Kalhala looks back at the group and scratches his head as he looks at the prisoners. "I see what you're saying Zubien, but I feel we have some orcs down that way, I smell something cookin!" He licks his lips in anticipation. "I guess I just don't want them to sneak up on us while we're escorting...?"
Grymar - You hear nothing coming from the northern passages.
All - Reena, Jerrid, and Thelmund take the proffered weapons and rummage through the crates and sacks in the larger room for anything that might benefit them on their journey. Jerrid finds a few bolts of cloth that they use to make cloaks, a few battered pots with bronze patinas, and a sack of barley as well. Thelmund turns back to you all and says, "We can hold tight here and see about finding some more supplies fer the road if you all wanna see about clearin' the way outta here."
Kalhala scratches his head and looks back and forth from his friends, to the prisoners to the paths to decide from and frowns. "Umm.. I'm not sure where to go. Just point the way and I'll happily take you that way!"
Grymar goes down to the southeast passage, letting the bees come out and dance around on his forearm. “Which way fellerz? Any idearz?” The move and dance, limbo and cavort around on his forearm. He imagines them pointing to the southeast, but scratches his head, not really sure. “This way?”

He licks his lips in anticipation. "I guess I just don't want them to sneak up on us while we're escorting...?"
"If there is a chance for Orcs to be there, then we should remove that threat," Zubien agrees
"Well that's reason enough for me!" Kalhala exclaims and just as he is about to head down the tunnel that smells of cooking, he turns back to the prisoners, "You all going to be ok here? Can always hole up back in that cage and just stay quiet if hear anything a comin." and with that he nods and starts heading down the tunnel, drawing his sword so it is at the ready.
Lehmani - Nothing stands out to you that would indicate which way leads to where the non-combatants might be staying.
Kalhala - A large, smoky fire crackles in the center of this room. Battered pots and kettles are stacked all over; clearly, this space serves as a crude kitchen. You feel a distinct draft drawing the smoke up through a rough hole in the ceiling.
Zubien will move with the group towards the kitchen, doubting that whatever may be cooking, may not be fit for human consumption, thinking of the freed prisoners needing a hot meal.
Zubien - You find a large kettle suspended over the fire, its contents simmering. It appears to be a stew. Judging from the various bits of ingredients left lying about, you believe it's venison, carrot, and potato.

Carefully, Zubien secures the pot, and brings it to the freed prisoners. "I think they could use a warm meal before we trek out of here," as it takes it over to the group.
Kalhala is about to stop Zubien and help himself, but he holds back just as Zubien walks by him with the secured pot. He groans a bit but doesn't say anything.
"Well, this area looks secure and since we think the way out is to the North, shall we check out the NE tunnel next?"
"Indeed,"says Lehmani, brandishing her mace and preparing to move. "We'll have to thread the needle here... If the remaining orcs are cornered and protecting their young, they'll be prepared to fight to the death. I'm all for defending ourselves, but I see no need for wonton bloodshed of innocents if it can be avoided. What say you all?

Zubien - The pot is rather large, but with Kalhala's help the two of you are able to crab walk it back to the makeshift cage area. Thelmund and Jerrid serve themselves a bowl and begin eating it with gusto. Reena abstains, eyeing the stew with suspicion. The large, heavy pot is still about two-thirds full even after the two eat their fill. Thelmund burps contentedly though Jerrid groans and complains of a stomach ache. Reena says, "What'd you expect? They've been starving us for tendays and you just gorged yourself the first chance you got. Your body can't handle so much so fast." Thelmund appears unaffected and resumes rummaging through the wares while Jerrid appears uncomfortable but otherwise okay.
All - Haphazard stacks of crates, barrels, sacks, and bundles crowd this long cavern. To the north, two finished stone passageways open to the east and west; a narrower opening leads south. In the southeast corner is an old well full of murky water.
thinks that the three can leave safely on their own and is ready to explore deeper into the cavern. Reena has already said they can handle themselves, but his mates' concerns should be addressed so they can move forward without anxiety or guilt. He moves as he must to cast Message to Reena. "This is Berk, the half-orc. Be honest. Can you three leave safely without our further help? If not, we'll happily escort you." He waits for a reply.
Berkarak - Reena startles and turns around quickly, gripping her dagger with one hand and her makeshift cloak in the other, drawing it tight. She sees you and slowly seems to understand what just happened, "My father taught me to live off the land and we did so during more than one drought. I can't speak for the other two, but I will be fine." Thelmund speaks as he rummages through a crate, his body half inside, "We'll stick together fer as long as we can. Should'na be a problem." Jerrid seems less confident in his ability but assents, "I think if we stay together we should hopefully be okay."
Berkarakturns to the group and tries to assume a professorial tone. "Reena and the others will be fine if they stick together. I think we can let them handle themselves as we delve deeper into this cavern." He then walks to the southernmost passage. "This passage here seems awfully narrow, perhaps uncomfortably so for orcs. I'm curious what's this way." He casts Guidance on himself and looks and listens carefully down the narrow southern passage. (Perception: 14+3 guidance for 17)
