RL comes up with a new plan. He feints a grapple at Vakiel but will disengage and move south his 30 ft of movement while shouting and taunting Vakiel to try to get him to follow.
Bonus action healing spirit on the square Augustin is in. 6 points of healing for Augustin
RL can make Vakiel do any save he likes to get Vakiel to follow, but you have to explain why it's that save. eg if you make Vakiel do an Intelligence save, come up with a reason why he has to roll on intelligence. :) I'll pretty much accept anything. The DC will be 10 plus RL's own bonus on that same save.
Vakiel snarls and disengages from the ghost and follows the gnoll that appears to be badly hurt. It is retreating to where the other evil humanoids are gathering.
Vakiel is still under the sway of the Willowhaunt. He believes all of the other party members are evil creatures. RL is a gnoll. Grimbald is a fat goblin. Augustin is an armoured orc. Esa is an imp. And Danners is a hobgoblin.
Fael still sleeps peacefully, for another few rounds anyway, or until Esa breaks her concentration.
Esa flies up and casts witch bolt (at third level) at the Willowhaunt, knowing she is out of it's area of influence. This is how they are dealt with in the Feywilde. From range.
Purple lightning arcs from Esa's hands to the Willowhaunt. It groans, and tries to instruct Vakiel to strike her down, but Vakiel is now outside its range to give orders. Vakiel still sees the others as evil creatures, but can decide himself how to attack or what to do.

Augustin climbs up the broken wall so he does not get attacked by the befuddled Vakiel. On the wall he activates his circlet of blasting. Three fiery rays emanate from the gem in the circlet, blasting the Willowhaunt.
The blasts from the circlet, and the lightning from the witch bolt strip the bark away in gouts of fire and power. But underneath is not the lighter wood of the inner tree. Instead what is revealed is tens of thousands of bones of all types, large, small, animal, human, humanoid, fused in places, jointed in places. The Willowhaunt is more than a tree. It also pulses with the power of the undead.

DM's note - getting two criticals in a row and a pitiful damage roll is a bit poop. Going to add another 16 fire damage to that.
Chunks of bone are split from the tree and go flying in all directions. The undead menace, which has killed many a would-be delver over the years, is bloodied by the magical assault.
The teenage ghost seems unwilling to leave the courtyard and sinks into the ground mist.
Esa continues the purple lightning from her witch bolt until the Willowhaunt explodes in a shower of bone shards. Vakiel blinks as the monsters disappear and his friends reappear in their places.

Grimbald loads up the crossbow and targets the bone tree thing Attack: 14 Damage: 6, 2nd attack Attack: 23 Damage: 4 and bonus off-hand Attack: 17 Damage: 5
RL doesn't see anything, if there are bodies they are hidden by undergrowth and vegetation run wild. It's likely the bodies of the family are just bones now. If there were standard grave markers these would have shown up above the vegetation.

RL will fake an injury and pretend to be more injured from the willow haunt then he actually is as he flees towards the party.

RL will walk cautiously out into the courtyard to about 30 ft from the Willowhaunt to see if anything happens
