Mara nods at Killian as her eyes are trained on the weird shadow. Seeing that it seems imprinted on the torch in her hands she will attempt to see if the strange creature moves along with what she does with it.

Sim noticed the commotion with the group and saw the shadow following Rumble. 

"Hey, you there." The dwarf called out. "Can you help us out? Do you know anything about this place?" 

If he gets no response, Sim will bend down and pick up a handful of sand and throw it at the creature in order to determine if it is just another of his phantoms. 

The outburst from Killian doesn't help the migraine but Orianna stands with the great club on her shoulders. Staring at the shadow figure that Mara pointed out.

As Mara slows to a stop with the group, Darkwing calls his message as he returns, landing on the other side of the party from the shadow.

The shadowy form carries on stepping forward towards the group, its form becoming more solid darkness as it presses against the torchlight. It doesn't speak, but seems to be drawn towards the flame.

Dark seeing that there is now some food available, "Lets divide that food up and eat some.  I have not eaten anything in over a day."  To himself, <I sure wish that deer had come through to this world.  After I eat, everything will be better.>

Rumble kind of has to do the back and forth game with folks as the topic of a shadow following him keeps getting brought up. Sim in particular gets a squinty-eyed and slight head cant before the earth genasi finally lets out a snort. "Now yaw'll goin' ahead 'nd quit make'n fun of Mister Leo. He ain't done nothin' wrong to deserve it." He states firmly, then seems to think better of his words. "Wait... Yaw'll ain't talk 'bout --" He folds his arms across his chest. "I swear! I ain't never been scared of no ghost, 'nd I ain't fix'n to start now. So yaw'll best to quit it now."

Seeing the no doubt determined (if not probably annoyed or mixed) looks from folk however, Rumble grumbles and turns around saying, "Fine. Be that way. But there ain't no way Big Mama Chauntae will let some 'spook' sneak up on me and mister Leo."

((S/N: That last part might get cut off short if he sees the shadow)).

The shadowy figure continues walking towards Mara and her torch. Its walk is staggered, as if forcing itself against a strong wind. It has its left arm outstretched as if reaching for her.

Mara will set the torch down and back away a few steps, drawing forth the magic granted by her patron in case she needs tomget loose a spell. She hopes this is not going to end up as a fight but she is more then prepared to do so if it proves necessary. "If this is going to be a fight I hope everyone is ready for it then."

The shadow stretches for the torch. As its hand would touch the flame, there is a blast of energy from the flame, causing it to turn to a grey flame and knock everyone back.

Can everyone make a DC 12 Constitution Saving Throw. On a failure, you are knocked back 10 feet, knocked prone, and take 8 force damage. On a success, you take half damage, and are not knocked back.

Sim stumbled a moment but caught himself, though he still felt like he got the wind knocked out of him. 

((This is for after everyone has rolled their saves))

Too stunned by the specters appearance on the scene, Rumble can only watch in surprise and donning horror as the shadow grows ever closer... and closer... and passes him by to touch the flame. By the grace of either his goddess or the elemental energy subsuming much of his being, the earth genasi isn't immediately blown off his feet by the resulting blast. 

Thus shocked to full alertness however, Rumble whips out his makeshift club and rushes the creature with hostile intent. That is, assuming he can even make it out in the new grey fire's light. 

As they are walking back Leojym will look through the bag with Rumble. "This was quite the boon for us Mister Rumble, I agree that we may indeed not be alone. Unfortunately in a place like this fellow victims could be just as dangerous as our captors. Could I kindly see that sheet of paper, perhaps I could make something out from it." He will attempt to read it as they enter the torchlight near the group.

Investigation: 7

Hearing all of the talk about this 'shadow' while he was trying to decipher the paper, Leojym will look up just in time to see the shadow touch the flame from the torch. With a surprised look on his face, he says "Huh?"

As soon as this happens Mara will step up and point at the shadow, her hands glowing as a loud clanging of bells fill the room as she casts Toll The Dead on the shadowy figure.

After absorbing the blast, Dark takes to the air to circle around for an attack on the shadow creature.  (When I know my position in initiative.)

Shadow hears the commotion, a little slow on the uptake, he turns just in time to see the shadowy form touch the torch.

Shadow gets knocked back and is Prone He lies there for a moment trying to gather his senses.

Killian, seeing this shadow figure quickly turns and steps back away holding his arms up  across his face as to block whatever is going to happen from himself.

having held him self back from the blast and steadying his feet, Killian calls out to the shadow, "THE **** YOU DO THAT FOR!!!! I AM NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL"  Killian drops his torch on the ground and seemingly pulls the flame from it concentrated into a small bet dense bright ball in his right hand. holding his action to cast his cantrip Fire Bolt

Darnell's save: 7

Darnell is blasted backwards, and lands unconscious. He doesn't look good.

As people begin to come back to their senses after the temporary moment of shock from the blast, everyone (sans those unconscious) can see that the shadowy figure is trembling on all fours, its blurry edges appearing more defined.

Killian is first to react, as in a moment of rage he unleashes a fire bolt (this will happen before the initiative starts)
