"Durgeddin!"Lehmani suddenly exclaims, still staring at the statue. She points to it. "This is his likeness..." She studies the statue further, inspecting it for further secrets, giving special attention to any ring that might be depicted on the statue's hand. "
Investigation (With Guidance): 5, darn it.
"Something about it called to me, though it breaks my heart that his effigy brought about the end of poor Thelmund."
Kalhala stares at Lehmani, his mouth agape, recovering after a moment, "You mean this is who you are having visions of? Whoa..." seeing that she is specifically looking at the statues hands, he attempts to look as well, now that the weapons are of no use.
Lehmani - Looking at the hands of the statue you see that they were sculpted with Durgeddin wearing gloves of plate mail and find no indication of a ring on either hand.
Kalhala - You too see the hands of Durgeddin carved to show him wearing mail gloves with no sign or indication of jewelry.
"Durgeddin fell into darkness." Lehmani says, lost in thought for a moment."Just like that brute I commanded onto the bridge..."
She turns to the others. "What remains of him must be down below. Perhaps that's why I felt the call when we found the mouth of the cavern where the stirges emerged... Either way, let's find a path out for the innocents so we can resume our search in haste."
She examines the western door and the trap at its foot. "If my direction sense is any good, this door should lead is toward the exit... Though, it seems odd that anyone would lay a trap at a point of egress. Still, perhaps this was installed to strike at any intruders coming in through the back door. What do you all think?"

Grymar backs away from the door, coming up to the top of the stairs and into the hallway. He nods to Zubien, saying “Exactly righ. There are several orcs in there, awaitin’ us.” He looks up at Kalhalla and says “Might be good for ya to bash in the door, but let’s see what is goin on over here.” He walks to the corner and takes in the statue, jaw dropping open. “Durgeddin!” Grymar smells the hint of gas poison and sees the body on the floor. “I don’t think I want the orcs in that room at our back. I think we should handle them first. What do you think?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Zubien listening to the conversation, "The trap may have been to protect the statue, but if there is an entrance nearby, then it could have been serving to protect against coming into here, though we are trying to get out."
"I agree with Zubien. This trap is to keep people out, not in. But the orcs know we're here now, that something's amiss,"he gestures to Thelmund. "They've probably barricaded this door as they regroup. I say we bash down this door—Kalhala bashes down this door—and we clear them out once and for all, and get those prisoners to safety."
Pulling out his greataxe, he sets the head on the ground with the handle sticking up in the air. Spitting on his hands and rubbing them vigorously together, he squares his shoulders and picks up his axe. "Back away now, ya don't want to get a splinter in the eye!"
And he swings at the door...
Completely whiffing. (Attack 8)
His face turns a bright red under the brown fur and he rubs the back of his neck as he stares at his axe. He cannot look any of you in the eye now, and with a much quieter voice, "Mind if I try that again?"
If no one disagrees... he sheepishly looks at Lehmani, "Um... could I get some of that.. I don't know what you do, but special stuff Mani?"
Kalhala - The footing is awkward with Thelmund's body still laying in front of the door and you manage to connect with the stone framing the top of the doorway as startled voices cry out from beyond it.
Lehmani offers Kalhala an empathetic smile. "It's alright, big guy... It happens to everyone now and then." She turns her focus to the door. "My personal mojo only works on unbarred doors, but I'll see what I can do..." With that, she attempts to open the door with Thaumaturgy.

Kalhala - Your greataxe slams into the stone door with a crash and knocks away a good portion of the upper half. Through the hole, you see a group of orcs staring wide-eyed at you with an elderly orc at their front. The elderly orc wears tattered robes and has long, matted, dreadlocked hair that hangs to their knees. The face is wrinkly and spotted with age, resembling a pumpkin left to sit too long after Liar's Night. The whiskers on the upper lip and chin would lead you to think this was a male, but the pendulous breasts and odd assortment of jewelry complicate the matter. Regardless, the elderly orc recovers from their shock and thrusts a gnarled wooden staff in your direction as they begin chanting some arcane incantation. The door is still closed, though there is a large hole in the upper half where roughly two-thirds of the upper portion was knocked away.
"Are you combatants, old timer? Your warriors are dead and you will be, too, if you fight us. If you are peaceful, go, alive, and find a new home. This is stolen land. If you stay, you will die by our blades."
Then in Common, "I'm asking if they'll go peacefully or if they're going to die by our blades."
Lehmani - The orc's eyes go unfocused for a moment but she quickly shakes it off and finishes casting her spell. A spectral weapon materializes in front of her in the form of a large spear.
Berkarak - The orc appears surprised to hear her own tongue spoken back at her. She steps to the side a bit to see you through the hole in the door,
"Feh! There are no blooded warriors here half-breed, you threaten children and the infirm." She eyes you all for a moment then sighs and shakes her head. Beyond her you see a group of twenty or so orcs, most young but some very old. They are huddled near the back wall, watching the interaction with wide, fearful eyes. The orc calls back to the group, "We must leave. This is our home no longer. Take what you can carry." She turns back to you, "We will leave. Would you permit us to take supplies from the storage cave? We have no food here and little in the way of adequate clothing."
