You Mount up after getting your ticket punched, and are ready to go. Suddenly, shouts of alarm erupt from a nearby lily pad. A giant dragonfly has just taken off prematurely with a patron on its back: a middle-aged dwarf with a bright blue beard sits unfastened in his harness.
What do you do? Also. Could everyone make a Perception check?

Xivros doesn't hesitate to move that way quickly. If he's near a dragon fly, he'd mount up to get to the struggling dwarf more quickly. Otherwise Xiv will cover the distance on foot.
He'd rather not injure dwarf or beast, but if it seems like the dragon fly is out of reach, he could attempt a ray of frost to slow the overgrown insect down, but that is a desperate, last resort.
Thinking rather quickly, Marwan rushes over and uses mage hand, With said mage hand, he will try to pull the reins of the dragonfly, or whatever is used to control the dragonfly, to both try and pull the dragonfly back and to keep it from getting too far away, Animal handling: !4, in game log "Woah there!" Marwan shouts towards the dragonfly as he pulls it back, trying to get it to land safely so the dwarf can properly buckle up.

The mage hand trick worked! (really, it was the successful Animal Handling, but using the mage hand saved you having to chase it down). There is cheering from the onlookers, and you get the sense that the general mood of the carnival has improved.
You also all noticed that just a few moments before, there was a Kenku that appeared to be whispering something to the bolting dragonfly. The whisperer disappeared into the crowd rather quickly.

Xivros scratches his head. The others are probably good with the dwarf, so he focuses on seeing if he can track down that Kenku. Though he keeps his eyes peeled, he puts most of his effort into asking around to see if anyone in the crowd saw where they went.
"Pardon, y'all see a kenku pass by here a bit ago?"
Marwan hmms, he believes that the kenku is just your average troublemaker, he for one respects the chaos, so he will focus on making sure the dwarf is ok, and wasn't hurt, could have whiplash or something. "Are you alright, sir?"

The dwarf scratches his bright blue beard, and mutters, "Alright? Alright. Aliright! Yes, I am fine. I am not sure what happened... I was told these things were safe! I want my ticket back!"
While the dwarf tries to get unbuckled, the treant walks over. "Of course, good sir. I can issue a refund, or offer two free rides if you care to try again."
Meanwhile, Xivros has no real luck in tracking down the kenku. (You can make an investigation check, though, which might reveal more.)

Xivros takes a glance around, but finding hidden things isn't one of his best skills so he quickly gives up and returns to the ride, still interested in having a go. Just in case someone sabotaged his dragonfly too, he gives a soft whisper of his own. "Just having a nice loop or two around the course, you and I, yeah?"
(That investigation was 5 Animal handling to chat up his dragonfly when it's time to go.)
As the "ride" starts, you do see this is meant to be a gentle, fun flight. Your dragonfly flies in a lazy figure eight around the carnival’s thoroughfare, at a height of about 20 feet. If you try to steer, the mount resists, pretty much dedicated to its predetermined path.

"That was rather enjoyable, I find, Perhaps we'll have better luck with the swans? it does look like they go through the swamp on the map, but if you all want to do something else, I'm fine with that as well" Marwan notes, humming to himself in thought, considering their clues so far "Perhaps we should make a stop at each of the rides? we could get more clues."

"We'd best make good time, I don't want to miss the big top show, the feasting orchard is the closest, mayhaps we do a sweep in that counterclockwise direction?" Marwan suggests, beginning to lead the way.

Music and mirth radiate from this park. The heady scents of flowers, mead, and berry pie waft through the air. Stilt-walkers pluck fruit from trees; musicians drum, pipe, and strum; and everywhere there is singing, dancing, and an inordinate amount of custard. There is a sign announcing a Faerie Cake eating contest that takes place every hour. The next one is about to start soon, and costs one ticket punch to enter.
In the orchard, you see a gnome lass with bright eyes and a kind smile. She sits on a swing that hangs from the branch of a pear tree, plucking the strings on her lute while eyeing you.

"How do you do, miss." Xivros says lightly with a warm smile. "Are you the one to punch out tickets for the cake eating contest? I reckon I could eat one or two." The tall thin man chuckles, knowing he looks like he barely eats.
