Hoid takes a contrarian position and misses the wolf, allowing the wolf to use its own attacks to lead to its exhaustion.
A brilliant strategy that is executed perfectly by Hoid, widely missing the wolf. The Dwarven Dope-n-Dope strategy clinic is now is session.
Trolkarl's Eldritch Blast catches goblin5 unprepared and knocks him to the ground, unmoving.
Goblin4 emerges from the cave and closes in on Gneuman (moving through Ripper's space at double cost to avoid AOO from Hoid) and slashes with his scimitar, injuring Gneuman. This goblin was injured in the previous fight in this room and you recognize it as the one who ran to the cave beyond. To Hit = 17, damage = 5.
Ripper the wolf is much larger than the other two wolves you previously encountered. It has a nasty scar across its muzzle as well.

No that was a funny narrative!! About pissed myself.

I’ll piss myself after I miss again and take more damage!
Erbert looks shocked at the size of the wolf, he says out of the side of his mouth to Bronk behind him, “Damn. Guess that didn’t work. That’s Ripper, huh?” He funnels his hands towards the dire wolf and a bolt of flame shoots forward at it.
Fire bolt : 13 to hit, for 3 points of flame damage.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Bronk nods vigorously when asked if that is Ripper. “Klarg feed me…..him.,” as his widened eyes dart about in fear:
Erbert’s spell finds the flank of Riipper and the acrid odor of burning fur fills the air. The wolf snarls in response, fixing its gaze on Erbert.
A large bugbear emerges with lithe movement from the shadows of the cave. Its great muscles flexing powerfully and announcing in broken Common, “Klarg boss here!” Klarg is spitting angry, carrying a javelin and an ugly morning star. “Klarg kill you. Food for Ripper!,” it bellows as it hurls the javelin at……Bronk! To hit = 14, Damage = 8.
Bronk collapses with a cut off scream, javelin piercing his left shoulder. He lies bleeding.
“Klarg kill. Eat your bones!,” he declaims as he readies his morning star.
Chadwick runs around the group getting up a good head of steam to add a little extra behind his swing. His goal is to behead the goblin and send it flying towards Klarg. All the while giggling and saying "if this works it's gonna be so awesome".
Roll: 20 Dam: 9
Dex check to hit Klarg with head 9
If the goblin drops he'll step into it's spot so Gary Gnu can flank and he can put Ripper at disadvantage for attacking his friends.
Chadwick leaves Bronk injured and closes on the remaining goblin. He swings his axe mightily and attempts to finesse lobbing the goblins head at Klarg. He succeeds in splashing Hoid, Kragen and himself with goblin blood and gore. He moves to close in on Ripper. ( Difficult terrain to cross wall to enter and exit pools. Not enough movement left to do so this round. )
Gneuman attacks the wolf who dodges his initial strike with his staff. Gneuman's kick lands squarely on the head of the wolf eliciting another, more frenzied snarl in response.
Ripper snaps back at Gneuman taking a vicious bite of the gnome. To hit = 15, damage = 7.
Can Chadwick tell if this is a different wolf from the ones that were chained in the entrance (Fluffy and Snuggles).
I expect that Bronk would tell you it is Ripper (based on the icon label).

Dope-n-Dope is offensive. Two Stooges, please.
We might have to add someone from the HR class as our next party member to keep us in line.

Dopey-n-Dopey?
Erbert is up.

Bronk succeeds at his first stabilization check.
Gneuman to act.
Laughing at the spray of gore Chadwick yells "Hey Klarg why don't you step up here and give me a challenge instead of cowering back there!".
Gneuman swings at Ripper: 4+5 =9. Swing and a miss...
Follow up kick to the head: 9+5=14 (damage 4+3=7)
Kick to Ripper or the severed head?
Gneuman attacks the wolf who dodges his initial strike with his staff. Gneuman's kick lands squarely on the head of the wolf eliciting another, more frenzied snarl in response.
Ripper snaps back at Gneuman taking a vicious bite of the gnome. To hit = 15, damage = 7.
Kragen is up.
Crowdsourcing Kragen: move to the side of Ripper opposite Hoid for a flanking attack on Ripper.
Icon repositioned.
Hoid to act. (( Then Trolkarl, then Erbert ))
20 to hit, 12 damage on Ripper.
Did Kragen use both actions moving? If not maybe he could heal Gneuman, then move since he"s down to 5hp.
