(OOC: The attack is a miss, becvause Clas uses his reaction to interpose the shield, imposign Disadvantage on the attack)
The guardian surprises Ilwythe and the helmet resounds with a loud clang impacting... against 'Barrel'! In fact, Clas was ready to defend the barbarian and, with a quick jerk, he interposed the shield and thwarted the blow.
Meanwhile, outside the room, Missing Scales pounces on Ardana and tries to land a jab at her with its gauntlet.
The swift strike hits Ardana in the face; our heroine manages to cushion her blow (and prevent the hard metal from breaking her teeth) by tilting her head, but she will probably be left with a bruise.
Witnessing the scene and seeing that 'Earth Lady' has resumed hostilities, Barakor lets out a beastly growl and runs to Ardana's side, trying to bite and land Missing Scales just as the armor seems focused on the paladin.
This time the wolf tenaciously bites a greave and pulls so hard that it comes off! Missing Scales now tries to turn her helmet now towards the paladin, now towards the wolf, so as not to be caught unprepared again.
At that point, the last self-moving armor also enters the scene, until now perceived only for its clang. Quite glossy (is this a vain armor perhaps?), she takes a position behind the other two who are already pressing on Ardana, eager to contribute.
Clas's hazel eyes narrow as he surveys the intense situation unfolding around him. With determination etched on his face, he tightens his grip on his trusty longsword, Ale. With a swift and practiced motion, he swings Ale towards the enemy, aiming to strike a decisive blow. "Hold fast, friends!" he calls out. "Just like Barrel and Ale, we're solid and unyielding. We'll weather this road and reach a tavern yet! Hahahaha!"
Ale attack 20 Damage 8
(OOC: I believe you meant Clas rather than Ilwythe. Clas had protection fighting style going for Ilwythe and the attack roll would have been most likely directed at Clas instead. I'm not going to argue with you if you say otherwise though. Hahahaha. But I will go ahead and deduct the 6 hit points from Clas, just in case.)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
(OOC: You did well to remind me of the Protection fighting style you were using - but the guardian attacks Ilwythe anyway, because it's the first time you've used it so I would say that it couldn't know you were doing it and realize it - from the next times the guardian will know. However, by interposing the shield, you gave it Disadvantage to the attack, now I take this into account - I make a second attack on Ilwythe and consider the lower of the two. I'll edit my previous post to reflect this)
While the guardian finishes realizing what prevented him from hitting its original target, 'Ale' is already darting at the armored chest! The sword impacts violently, tearing several scales and making the armor almost useless... The guardian seems to stagger, even if he persists in standing... He must be on its last leg by now!
Ardana does not lose faith in the cause of good and justice, even though the enemies continue to arrive... and it is thus that, when Dented Helmet moves his armored arms away a little too far from his body, the paladin, perfectly concentrated, is ready to take advantage of it, while also unleashing a ferocious burst of holy power at the same time!
A powerful slash hits the part of the armor corresponding to the neck, detaching the scales placed there and sending the empty helmet flying around the large room.
The self-moving armor collapses to the ground in a pile of scrap - and doesn't move anymore.
Meanwhile Ilwythe, in the guardian's room, nods thanks to Clas for the intervention just before, then, almost without looking, launches a rapier thrust into the chest of the animated armor, trying to surprise it!
The armor is both taken by surprise, but also difficult to break... The rapier's point is deflected to the side by the overlapping scales without much effect.
Tarysaa grabs an item from her pouch and raises it to her eye while muttering a phrase while her other hand weaves about and centers on the armour advancing their way (( Quite Glossy )). A small orb of scintillating energy leaves Tarysaa's fingers and speeds toward QG. < CHROMATIC ORB > Attack: 17 Damage: 10 pts of ACID damage
Seeing the orb splash against the armour; metal showing signs of bubbling and smoke arising from the acid/metal interaction, Tarysaa steps 10 ft to the south to clear the path for Nim and anyone else coming down the stairs.
"Watch yourself, Barakor!" Daisy steps up closer to fray. With her run-up, the dwarf uses the momentum and rifles a stone at the armor faced off with the wolf.
(Move: Step one space west of Ad. Action: Throw rock at Ms, 21 to hit, 6 damage)
A small orb of scintillating energy leaves Tarysaa's fingers and speeds toward Quite Glossy, but it's partially deflected by her scales, so it makes some of her scales sizzle ominously, giving off an acrid smell ... but in practice it doesn't seriously affect their integrity .
Daisy's throw has better luck: the enchanted stone hits Missing Scales right in a vulnerable point, where some scales had already been removed, and the force of the impact detaches others!
Meanwhile, in the guardian's room, it turns its fury on Clas, which made him miss the previous blow: a sudden roundhouse kick carried with the armored foot snaps towards the knee of the warrior.
