(Alright, thx for telling me the original roll. Haha, dang dice roller.)
Continuing on, Omen skillfully manages to avoid the webs. He's nearly made it through the thorny mess.
Kit on the other hand, instantly bumps into another web as she pulls out her longsword. Screeching, another spider lashes out at her.

Once across the thorns, you can both clearly make out the large key hanging above the water. It’s about the size of a child’s hand and has been ornately shaped with twisting vines and a rose at the top. It hangs about six feet above the water, and 20ft away from the bank. The pool is about 6ft deep at the center. As you saw before, there are stone arches all the way around the pool, though many of them are crumpled from age. Just on the outside of the thorns, five stones make yet another ring around the arches. They appear to have something carved into them.
Omen once again winces as a hidden spider attacks kit. "Hey! Follow my lead would you? I don't want you getting hurt. Step where I step." The kenku suggests as he tries to help Kit to avoid getting attacked. He then takes a deep breath and makes his final move towards the key...
Using kenku recall for advantage 27
Once he cleared the webs and thorns, he would inspect the key and then the carved stones... trying to determine how the key is suspended and if there is some kind of magic at work that he needs to be concerned with....

Despite Omen's offer of aid, Kit is DONE with these spiders. She dashes towards the clearing rushing past Omen, and even managing to wack a spider on her way there, saving Thar from it's attack as he stumbles directly into it's nest. Omen exits the thorny mess just after Kit, with Thar bringing up the rear. However, just as he thinks he's clear of danger, Thar stumbles into another web, and without Kit's quick reflexes to scare it off, the spider lunges out at the bugbear.

(Oof that critical fail lol) First looking at the key, to Omen's eyes it looks as if it's suspended above the water by nothing. It's just floating there. Baffled, he clears off some of the stones hoping to see if perhaps they hold some sort of clue as to what magic is holding up the key. However, he is disappointed when the Stone he uncovers has a picture carved into it rather than actual runes. Examining it for magical properties, he is fairly certain that the stone and even the key are not magical themselves. The only magical thing that sticks out to him right now, is the fact that under these trees it seems like it's night time when he knows the sun should still be high in the sky. So wrapped up in thinking about magic, he fails to actually register what the picture on the stone is.
Kit, focusing on the stones notes that they don't seem magical either....well maybe someone used magic to carve them? Regardless, they don't seem to hold any magical properties as they are. However, she does immediately recognize the carving.
It shows a woman with her hands spread out to each side. To her left there are people kneeling and holding their hands up to her, flowers, trees and vines growing around them. To the left, figures are pointing and raising fists towards her. Vines grow on this side too, but they all bear prominent thorns the trees on this side have no leaves.
It is the second picture you saw on the scroll from the mayor's library.
Thar, now noticing the key, notes that it appears to be hanging from a spider web. The web is what's holding it above the water.
Kit tries to hide her grimace as she examines the stone. Although she didn't believe it, she had still been holding out hope that maybe the image on the scroll had simply been an unfortunate coincidence.
"It's the picture from the scroll."
There's no need to say the words, but breaking the silence helps to stave off the growing dread.
"Maybe there's more to the story. Help me clear off the rest the stones."
Fueled by a mixture of anxiety and hope, Kit sheaths her longsword and begins to enthusiastically clear the remaining stones.
Thanks to his thick skin, Thar is saved from the worst of the spider's bite, but he clears off the webs moving his hands quickly in front of him to scare away the spiders.
"I think I can reach there with my weapon and cut the web from where the key hangs..."he offers to the others.
"Do we have away to catch the key when it falls?" Omen asks Thar when he mentions cutting the web. "Also... what if the key is bait? By taking the key are going to alert some other larger spider?" The kenku asks with a look of concern.
While considering the dangers involved in taking the key, the kenku assists in uncovering the stones so that he can help to interpret the drawings.
In order, this is what's depicted on the stones, you are easily able to piece together which stone is the beginning of the story.
Stone 1 – a young girl with a raven perched on her shoulder and a stag at her side. She holds a hand out over a bush, half of which has blooming flowers while the other half has withered and dead.
Stone 2- Shows a woman with her hands spread out to each side. To her left there are people kneeling and holding their hands up to her, flowers, trees and vines growing around them. To the right, figures are pointing and raising fists towards her. Vines grow on this side too, but they all bear prominent thorns the trees on this side have no leaves.
Stone 3 -the same woman sits on a throne in the center of a pentagram.
Stone 4 -the woman is surrounded by armed figures holding what looks like stars in their left hands. The woman looks to be screaming, and appears to be hovering over a black hole in the ground.
Stone 5 -A sealed tomb. Around it are flowers and wildlife, but in its shadow grows thorny vines.

"They buried her alive," Kit says with an obvious shudder, "what could she have possibly done to justify something like that?"
Feeling ill, Kit tries to distract herself by taking a closer look at the fourth stone, hoping to recognize the star symbol.
(Kit's assuming that warriors are paladins and the star is some type of holy symbol. Based on that, I'm going to roll a religion check in case it turns out to be relevant. Religion 2)
"Or perhaps they killed her and sealed her body away in the tomb.." Omen adds as he examines the stones and listens to Kit's interpritation. "Maybe the people holding stars indicate magic users. If they are capturing people that have a relationship with the Fey... maybe they are looking to use magic to free the woman... or bring her back from the dead?" The kenku wonders aloud.
He then looks to the water where the key is dangling above and tries to determine if this could be the hole depicted in the images... simply filled now with water.
"The mayor said the only help that came from the surrounding towns was a knight. Does anyone remember seeing them? If the warriors are supposed to be knights then maybe there's a connection between them and the one that answered the call."
"Either way we need to find her tomb, or prison and we will find the missing. And perhaps stop the killing. I do not think we have to justify what happened in the past, we are not accountable for that, but this woman.. or the ones trying to free or resurrect her are for what they are doing,... " adds the bugbear to his friends thoughts
Based on what you know of ancient depictions of similar things. You can determine that yes, these are likely paladins and the stars in their hands either symbolize holy power or divine judgement. Though Omen's thought about it being magic is also technically correct.
As Omen looks at the hole, he quickly deduces that it is not the tomb in the carving. The area looks as if it used to be at the center of what was once a rose garden. You also find remains of stone benches along the crumbled remains of the arches surrounding the pool. Those thorns you crossed to get here likely used to be a manicured hedge maze. However, circling the pool, you find that directly across from where you entered the area, there is a clear path leading deeper into the woods. As you get closer to this path, that familiar smell of blood and roses hits you, and you see a trail of small budding rose plants directly down the center of the path. Those are the only rose plants with flowers in your proximity.
"I think we should grab the key before we continue..." Omen says as he looks from the key to his companions. His gaze stops upon the bugbear. "You are taller and more athletic than myself.. perhaps you could leap up there and grab it?" He asks with a nod.
"I don't know, this feels like a trap to me..." Kit mutters half to herself and half to the Kenku. Tightening her grip on the longsword, she holds the torch aloft and scans the area above the key in case any threat drops from above.
Thar tries to reach the key, using his full stature and his long arm. If he sees that this is not enough he will increase in size trying to reach and take the key.
(He will use giant's might if necessary... Athletic roll:25 with advantage in case giant's might must be used... 24)
(Sorry for taking so long to respond. I've had some things going on :'D. Nothing bad, it's just been keeping me busy)
With his increased size, Thar is able to slice the small spider's thread holding up the key. He has to wade a bit into the water in order to make sure he catches the key rather then letting it plunge into the center of the pool. With his althetic prowess, he is able to pull this off.
You all wait for a moment, expecting some sort of trap. However, nothing happens...yet.
Key in hand, the three of you inevitably continue down the path. This path leads directly to another small open area, though it is mostly clear of thorns. Just like the rest of the trail had been, no sunlight enters the area. At the opposite end of this clearing is a stone structure, which marks the end of the path as beyond it is more dense forest. The structure has a round stone door, set at an angle that suggests it leads downwards, around it is the only area with obvious thorny vines growing around it. Moving closer, you see the door has a keyhole directly in the center.
