Wolf 3: 22 - Wolf 3 is chained up so will just continue straining and barking this round. Strength check against the chain: 3
Aeran: 20
Willow: 19
Wounded goblin: 19

Wolf 3's action is already covered off above, so it's over to Alden, followed by Aeran please. Then I'll do the next four before Lukuth gets to swing his axe-torch.
Aeran's eyes fixate on the short figure of the goblin, trying to release the rest of the wolves. Without thinking too much, the paladin charges towards the nasty creature, attempting to slash at the goblin.

Aeran Dormaris - L2 Paladin on his way to Phandelver
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alden's arrow whizzes past Aeran's nose as he leaps down the two steps to close with the goblin. The arrow narrowly misses the leaping wolf and clatters harmlessly into the cavern wall.
The goblin just manages to raise its shield in time to catch Aeran's sword stroke and deflect it away from its body. Abandoning its attempt to free the wolves in the face of this latest threat, it stands and thrusts its blade towards Aeran's stomach before slashing towards his face. Its grotesque face looms large in Aeran's vision, eyes full of desperation.
The goblin's desperate attacks catch only Aeran's mail and air as the elf deftly avoids any damage.
As he does so, Willow slinks into the room and as Mara makes the same incantation and grasping motion that she made outside the cave, the cat pounces at the beleaguered goblin's foot.

Once again there is the crackle of electricity in the air and a bluish flash momentarily dazzles those in the cavern. The goblin shrieks in pain and surprise and leaps a foot into the air before coming down and staring incredulously at Willow, who adopts an aggressive posture, teeth bared and hackles up. Outside the cave, Mara allows herself a small smile, but knowing that Alden and Aeran are still in danger inside, she remains focussed on the task at hand.
The second wolf, which the goblin had been trying to release before he was interrupted by Aeran, lunges at the elf. With sufficient slack in the chain, it tries to lock its jaws onto Aeran's leg.

Whilst keeping an eye on the shocked goblin, Aeran manages to step away from the snapping jaws of the wolf.
I just realised that Mara should have had advantage on Shocking Grasp because the target is wearing metal armour. It hit anyway but I'll roll again in case it's a crit.
The raging barbarian swings his axe-torch savagely, causing the shadows in the cave to dance and flicker, and catches the airborne wolf with a heavy blow to the hindquarters. The impact checks the creature's momentum and it falls short, its claws scrabbling on the rocky floor for purchase. Still worked into a frenzy despite its injury, the wolf continues its attack, lunging at Lukuth's forward leg.

The beast's sharp teeth tear into Lukuth's lower leg. The goliath's blood reddens its jaws as it pulls back, snarling. The sound of the other two wolves barking and growling fills the cavern. Spittle flies from their gnashing jaws as they strain to get at the intruders.
That's 3 damage (halved due to rage). No need to mention the game log for your rolls. If you haven't rolled on here I know to look at the log.
Lukuth, You also need to do a STR saving throw to see whether or not it can pull your leg from under you and knock you prone. Do this with advantage because of your rage.
Alden, carry on with your next action, don't wait for Luk's STR save.
Wolf 3 will do another STR check against the chain: 9

Most people who met him would think it sufficient to say that Mayres Sigil was not good at paying attention. This was inaccurate, however, as Mayres was quite able to focus on a task if he was interested in it - the simple matter was that he was not too terribly interested in people or their lives. The ones he hated, the ones he cherished, his allies, his enemies, they were all like rocks in a stream; diverting Mayres’ path temporarily before he moved ever onwards towards his goal of raising Annabel. He liked people, he did, he just didn’t like interacting with them nor did he have enough practice doing so.
And while this all seemed rather unconnected to what was happening it actually was, as that (the matter of people and relationships and his current companions) was what Mayres had been pondering on the trek up the goblins’ trail. In fact, he was so distracted by this, he barely even noticed the battle happening until the donkey, Malcolm, made quite a fuss.
Mayres led Malcom to a tree (If Needed Animal Handling Check: 15) and tied him to it, before sprinting into the mouth of the cave, sparks flickering between his fingers. After all, goblins could burn like anyone else.

As the wolf takes a chunk out of Lukuth's leg, Alden gathers himself and breathes deeply to slow his thudding heart. Nocking another arrow, his focus closes in until there is nothing but him and his target. The sounds of battle, the rush of the stream, the patter of the rain, all become elsewhere to him. He hears only silence and sees only the snarling, red-jawed beast framed by the cave entrance and starkly lit by the magical light of Lukuth's axe.
The moment he looses, he knows precisely where it's going. The world rushes back into his consciousness as the arrow flies true and pierces the wolf's heart. It is dead before it hits the ground. Satisfaction and relief wash over the ranger at having eliminated the threat to his friend.
Meanwhile, Aeran is locked in combat with the goblin whose desperation is growing by the second. Again, it just manages to catch Aeran's swing on its shield, as its eyes dart about looking for a way out. Dying here in this cave is not part of its plan. Faced by the elven warrior, it fails to notice as Willow disengages and slinks back out the way she came.
Suddenly the goblin lashes out with two savage slashes at Aeran's head, designed to make him step back as much as to wound him, then quick as a flash it turns tail and flees towards the back of the cave where there is a narrow vertical fissure surrounded at the bottom by a pile of rocks, bones and other detritus. Slipping through the opening, the creature drops its shield, sheaths its blade and begins to scrabble upwards. There must be some sort of natural chimney that leads somewhere.

Mara picks up the front of her robes with her left hand to keep them away from the tumbling waters, revealing a pair of sturdy leather boots. She hurries inside the cave mouth, slipping on the slick rocks but saving herself with an outstretched arm.
"Whoops!" She says to herself. "Nearly!"
Skidding to a halt next to Lukuth, she mutters an incantation, gestures with her left hand and points the crystal atop her staff into the room with the other.
Mara casts Sleep, centred on the goblin climbing the chimney: 21
Aeran easily sways back out of range of the wild swings but the goblin is too quick to disengage for him to make an attack as it turns its back. It is gone before he can react.
As Mara casts her spell, Aeran feels a strange sense of calm and warmth come over him, like a thick blanket. He might have imagined it, but it seemed the light from Lukuth's axe dimmed slightly as well. The effect lasts only a moment for him, but others in the room feel it more profoundly.
With a clatter of equipment and falling rocks, the goblin who had been escaping up the chimney falls back into view, tumbling and sliding to rest on the pile of debris. It is fast asleep. At the same time, the wolf that had been snapping at Aeran's ankles (Wolf 2) also drops into a magical slumber, chin on paws as if there wasn't a battle going on around it. Mara nods in satisfaction.
The one wolf remaining alive and conscious (Wolf 3), now alone, begins to back away from the threat, pushing itself against the cavern wall and growling.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Presumably alerted by the sounds of fighting, three more goblins appear from deeper within the cave. The leading one is dressed in mail, similar to the one that Mara just put to sleep, whilst the two following it are in leathers and armed with bows. Seeing Lukuth in the entrance to the wolves' chamber, the leader shouts something that might be an order or maybe a war cry, and charges at the goliath, sword upraised.

So he decided to try again with the bow.
He took an arrow from the quiver, breathed calmly, drew the bow and shot

Alden taking a deep breath and calm himself forgetting about his missed shots.
He still has a clear view on his target and taking another chance to send the next arrow towards his target
To hit 25 / Damage 19 (game log)
