With an otherworldly howl, the Ancient White Dragon, while up on its hind legs, staggers but does not fall.

There is a small matter giving XP to Reggie so that he can level up. Orogs at 450 XP times nine, and one Orc War Chielf at 1100 XP is a total of 5150 XP. Split amoung 9 party members is 572XP for Reggie.
x80 Orcs, 8000 XP x20 Orog, 9000 XP x2 Hill Giants, 3600 XP total 20600 XP

Congratulations and good work. Taking a rest is a great idea for this stage in the adventure. Feel free to RP how you transport the carcass or we can add 1d6+8 days to carve and cart it away in wagons to the nearest outpost and have the Circle take it from there.
You've got some loot, and you have several followers, if you want to establish a home base in one of the outposts, let me know which one and I'll roll to see what you might get from that. Or you can create an outpost, with help from followers, in any square on the map. Otherwise, feel free to take as much downtime as needed and if you want to bargain with the Circle on the next task let me know. Otherwise, choose a new monster form the list.

Hmmm... I think that what I would like to do next is go ahead and transport the dragon's remains to the nearest city for the Circle. With this great task done, Akkron will ask the Arch Wizard Kane if he can use the dragon's remains to concoct a potion of dragon's majesty that can be used in the next battle against one of the dragon lords.
After that, I think I would like to hunt down a CR 14 monster... specifically, I would like to hunt an evil adult dragon (such as an adult black dragon... or, if one can be found, a greater death dragon)

Great potion, great option for CR 14. Let me level up your followers and I'll give you a new quest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Transporting the dragon's remains is no easy task. It takes all of your followers, and a little magic, to carve up the carcass and carry it onto wagons waiting at the bottom of the mountain path. The entire process takes you 13 days to move the dragon into wagons and escort those wagons to the closest outpost at G19.
The Outpost, named Carlsbad, is Yoku's home, so both you and the Ranger are welcomed back as heroes returned from a successful quest. The entire town erupts into a celebration and the party goes on long into the night.
Garwyn (aka Infantry Soldier 4) is heralded as a "Dragon Slayer", since his sword was the final blow. The Artillery Soldier 1, Oretta, becomes jealous and describes how Garwyn's attack wasn't enough and that it was her bolt that brought down the dragon. The feasthall is full of merriment, songs, and fellowship until dawn.
Day 44: Dawn The young girl, named Aletta is cleaning up the feasthall from the night before. She sees you and asks if there are any other tasks that she can perform to be more useful. After being orphaned, your troupe has taken her in and she has been extremely helpful for a 9 year old, sewing clothes, making meals, cleaning and washing. She seems happy but also sad and whenever the issue of returning to Sapphire City comes up, she says that she would rather stay with you and the Soldiers, "You can keep me safe."
Juno appears, seemingly out of thin air. In a disrespectful and sarcastic tone, she says, "I've got some big news and I'm sooo excited to tell you about it."
She sticks her finger in her mouth and pretends to gag. Her exaggerated performance goes on so long that two soldiers come to her aid. "I'm fine, idiots. It's just a joke. I love my new personal savior, the Draguuun Slayaaar."
She shifts immediately into a more formal and serious tone. "We have reports of a dragon attack, not 10 days ago, at Hawthorne Outpost, just two outposts east of here. The town has been evacuated and there is much destruction and devastation. From the description, this is no normal black dragon, it is in fact a greater death dragon. I'm sure you can take care of this with all the resources that we've given you."
She pretends to pull a pocket watch from her vest and looks surprised at her empty hand. "Oh look at that, I'm late." She casts polymorph on herself, using eldritch magic, and becomes a giant vulture and flies away.
Akkron watches the vulture until it disappears into the distance.
"That woman desperately needs to get laid," he says under his breath to Reggie. But he quickly takes on a more serious tone as he addresses the assembled men.
"Gentlemen... and lady," he says giving a fond smile to the little girl. "You just heard what Defender Juno said. There is another dragon that needs to be dealt with. This time, though, I do not think it would be wise to bring an entire army. You are all extremely capable men, and serving by your side is my honor... but this creature presents a danger that may be even greater than that of the dragon lord that we defeated by our combined efforts. I cannot ask you to risk your lives and your very souls against a death dragon."
He looks quite somber... but in this calamity is also an opportunity.
"Commander, Reginald, and Ranger Yoku, I need to speak to the three of you before I set out on this mission with Roxo. Though this turn of events is unfortunate, if we play our cards correctly then it may also be a spectacular opportunity."
Akkron is going to quickly switch out some equipment for this next task...
Commander Bernard brings Yoku and Reggie to your side when you are able to speak with all three of them in private. The Commander begins, "I see leadership and ability in you and I am convinced that you are only a force for good. Although the Circle may have their doubts, you have my oath of service." To which Reggie speaks up and says, "Mine too." And Yoku concludes by saying, "I've lived this long, I've got nothing to lose. I'm in."
3) I'm hoping that he's earned enough good-will to pick up a 4th-level spell scroll (specifically, a spell scroll of banishment) Yeah, scrolls are useful, Reggie will carry around magic missile scrolls forever.
I've begun making character slots in the unassigned section of the campaign. Feel free to check on the followers.
"Very good," Akkron says. "Now... here's what I'm going to do. Though powerful, death dragons have less will force of will and sense of self than living dragons. I can exploit that to bring it under my control and then we can use the creature in our confrontations with the remaining dragon lords... and I can do so without guilt should it perish in the battle. But I will need the three of you to help me out... Yuko, I would like you to accompany me during the assault to help Roxo keep the monster occupied while I do what needs to be done. Commander, Reginald, I feel that it would be wise to have the two of you help evacuate any civilians in the vicinity of the confrontation and quell any panic when I have brought the monster to heel. I don't want to bring the entire army simply because I we need to move quickly to deal with this menace before more lives are lost, which would be nearly impossible with an entire army."
Hawthorne Outpost is the second outpost east of Carlsbad Outpost (G19). It takes 4 days to get to Bog Hole Outpost (K21) and then 3 days to get to Hawthorne Outpost (N18). If you fly it will only take 4 days going east from G19 to N18.
* Horses, light provisions, no extra people or gear, 4 days to Bog Hole, by way of the roads * Wagons, heavy provisions, bring extra soldiers and followers, 4 days to Bog Hole, by way of the roads * Turn into dragons, eagles, ride mounted flying beasts, cast mass fly, head straight east, only stopping to land and camp, 4 days to Hawthorne * Teleportation, other modes of travel * On foot, by roads, 8 days to Bog Hole * On foot, trail blazing east, 14 days to Hawthorne * Do something else
Can Roxo carry all four of us (Akkron, the Commander, Reggie, and Yuko)? Akkron probably doesn't weigh much since his true form is a near-skeletal corpse (and he doesn't need any provisions either... if anyone asks "I am sustained by the arcane energies of the multiverse"), but I'm not as sure about the two fighters in full platemail. I'm planning to leave the rest of the army behind.
Akkron will go ahead and copy all the spells from his spell scrolls into his spellbook during the journey.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Akkron will go ahead and copy all the spells from his spell scrolls into his spellbook during the journey. >> Good idea. You've probably used previous downtime and travel time to do this as well.

>> I'll calculate the weight of each creature and round up and use the PHB x15 rule for carrying capacity, double for Large creatures.
Yoku weighs 110 lbs +(2d8 x2d4), avg 110 +(9x5) = 155 Reggie and the Commander each weigh 110 lbs +(2d10 x2d4, avg 110 +(11x5) = 165
Yoku carries two bows, studded leathers, and an explorer's pack, 4 +13 +59 = 76 Reggie and the Commander each carry one longsword, shield, plate, explorer's pack, 3 +6 +65 +59 = 113
155 +165 +165 +76 +113 +113 = 787 (rounding up to 800 for potions and shoe laces)
Roxo's Strength of 21 allows him to carry 21 x15 = 315 (Large creatures double this 630)
It seems you would need two Large Dragons or a Huge Dragon.
Hmmm... I guess that Reggie and the Commander can go on horseback, then. It would make the most sense to have those of us who can attack at a range in the air.
Akkron would like to travel light and get to where we need to be ASAP. We can recruit more followers after the dragon has been soundly beaten.

I'm in."

* Horses, light provisions, no extra people or gear, 4 days to Bog Hole, by way of the roads
* Wagons, heavy provisions, bring extra soldiers and followers, 4 days to Bog Hole, by way of the roads
* Turn into dragons, eagles, ride mounted flying beasts, cast mass fly, head straight east, only stopping to land and camp, 4 days to Hawthorne
* Teleportation, other modes of travel
* On foot, by roads, 8 days to Bog Hole
* On foot, trail blazing east, 14 days to Hawthorne
* Do something else

Yoku weighs 110 lbs +(2d8 x2d4), avg 110 +(9x5) = 155
Reggie and the Commander each weigh 110 lbs +(2d10 x2d4, avg 110 +(11x5) = 165
Yoku carries two bows, studded leathers, and an explorer's pack, 4 +13 +59 = 76
Reggie and the Commander each carry one longsword, shield, plate, explorer's pack, 3 +6 +65 +59 = 113

If some of my men will have to be on horseback anyway, I'll also go ahead and take the wizard and the bard along.
