"Well," Solitude gives a weary smile "at least they will meet justice... unless they also pretend to 'become other persons'..."
But after a few moments, with her thirts for revenge partly satiated with the expectation of future hangings, the tiefling ex-prisoner realizes the meaning of the rest of the speech and she seems... confused.
"I..." embarassment seems to take the place of the usual caustic sarcasm "I think you overestimate me. I think I'm usually victim of injustice. I think I got sufferings I did not deserve. But I do not feel myself a beatiful soul; maybe an innocent one thirsty for justice..." she returns the hand squeeze and does not lower her golden eyes"But bright... well, I don't see all this brightness in me. Nor am I looking for it... I'd be perfectly content on leaving a life in wich nobody tries to cause me harm".
"Anyway," she leaves, caressing the girls' hairs as if they were the first hairs she ever took care to take interest in "thank you. But you are a thousand time brighter than me. I... I'll do my best to avoid you'll get harm because of this".
Rash glances over his shoulder to see Solitude chatting with Adiwyn. Part of him wants to eavesdrop, but he quickly decides that it would be for the best if he lets them speak in privacy.
Still... Solitude's presence does make him think.
"The hardest ones to win over are going to be Solitude and Gaer," Rash tells Anita solemnly, placing a hand on her shoulder as he gently ushers her along towards the dining hall to talk with the others. "And I would be lying if I said that I don't understand how they feel. I think that, once everything is done here, we're going to need to find a way for you to make at least partial amends to them... especially Solitude since she's suffered so much in her captivity and will continue to suffer for some time in her recovery."

"I... I am not I am just a normal farmer girl pretending to be a warrior... " she lowers his face as soon as she realizes what she just said. How it was possible that she just said in loud voice what she was thinking since she defeted those goblins back at her village? "Anyway..."she tries to ignore her own words "I was trying to help this Lady Martha with the grief of losing his beloved, and I am not still sure that is going to happen for her but... I am glad that this had taken us here and we could help you and the others... only for that this whole thing made sense... "she looks up to Solitude's again cuckling "I do not know if I am making any sense right now... but... hey... I am really sorry that you had suffered... you didn't deserved that, not in the slightest, and I do hope that you find the peace you look for. Let's go back with the rest, ok? here let me help you... " she offers her shoulder for the tiefling to lean on her "How's the crane? I... I hope that the height is right... "
Anita lowers her eyes: "Yes, of course you're right. I'll do whatever you ask to me to help her. I admit I've been mean to the prisoners. We were bored and the best entertainment were either the prisoners or Mangy... My life had ever been f*ck or get f*cked... and at that time, I was in the position to f*ck. I did not even think about what I was doing... I... I don't know how to amend, but you ust tell and I'll do".
In the meantime, Solitude, accepting Aidwyn's help: "Yes, it is quite good thank you... I knew it came from you! It will do nicely. And as for your fighting prowess... well I did not see you in action, but you were part of the group that defeated a Zhentarim gang - of course you're a warrior. And when you think you're not..." she winks - a weird effect, with that scleraless eyes "...compare yourself to Milo. Nobody can be less warrior than him".
"The first thing to do will probably be to aid her however we can while she's on bed rest," Rash explains. "Our healers have found that we're going to need to break her leg a second time to re-set the bone..."
He shudders at the thought of what they're going to have to do... and he really doesn't have a way to make the process easier. Perhaps he could put Solitude to sleep so at least her body would be limp when the grizzly task of breaking her leg is done, but she would wake up as soon as the limb is struck.
Well, that's a consideration for another time. It's time to set about gathering his companions to try to convince them to let Anita come along on their expedition.
Looking Solitude in the eye, Quspira nods. "One thing you definitely have going for you is your honesty. You've never pretended with us to feel or think anything other than you did. I'll be honest, I'm nowhere near as perfect as my preaching ,,, in fact, half the time I'm preaching as much to myself as anyone else. There were times when we were attacking the Zhentarim here when I wasn't sure who I was anymore. It's so easy to bleed over from thirst for justice to ... welll, that could be the beginning of so many words as Gaer would sometimes say to me. But I admit, there were times I enjoyed making them crap themselves ... the nastier of the first two guards we ran into for instance."

So, after several chats, you all meet in the dining hall, where Rash enters... accompanied by Anita.
Solitude, who next moment has already aimed a loaded Light Crossbow at the she-Zhentarim, seems to have a great desire to pull the trigger... But she notices out of the corner of her eye that Aidwyn is next to her... and Spira on the other side...
"...Not let them rip that from me..." the tiefling ex-prisoner mutters "...Stronger than that..." as a drop of sweat beads her forehead, she relaxes, keeps the weapon pointed toward the target, but at least she doesn't seem about to shoot anymore "...Better ...than you!"
While Anita, pale, begins to breathe again, Solitude, composing herself, slowly moves her scleraless golden eyes to Rash: "Let me guess: you're going to tell us something..."
Rash sighs as he looks at Solitude's crossbow. He takes a step in front of Anita.
"Actually... yes, I do," Rash says. "I want to give Anita the opportunity to join us for the final part of our quest... But I also wanted to consult all of you first before making that executive decision. I firmly believe that she has changed her allegiance and that we don't have to worry about being betrayed. Whether or not you think that the change in allegiance stems from a true change in heart is entirely up to you... but I want to give her a chance to prove herself. He pauses for a moment.
"I know that she hurt you... and I won't pretend that she doesn't deserve some punishment for her part in your torment... but she also deserves a second chance to become a better person and to atone for what she did."

Solitude gives a disgusted look, as she comments: "I would have expected, from a wizard, to be the caster of any charm spells, not the target..."
However, she decides to put down her weapon and, now looking at Aidwyn, now Spira adds: "Obviously, I don't trust her. But I'm committed to helping you and I will do it... even should you take decisions that I deem naive and dangerous".
"Yes... I understand how you feel," Rash says. (OOC - I apologize as everyone seems to understand, but I am not following what "crane" is - that Aidwyn made for Solitude. Generally in English "crane" means either a type of bird or a type of heavy industrial equipment for lifting/suspending heavy objects. Neither of those seem to fit.)
Having had the final watch, Roxana was awake long before others had started their activities. She chatted just a tiny bit with Gaer who was keeping watch with her. Closer to the end of the night - and the end of the watch - she tells Gaer she's going to check outside, see what she can find. To exit she heads out the marble arch, keeping a cautious eye out for anything going on. (Perception, if needed: 15)
Outside she does some foraging, primarily looking for plants that might be used to make a small meal. If luck grants her a chance crossing with a rabbit or something she might use her bow for a tiny bit of hunting. (Survival check with Advantage from Cooking Tool proficiency: 23)
Once back inside, and presuming she's found enough ingredients, she would make a simple soup. (Cooking Roll: 11 + 2 tool proficiency + ability bonus, I would think WIS which is +2 but not sure.)
(OOC - I was relying on Xanathar's rules for using tool proficiency, since there's basically nothing at all for tools in the rules. It allows for a meal to provide a +1 to hit dice rolled to regain hp during a short rest. Kind of moot here. But I'm not sure whether you would allow these rules or just wing it on tool proficiency.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Obadiah's sleep is a restless one, barely giving the white-haired warrior his strength back. His watch together with Rash is quiet, much as he preferred it. He gets up early, quietly joining the redhead from Longsaddle to find something for a hearty breakfast.
Survival: 4
As he gets back he can't help but notice Rash and Aidwyn bonding with a zhent and a vengeful tiefling respectively. He shakes his head in silence. He didn't mind new relationships, even on a mission to save a life, but to him it was madness to bring along those who would kill each other as soon as they got half-a-chance. He does his best to assist Roxana with breakfast, which most likely is by preparing any animal they caught and otherwise staying out of her way as she makes her soup.
(OOC: Lol! A crane to lift Solitude would not be bad... But yes, I also was reading it 'cane'; probably a typo)
As Roxana and Obadiah head outside to hunt, one thing they note although the sun has yet to rise is that Wumgu is no longer around... Has he gone off to hunt too?
However, in addition to finding various herbs useful for cooking, the two hunters find the track of a fawn and, following it, manage to surprise and kill the animal. This means fresh meat for everyone, for today... and meat for many more days, managing to keep it.
(OOC: Since the core rules don't cover this topic while Xanathar does, then it's okay, let's trust the beholder. It's okay WIS bonus)
So Rash's speech probably takes place while everyone (including him, perhaps) is eating tasty portions of fawn meat...
Solitude has already expressed her lack of confidence in Anita, but the half-orc is also awaiting the response of the others... What do you want to do? Should you take Anita with you or not?
Roxana glances at Rash before she begins speaking but focuses her attention on Anita. "I'm willing to have you join us Anita. However, I think we should give consideration to how both Solitude and Gaer might think of the situation." Her focus then turns to Solitude, "It seems you've made your position clear." She then moves to Gaer. "But I'm not sure I've heard your thoughts."
As she speaks to Anita and the others, she tries to gauge how sincere the tiefling is in her apparent change of heart. (Insight: 15_
You think Solitude cares of you - since you gave her an affection almost unknown to her until now. She still seems to be revenge-thirsty though... the urges to seek revenge and not to disappoint you are clashing inside her
Gaer looks at Anita... then at Spira... and this goes on for some time until he finally he decides: "To amend, to change life... it is not an easy task. But I've been given this opportunity in the past... I'll not deny the girl her chance. Hey" he tries play down "she did not even steal my favorite mirror, after all..."
(OOC. lol yeah a cane as in a crutch... sorry for the typo and the confusion... didn't notice it)
Aidwyn says nothing during the first moments of the tense situation, she just stands besides Solitude.
Once her and Gael has spoken, she says.
"You deserve a second chance. You do not deserve our trust. " she says to Anita "be sure of one thing, at the slightest hint of betrayal, or a bad look, I will not hesitate in finish what I started in our previous fight. You could be his assistant and you should be forevere grateful to him for that "she says pointing to Rash " but remember that it was me who hold her hand and not killed you. You have a long walk to become more than a ruffian and a bullie. We'll see if you have what is necessary to walk it."
She then turned to Rash
"You should had give us a heads up before entering here with her, but after seeing the attitude of the other prisioners I do think it is no safe for her to remain there. She can come with us, let's see if her actions help her in her judgment once we get back to the village."
As Aidwyn finishes, Obadiah simply shakes his head again. "Since you ask I can see only trouble and grief with bringing along the zhent. Even if she does not betray us down there she is still just another liability, one that will distract you from our purpose of being here." He says, his dark eyes staring at Rash. "I suggest you lock her up here and do what you want with her once we have what we came here for."
