RL will move up to Vakiel without getting in melee with enemies, give him a shake on the shoulder and say wakey wakey sleepy head's. Then step back to climb the 3ft of rope to join Grimbald.
Vakiel is now conscious but prone. He can take an action, and uses 15' of his movement to stand up from prone if he chooses to do so.
The blinded floating eye creature lets loose a few eye rays at where it thinks its foe is.
It heard Augustin speak so shoots an eye bolt at him. Augustin must make a DC14 Con Save with advantage or be paralyzed for 1 minute.
The second eye bolt fires at the skinny humanoid creature talking with Augustin. The humanoid tries to jump out of the way but it has none of its former agility. Dex Save 16.
The third eye bolt fires at where it thinks Vakiel is. Vakiel must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw with advantage or fall asleep and remain unconscious for 1 minute. Same as last time.
The ray bypasses the skinny humanoid, who steps smartly out of the way. He points at the floating eye creature. "Kill it, the beast is no friend of mine!" He mumbles a sacred flame and hurls it at the floating eye creature.
Taking advantage of the floating eye creature's blindness, Augustin steps past the skinny, long haired humanoid and smashes his Red Sceptre into the creature once, smashing one of its bigger eyes, and a second time into the body, the flanges of the sceptre splitting the creature open. It gibbers mindlessly, eyes and tentacles flailing about in a grotesque spin, bouncing off the wall and then settling on the ground, flopping for a moment before lying still. It fades away before your eyes, even the blood spatter goes with it.
"It's body returns to the Far Realm," says the humanoid. It turns to face you all. Even Grimbald who now recovers, wondering how he came to be on his back at the bottom of the rope.
"I am Beaumont Oakenheel," the skinny, pale humanoid says. "Half-elf acolyte of Lathander. This... curse.." he lifts his smoking right hand which you see is equipped with what looks more like claws than nails, "was inflicted on me by Carrion, tiefling necromancer. I've thought about being freed for a long time. Now it is here, I think - I hope - I don't know what to do. How can I live in the world with this demon claw? It will regain control the moment I sleep."
“Well-met Beaumont. Whilst you haven’t had much a chance to prove yourself, the fact you are using your words, rather then trying to impale me, aids your cause and for the moment, buys you an audience with us.” Confidence and bravado oozes from Augustin following the vanquishing of the most pressing issues. However, as is far too common for his travelling companions, this brave exterior quickly vanishes as his brain seems simply overwhelmed by several thoughts occurring at the same time and the following erupts from his mouth in quick succession:
”Why don’t you just take it off? That….seems the simplest solution if it’s causing you issues”
”What would happen if we cut it off?”
”Esa? ESA! How do I take the magic glove off?!”
” No seriously Beaumont, just take it off?”
”….were you throwing things inside my head!?”
”Oh! The walls are dangerous, watch out for the grey bits”
He continues on with a series of relevant (and not so relevant) statements and questions until interrupted by someone.
RL will stick his head out of the rope trick to listen in to the conversation, I could cast Dispel Magic on the hand/glove thingy to see if that helps?

Beaumont regards his smoking hand. He speaks slowly with a hoarse voice, as if he had not talked to anyone for a very long time and was remembering how conversation went.
"Take it off? It's not a glove! And I have tried to cut it off, but if I start to do it, the hand takes me over and it's a long time before I can regain control again. I think cutting it off is the way to go, I could cast a cure wounds on myself to staunch the bleeding. But even talking about it now I can feel the spirit that inhabits this... claw.. scrabbling at me for control to prevent that happening." He sighs. You see now Beaumont just looks like an old, tired, half-elf suffering from malnutrition and who has suffered from years of neglect and no social contact.
Beaumont turns to RL. "Dispel magic might work, I don't know. Remove curse might work if you have that?"
Esa flies closer and pipes up.
"I know a bit about curses, fey love them! Fey curses are a bit different, but I think a dispel magic would likely keep it quiet for a bit, but it would come back."
Vakiel picks himself up off the floor, shaking his head to clear the groginess.
RL will respond. Alas I do not know the spell remove curse.
RL will ritually cast Detect Magic while the conversation is going on to see if anything else can be discovered about Beamont or the surrounds. which will drop Faerie Fire.
Vakiel, only catching parts of what’s going on between being unconscious, will raise his sword suspiciously towards Beaumont readying to step in should the entity take control again.

Esa lines up the floating eye monster, but the big eye whips around to stare at her. She feels like she is trapped by its gaze.
Esa's Wisdom Save - 19
Esa mutters to herself in Sylvan, and then flys towards the floating eye monster.
"Oh you have lots of eyes do you?" she snarls. "Well, let them all look at THIS!" and casts color spray at the creature.
A dazzling array of flashing, coloured light springs from Esa's tiny hand, washing over the creature.
She can affect 37 worth of current hit points.
The eye creature is blinded, it floats about, trying to locate targets by sound. All attacks on the floating eye creature have advantage.
Esa gives a satisfied little nod, and flies back to be near Shepherd, looking a little bit smug.
Augustin first flurry of attacks miss and he shakes his head, trying to shake off the invisible demons hanging on.
"it's not supposed to be like this, I'm Missing something" he mutters to himself. In a flash he makes another series of quick attacks:
Attack: 20 Damage: 13
Attack: 12 Damage: 13
Augustin's first blow hits the creature, hurting it. Then it shakes its head and seems to be having some kind of internal struggle.
17.
The redness fades from the humanoid creature's eyes, and grey eyes look at you with alarm. It's threatening posture changes to one of fear.
"Wait!" he says, holding up its smoking hand. "It's not me fighting you, it's this cursed hand! Don't kill me!"
Augustin postures herorically.
"Prove your worth and help us."
Vakiel will take the action to grab his sword & stand up, but keep his eyes lowered for the moment

Con save with advantage =17
Augustin unleashes on the bag that is blinded.
First: 24 to hit - 13 damage
Second: 22 to hit - 8 damage
smiting on the second attack: 10

Augustin, the ever helpful offers the following.

Just to see (because I’m sure if I fail, someone will have woken me once it died…hopefully). Wisdom save: 21
