I add an unsolicited opinion, reading you write 'I'm going to have a terrible/wonderful time choosing': if you really notice so many interesting characters, don't be afraid to choose a few more and create a maybe slightly larger group than you had in mind at the beginning - because real life happens and the campaigns played in PBP are incredibly long - so it's very easy that at least some fellow players, unfortunately, over time, abandon the campaign. At least that's my experience so far...
Thanks for the update!
I'm certainly considering it, although what I will probably do is have a smaller group and a private shortlist of characters I can ask to step in if anyone has to drop out.
I don't know of any subrace options for half-elf, but the subclass for Armande is mastermind.
In the Half-Elf description it says this:
Half-Elf Variants
Some half-elves in Faerûn have a racial trait in place of the Skill Versatility trait. If your DM allows it, your half-elf character can forgo Skill Versatility and instead take the elf trait Keen Senses or a trait based on your elf parentage:
Practically this means that you could specifically be Half High Elf, or Half Drow etc, and when using the Character Creator you should be presented with those options.
Aha! I see it now. I'll stick to the standard half-elf, but I'll play around with this now that I know it's there. Thanks!

Oh, well... this might prove less effective than you'd hope, because after the selection closes all unselected characters might well be deleted or used in other campaigns - so when the need arises they might no longer be available - but on the other hand I understand that in this way you will have the convenience of managing the group of the size you want - and as DM, of course the final decision regarding all things concerning the campaign is yours. Whatever you decide is fine by me.
This of course also means that we will have you to blame, if you don't keep us entertained! 😉
When one thinks of Lizardfolk they think big dumb brutes. This comes from a culture where thinking is seen as bad. Living in hovels and swamps with little but leaves and sticks for shelter. If you were lucky, perhaps your tribe had huts to live in. One can often question how the lizardfolk tribe survives with a mentality of knowledge is bad. Kikoloa, an ancient god from times before was paralyzed with indecision and split themselves in two from such action. They became the lizardfolk by shattering themselves forcing their mate sessuana to look after them in their stead. This story is what all young lizardfolk are taught. Most tribes of lizardfolk continue to pass down in oral tradition the sin of thinking. However, there is sometimes those who see the spendor in knowledge. Rare and seen as terrible things they are often shunned by the rest of the lizardfolk. These tribesfolk often leave and over time... they found others like them. A small communion where thinking, planning and knowledge was okay and seen as good. Jaxl was born here. A tribe of outcasts.
Jaxl had a mind for combat which was common for the folks here and their parents were quite proud of his strength. As the first born to them he excelled in many aspects and some said he was born for greatness, maybe even as a chief of a clan someday. He had an uncanny ability for hand to hand combat and seemed wiser by far then most of the other younger lizardfolk born to this clan of outcasts. He found a place as a leader among the younger ones. Learning became a regular thing at this place. He excelled at it. Loved it even, especially when it came to learning about ways to fight. A bit stubborn he would often get his mind set on things and work until he got what he wanted. He made many friends and was favored by many of the outcasts.
His youth was a good one but not all good things last. Other lizardfolk tribes eventually learned of this community of outcasts. They saw it as blasphemous that intelligence was thriving here. That lizardfolk were reading! Even young ones! They attacked. Vastly outnumbered it was a massacre. However, a few escaped. Scattered in all directions. One such person was Jaxl. Forced to flee he was able to trick his pursuers and evade capture. He used his cunning and survival skill it wasn't hard for Jaxl to make his way towards human populations. Were he was counting on the locals to catch a larger group chasing him. His plan worked but now what? He looks to what he carries with him after he is certain he is safe. An egg. He managed to grab it from his family hut as his parents went to distract the attackers. He took it and ran. With egg in toe. Now in a strange environment he needs to find shelter and a place for warmth.
He has never been this close to human settlements before. Knowing that as a lizardfolk he may be killed on sight but what choice does he have? He doesn't know how to raise a kid. He needs help or his sibling will die. He steals a few things he needs on his journey. A pack he lines with fur to cushion the egg and protect it. Rations for a trip. A bit of gold for expenses. Will he find other survivors here? Did his parents live? What about his friends? He knows none of these things but he does know he needs to win over the people here. He hears some rumors about goblins giving people a hard time. The High Steward of Nightstone, Lady Velrosa Nandar put out a call for help with them. If Jaxl can show these people he can help perhaps they won't kill him but give him a chance. With plan in place Jaxl sets his mind forward. To Nightstone. Keeping the egg a secret as best he can for now. If he can show these people he can help and is not a threat perhaps there might be someone willing to help him.
I just wanted to add that for Raeland, it is very possible he had dealings with the Zhentarim or their agents, though I haven't stated that explicitly. That is the faction he is most closely aligned to from the options presented.
I am also happy to tie in backstory elements with other party members, though I'll save that until EMIW picks a group (and if I am in it of course).
Good luck to everyone, especially EMIW. Picking a party is a difficult yet rewarding part of the job.
Applications are now closed! Thank you everyone for your time and imagination in applying. It's possible I'll be able to choose a party today, but I may not be able to contact anyone until Monday.
Thank you for your patience everyone. I have now contacted the players to confirm their continued interest.
It was so hard narrowing the list down, everyone should be proud to be so imaginative with your character creation. Best of luck to everyone in your future games!
Thanks for the update!

Jenira is a standard half-elf.
Thank you for confirming!!
Quick update: Xondario (Character name) and I (Adelle) have created a backstory that ties us together as friends and puts us both in Nightstone.
I don't have a signature.

Good luck!!
Best of luck!
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Provide feedback!

Indeed, fellow players! Good luck to all and may we soon enjoy creating a wonderful story together 😀
Screw you all until I get in... Then I wish you all luck!
((Actually I would prefer if I was the one picking the players... But still. Whoever gets in, I hope it's a great campaign.))
Appreciate y’all and hope to hear back!
Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiAWell, you could pick the players here for a campaign you'll DM. Lots of good picks here; it can save you some steps!
Giants are they all bad?
DON'T CHOSE ME! I have to withdraw again! This is the case with all pbp I'm in due to IRL Shit. I hope everyone has fun!
