Bryony looks over the edge of the cliff. It's a 20' deep rift ending in a boulder and debris-strewn cavern floor. Secured to iron stakes along its edge are several ropes leading to the chasm floor. The stream tumbles into the rift and flows to the north. To the south of the stream she sees a salty, bloodied elf with a banged up arm and a sobering scowl – Ruven. He's clearly not in great shape but still alive.
One of the bugbears bends and picks up Nezznar’s spider staff.
"I sense your distrust. Do you think I am hiding something?" asks the dwarf to Quinn (in Common.) "Would you like a tour?" He sweeps his arm behind him, toward the west. "We have set up a temporary headquarters here. It's an old temple to Dumadum, our dwarven god of mining. Beautiful statue there. I am happy to show you around, but then you must depart."
The dwarf, flanked on the stairs by the two surviving bugbears (one badly wounded and bleeding heavily; the other uninjured and holding Nezznar's spider staff), beckons Boona, Jurgen, and Quinn to follow him.
"You have killed the Spider and four of his employees. You have complicated our investigation and clearing of my mine. But if it will yield a truce and an end to your hostilities – and allay your suspicions" – he glares at Quinn – "then we will grant you a brief tour of the temple. But then you must leave and not return."
Meanwhile, Bryony dallies at the top of the rift, where she can see Ruven, bloodied but conscious, looking up at the bugbears' ropes dangling down to where he stands.
Boona doesn't pick up on a lot, but she does smell fear. And something else - something alien. She knows dwarves and this guy is like no dwarf she's ever encountered. But he is scared, and a little desperate, and looking for an escape opportunity – that she can smell like a rat in a trap.
Pushing past the uncertain bugbears, Boona clobbers Nundro over the head with her maul.
He screams in high-pitched pain, and bleeding heavily, makes a run for it.
Nundro: Dash to the west and then out of sight...
But first, Boona may get in an opportunity attack.
The bugbears close ranks – sealing the hallway from anyone but Boona moving west past them without killing one of them first.
Everyone except Boona may act... • Quinn may make a melee attack against the bugbear or a ranged attack against Nundro, who has half-cover. • Jurgen may make a melee attack against the bugbear or a ranged attack against Nundro, who has three-quarters cover. • Bryony may approach the fresh battle and make a ranged attack against the bugbear if she chooses. • Ruven may try to climb out of the rift • Boona may make that opportunity attack, and use her movement to chase if she wants to risk two opportunity attacks from the bugbears.
Quinn takes advantage of the sudden outburst of violence and strikes at the wounded bugbear with Lightbringer. As the wounded dwarf flees, Quinn magically marks it as his prey so that he can better identify what they're dealing with and track it down if it get's away.
Attack:16 to hit for 18 damage (12 + 6 from colossus slayer)
With the dwarf marked with Hunters Mark, Quinn learn gets a read on the following:
Hunter’s Lore - You can call on the forces of nature to reveal certain strengths and weaknesses of your prey. While a creature is marked by your Hunter’s Mark, you know whether that creature has any Immunities, Resistances, or Vulnerabilities, and if the creature has any, you know what they are.
Quinn also has ADV on perception or survival checks to find it.

The halfling moves to steady one of the ropes, intending to help the wizard climb back up.

Quinn speaks in Giant to Boona: "Boona. I think we have to smash 'em. But not yet. Keep an eye on them, if they move towards us, smash."
He turns his head towards Bryony without taking his eyes off the dwarf and calls out to her in Giant. "Bryony! How's Ruven? Is he alive?"

( Can that count as a trigger? Pretty Please.)
(Boona: You mean you want to use this roll to attack Nundro? I'll allow if that's your intent.)
