So, is this your plan? Ardana opens the door, lets the Flaming Sphere chase her to the point where she can go in circles (near where you fought the animated armors)... Meanwhile the others hide nearby and as soon as the Flaming Sphere has passed they check the room?
If yes, just decide where to hide... And whether you leave Tarysaa flagless (she is Ardana's partner, usually). or you temporarily give her another partner.
Ardana, here's an idea. Take my yellow flag, Clas suggests, his words flowing like a quick current. And Tarysaa, would you mind giving me a hand?
His eyes gleam as he continues, Let's double back to the gong room. We'll hide ourselves from that fiery showstopper. Then, Ardana, when you're ready, lead our fiery friend away. Head toward where those three suits of armor were stationed in the circle. Once it's trailing behind you and out of the passageway, give a shout, and we'll dash for the unguarded room.
Clas's gaze holds a mixture of confidence and concern. Ardana, do you think you'd like some of us to stick around in the gong room just in case things get a little too fiery on your end? We'll only need someone good at finding hidden things in that room and maybe interpret what's found. I'm all in for this plan, but we've got your back if things go sideways. They normally do, like a barrel rolling down a hill. Hahahaha!

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
Well, so our resourceful heroes are ready for the next challenge: lure the Flaming Sphere on a red herring and explore the seemingly empty and bare room that contains it.
All but Ardana hide in the gong room.
Ardana, with a Yellof Flag all to herself, goes to open the door... and, as soon as the Flaming Sphere, as expected, chases her, she begins to flee in the direction of the path that passes the gong room and allows you to travel in circle.
The Flaming Sphere moves decisively, but is not as fast as Ardana, so it's not difficult for her to play her part and keep distance.
When the paladin notices that the flaming pursuer has passed the gong chamber, she yells: "Now!"
And so the other team members, while the brave Nim remains in the gong room in case Ardana runs into unforeseen troubles, sharing the remaining Yellow Flags, reach the so coveted room!
Everyone who searches the room, please, roll for perception!
Both Clas and Daisy scan the room with their senses on alert... They scrutinize carefully... Every now and then they stop and, in the silence of the empty space, they try to pick up the red telltale sound of... something... In some places they even moisten a finger with saliva, so as to make it more sensitive to detect any drafts that could suggest a passage...
They finish at about the same time, simultaneously looking into each other's eyes and saying, in a short and involuntary chorus, perplexed: "It's just a stupid empty room!"
Hahahaha! Now we have to go get that thing off of Ardana! Hahahaha! Clas swings Barrel over his back and pulls out a hand axe, still holding Tarysaa's hand. Get ready to throw everything you have against it! Hahahaha! He looks at Tarysaa with a smile! Ready!? As soon as she nods, Clas dashes off back towards Ardana, Tarysaa in tow. Hopefully we catch it between us and Ardana! Hahahaha!

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
Tarysaa is not so much following as being PULLED out of the room and down the hallway toward the 'rabbit run' Ardana and the Flaming Sphere are circling. Maybe she was making this overcomplicated? Perhaps some cold vs heat is all it takes?
(( If Tarysaa gets a clear, clean aim on the flaming sphere, she will try to cast Ray of Frost ))
[ The following are contingent on whether or not Tarysaa GETS a clear shot and can cast said spell... ]
Initiative >> 18 +4 = 22
Ray of Frost >> To Hit: Nat 1 + 6 = 7 *facepalm*
Every thing that could go wrong went wrong in that instant. Attempting to stay calm and getting the somatic element correct with one hand firmly being griped at pulled along. Sliding to a halt as the trigger word sent a beam of frigid, icy blue 'stuff' forward in the general direction of the target. Watching it come no where close. Standing like a deer in a grassy field... stock still and not knowing where to leap off to.
The pointy-eared deer in a grassy field, stock still and not knowing where to leap off to, sees the Flaming Sphere change direction and start rolling towards it!
It's a dramatic situation... The elf wizard understands that if she tries another spell, maybe she might then not be fast enough to move away without being hit by the flames... while if she now moves away at full speed she can re-establish distance, but that would mean postponing the casting of any further spells.
What will Tarysaa decide to do?
(OOC: The others also can try to do something, of course)
Fright builds. Panic mode. The spike of adrenaline as Death approaches. Practically screaming the verbal "GLACIES" while making the gesture quick and sharp, Tarysaa sends a beam of icy, blue white energy at the Flaming Sphere...
Ray of Frost >> Ranged Attack: 22 Damage: 5 AND, its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of my next turn.
The beam shoots forward as she raises her arms across her face and screams out, "CLAS" , as she closes her eyes in anticipation of the coming pain.
With a burst of energy, Clas dashes down the corridor, his heart racing with the thrill of the chase. In his left hand, he tightly grips a hand axe, its weight a comforting presence. As he rounds the corner, his hazel eyes widen at the sight of the colossal ball of fire hurtling toward him. Instinct takes over as he shifts his footing, his solid form ready to meet the oncoming challenge.
A surge of adrenaline courses through him as the fiery menace changes direction. "GLACIES" he hears nearly screamed into his ear. His quick reflexes kick in and he feels an icy breeze skim past his right ear, followed by a sudden jerk of his right hand being pulled awkwardly. "CLAS" Tarysaa's voice rings out, filled with concern.
Reacting, Clas pivots his body to the right, countering the force that threatens to dislocate his arm. With a swift motion, he hoists his left hand and throws the hand axe it holds directly at the fireball, his aim true as the weapon sails through the air. The momentum carries him into a spin, and in a seamless motion, he whirls around Tarysaa, using her as a pivot point. The motion spins her as well.
With the rotation complete, Clas's other hand axe is drawn, gripped firmly as he faces the fireball head-on. "Hold on, Tarysaa! We're not dancing yet! Hahahaha!" With his sights locked on the fiery threat, he readies his second hand axe, prepared to throw it.

Never underestimate the power of a finely crafted barrel, my friend! It is both a vessel of strength and a symbol of resilience.
This time the ray, which seems to condense in itself the chill that this month of Hammer carries in the heart, hits the burning globe right in the middle.
But the flaming sphere doesn't seem to be affected at all or even slowed down! It is as if in fact it were not a living creature, but only an effect of a spell.
Clas arrives and, in a very theatrical and acrobatic way, stands between the elf wizard and the flames, trying to stop the fiery menace with the launch of one of his handaxes... but the ball of flame has now gained speed and the weapon misses the target .
The next moment, the fire invests Clas, who tries to shelter himself as best he can...
(OOC: A natural 1 is just the lowest value you can roll, but has no special effects, in most cases. Had the DC been 1, your 2 with nat 1 would have been a successful save. Only exceptions are the rolls to hit - where a 1 always misses and the death saves, where a 1 counts as 2 failures. In all other rolls, a 1 has no special handling)
Clas was optimistically expecting to split the fiery ball in half with his handaxe... so he practically doesn't move as the flaming sphere is missed and impacts on him!
The sphere's consistance is somewhat spongy, so Clas is not thrown to the ground and the ball stops - but the fire is hot!
(OOC: failed save, so 6 fire damage)
What to do now? Staying near the fire will only lead to more burns! And this thing seems more like a spell effect than a creature... so fighting it might prove useless. At least it is slower than you... Will you run away? But where?
Clas attacks with the axe in his hand. Melee attack 19 Damage 6. He let's go of Tarysaa's hand. Run! Hahahaha!
Well... you were (temporarily) flag-partners and are about to split (at least if Tarysaa obey and runs)... So, just a question: who will keep the flag? Tarysaa, leaving Clas flagless? Or the other way around? You can expect that who remains flagless will be at least in the heavy fog that obscures all kind of vision...
(@All the others: Of course you also can do something, once you see Clas first burned by the sphere, then trying to fight it)
Ardana raises her hand at that one.
(OOC: not much time to post this week will go back and make some retroactive RP responses.)
