Xivros climbs on with the others, enjoying their little cruise. "Joy? Hmm. I know a lady named Joy, Feathereen. She lives down the road a ways. The potters wife. She's pretty handy with a cheese our Ms. Joy. And butters too of course."
Marwan considers the question for a moment or two "Joy is another word for happiness, in a way, you know? if you want to be literal about it." he anwsers

Xivros, the tall, lanky blond man in gray on gray robes, a little more stylish and finer made at a closer look than the drab appearance they have at a glance, turns to the newcomer after the question about joy. "Good to meet you Raging Rory Redtop." The man's accent hints that he's likely from one of the local villages. "Ah'm Xivros. Got a little distracted by the talkin swan. Didn't mean to be rude. We've just been doing bit of a tour of the fair, generally makin our way counterclockwise. We're mebbe looking for a displaced displacer beast named star. And, ah reckon I might be missin' something too. But it's a bit difficult to put mah finger on." Xiv glances at Marwan, not wanting to speak for him about what he might be missing.
The swan seems to like your answers, and becomes quite social. "A displaced displacer beast? Why I heard a young cub wen missing quite some time ago. Probably got into trouble, sticking its nose in somewhere it didn't belong. You have to watch those youngins."

"You ain't seen her by chance? Any idea where a kitten might want to stick their nose?" Xivros tried to think of what a displacer kitten might be interested in, but he was a little more familiar with goats and geese.
"Me, why no! I mind my own business, thank you very much. For instance, I would never gossip about what I saw Candlefoot flub earlier. Wow, did he make a disastrous attempt to propose to Palasha, the mermaid. He was about to declare his love for the mermaid in front of everyone, when the words left him with a gasp! It was most unusual, and he hasn’t spoken a word since. Poor Palasha was very upset. I do hope she can recover."

Rory has seen Missing Cat Posters hung around the various towns and taverns he has frequented, and he recalls they usually offer a reward. Intrigued by the potential for an easy payday, turns to his gondola-mates, “This missin’ beast, she dangerous?” he asks as he reclines, placing his bare feet up on the railing/dashboard of the vessel and chewing on a fresh blade of grass.
"Huh, wonder if that Candlefoot lost his voice..." To Rory's question, Xivros scratched his peach fuzz. "That's a good question. Reckon we oughta be prepared for the possibility. She went missing years ago, so I'd be guessin she's a lot bigger than when she went missing. But... maybe not. Fairy magic does strange things to time."
"If missing creatures is your forté, you could also be on the lookout for Hurly", the swan chimes in. Apparently she is quite gossipy. "No one knows what happened to Hurly, but everyone knows he never really fit in."

"We certainly will be now, what does this 'hurley' look like?" Marwan notes, taking it upon himself, considering "I Don't suppose you know any other interesting stories from around the pond, Miss Swan? maybe you could tell us where this proposal took place? The lost voice sounds remarkably similar to something we're looking for."

"Looking for a lost voice, how very interesting! Of course, no harm in sharing that bit of information. In fact, it was very public, just on the side of Silversong Lake. Poor Candlefoot. Poor Palasha. Star-crossed lovers, perhaps? Neither may ever recover. She even gave him his color back, when they are together."
Regarding Hurly, she sighs deeply. "Why, I didn't know the fellow well, as I say, he didn't really fit in. But I am good friends with his brother, Burly. He has a profound mind and is simply wasted guarding the staff wagons. He misses his brother tremendously. We often debate into the late of the night on many a subject."

"Perhaps one of our targets lives near Silversong Lake then, maybe the swamp dweller? thank you for the information, Feathereen, It is definitely helpful, so far we have gotten far more out of animals than any person could tell us."

"Much obliged." Xivros agreed."So you reckon we ought to talk to Burly first or Palasha. Or see if Candlefoot can maybe... mime what happened?"It was really starting to sound like there was an awful lot of stuff going missing and not all of them people who'd snuck into the carnival.
"Palasha is probably closer, Silversong Lake is right next to where the swan boats probably let off, and we might be able to find them there, mayhaps we can split up? I will see if I can find burly in the staff area, you can inspect Silversong Lake and look for clues, as well as Palasha, then, we will meet by the big top to discuss our findings." Marwan suggests, trying to cover more ground. "Rory, you can see if you can't find Candlefoot."

Xiv shrugs. “Sounds alright by me,” as he tries to get his bearings while they’re riding round the park. “Reckon I can find my way easy enough. Rory, you’re welcome to tag along with me if you’d like. Palasha might know where to find this Candlefoot fella.”
The ride was long, almost an hour! But as you debark, Feathereen bids you fairwell.
Marwan heads to the staff area. A tangled wall of thorns surrounds a cluster of wagons lit by lanterns. This caravan is barely visible through the thicket. He finds a fairy arguing with the wall, it seems, although the wall does not argue back.
Meanwhile, Xiv looks for this Palasha (and perhaps Rory tags along?). Silversong Lake is easy to find. Mist gathers at the banks of the shimmering lake. Near its center, a mermaid lounges in a giant bowl, singing a glorious, haunting song that captivates spectators on the lakeshore. In response, the lake water coalesces into magical sculptures that whirl around her as she performs.

The fairy, a blond girl about 2 ft tall, struggles to put her fake wings on in a way that won't inhibit her real wings, as she waits for the ticket keeper (Nickolas Midnight) to answer her questions about lost things (ooc: post 194)
"Maybe someone else has mentioned looking for lost things?"' she asks as she flaps her wings for a test hover.
She follows the directions the goblin gives her, alternating walking & flying. And questioning sideshows about lost things or people looking for them as she goes.
Rory, having nothing better to do, follows Xiv to do… what was it? Looking for someone? He wasn’t really paying attention.
As they walk, his head swivels side to side taking in the sights, his mouth slightly agape at the seemingly endless collection of wonders and eccentricities.
As Rory looks around, he sees a satyr with red-and-white-striped horns plays the pipes while leading a procession of dancing rodents. It is quite the spectacle!
Robin (the fairy) gets little from the goblin at the ticket gate other than "Sure, many are looking for lost things. Sometimes they find them, sometimes they don't. Perhaps you should be more careful with those things you treasure most!"

A fairy flies through the entrance, hovering as she interacts with the Ticket Keeper:
"Thanks for the tickets. Why so many? I'm looking for something I lost. Any advice? Maybe you have a Funhouse?"
"Fake wings?", she asks. "Kind of redundant, no?", she asks looking at her own wings. "Can I fly with them?"
The entire conversation she hasn't smiled. Which is odd considering a smile face pendant is obvious on her "forest" colored leather outfit.
(OOC: her comments are her side of the conversation with the ticketkeeper.)
