he tosses it to Esvaris, who is closest to him. "Hurry!" he gasps, and then passes out next to the blonde woman, who is now kneeling next to him. (FYI: Command lasts for one round)
I cast healing word on my mentor. He regains 7 hp. I say to my fellows, "get them out of here! I'll hold it off! Actually, Korlan, I could use some help, probably."

My mind races. A plan, a plan.... what do we do? This thing used to be a man. If only we could make him a man again. We could reason with him, find out what he wants. I feel my hand gripping something. I look down Oh yeah! The potion Friar bernard gave me. Why did he give me this? Will it help what sort of potion is it? I read the label, "Lesser Restoration." hmmm... That's one of the spells I have been studying, though I cannot cast it yet; maybe soon. I didn't know you could put it into a potion. But then, I don't really know anything about potions. Anyway, why this? And what was the "hurry" all about? Then it hits me. I know what I have to do. "Korlan," I say, resignedly. "here's the plan: cover me if this doesn't work." I rush forward and attempt to force the potion down the beast's throat.
Esvaris: The beast was in the midst of hissing, so its mouth is wide open. You slosh the potion down it's open maw just in time. As you pull your hand back, the creature's jaws snap shut, shattering the mouth of the bottle. It slowly rears back, fighting off the effects of the Command spell cast on it. Then it twitches and jerks uncontrollably as it's eyes roll back into its head. An inhuman screaming hiss erupts from its throat.
Everyone sees the creature's entire body convulse, back arching, as the scales covering it's body seem to shrink and withdraw into it, leaving pink healthy skin behind. Dark blonde hair sprouts from his head and the hump on his back flattens out as he returns to his man's shape. A magical aura seems to light his skin from within, slowly fading as he drops to his knees and hands, completely naked. Then he falls prone, breathing, but unconscious from the strain of the ordeal. From behind all of you, his oldest son rushes forward, drops to his knees and hugs his father's head. "Da! Da!" he starts to cry and turns to Esvaris, "You saved my Da!" the look of hero worship shines from his eyes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Demoiselle breathed a sigh of relief. "Praise be" She murmured. With the father restored Demoiselle went forward to check the condition of both the mother and Friar Bernard.
I run behind the snake man with my rapier brandished in both hands. “Good luck!” I yell as I pass Esvaris. I say a quick blessing before standing my ground.
Matter the man turns, I will holster my rapier. “Well that was.... uh..... a miracle.....”
Demoiselle: Friar Bernard looks a bit better, is conscious, and attempting to gather some of the scattered items of his pack back into his torn bag. The healing that Esvaris cast on him had the effect of at least making his face look less damaged. The skin under his eye looks like it will carry a fresh scar. The mother is exhausted, but relieved that the ordeal is over. She keeps thanking all of you profusely. Her youngest son runs from the house to hug her, but he is still unwilling to go near his father just yet.

Demoiselle let out a "Oh, viens!" and dashed after the transformed father.
Sweet Goddess, she thought, I know I'm a sinner but did it have to be so many snakes?
Quill follows, still concentrating on his spell.
And that's all I have to say about that.
Esvaris
I also race after the creature. If I overtake the creature, I will attempt to protect the woman and baby.

Korlan
If the snake is attacking Friar Bernard, I will have no choice other than to attack the snake.

(Did Korlan run after the others?)
"Halt!" Quill yells, voice raised with magical energy. He then calls to the others.
"Stop him, but don't kill him!"
Command, targeting the snake...thing and using the "Halt" option.
And that's all I have to say about that.
