Mimzy immediately flits down responding to his request and places his things into her Bag of Holding, "just let me know if you should have need of something later should something come up."
Being a bit disappointed at how his swamp soles failed to perform in actual water, he shook them off and slide them back into his bag. Another dip into the bag and he pulled out the flying broom. Mender's plan was a great, simple solution to an obstacle Mugwort would have gotten frustrated trying to solve.
"I can hang all the bags on the broom handle so nothing gets wet... I hope."
He is still a bit confused on how the broom will perform when tied to a block of ice and floating goliath though. "Maybe one or two test 'pulls' first?"
Kaelroc uncoils 50 feet of hempen rope. Asking Mender swim and loop it around the ice-raft handing it back to Kaelroc - parsing out 15 ft to hand to Mugwort. That should be enough to give you some height and leverage. Leaving the remaining coiled rope on the raft.

Upon hearing Mugworts idea Mimzy swoops in on the broom behind him and whispers into his ear, "you're new to flying but you have to remember there is always the risk something unexpected happening where you might need to perform an emergency maneuver. If so, you risk dropping things into the water. Probably best to just stow things away properly in your Bag of Holding."
Mender would work the rope under the boat as instructed by Kaelroc before handing the end of the rope to the large companion. After passing off the rope he would continue swimming around and looking for pearls and other underwater wildlife. The kobold had missed the water... and although it was not nearly as clear the water that would lash the golden beaches of the Emerald Crown, it still made him feel closer to home.
When everything is tied up.. tied off... tied in whatever nautical term, Mugwort will suggest a basic 'broom pull test' a few feet into the water and along the shore... to make certain this concept 'works'. Very slow, low and not major stops or starts.

Kaelroc is watching the shore cautiously, seeing how pulling the 600 pounds of ice, goliath, and pup is working.
Mugwort made one last suggestion to Kaelroc. "Perhaps you can go chop down a small tree and turn it into a long 'pole' stick so you can help pole the raft forward?"
If this is agreeable and a 18-20 foot pole is acquired, Mugwort will lift off and attempt to aid/guide the ice floe raft as Kaelroc helps break inertia and gets the raft moving forward.
"Straight across? Or 30 feet or so paralleling the banks?" You ask no one in particular as you gaze across the nearly flat waters to the other side of the marshy water.
Humming a bit of an offkey tune - one he heard Mimzy sing once or twice at the Inn - Mugwort slowly picks up speed to a brisk 'walk' for the broom.
"Straight towards the ruins!" Mender would say as he floats on his back alongside the ice boat. He would periodically wave a hand towards the boat and cause a gentle current that helps move the boat forward.
Kaelroc smiles. Yes I can get us a long log. He looks at the nearest hardwood that meets the length specified. And begins to slowly tug it from the ground...
Nearby, Kaelroc finds a long, dead birch trunk and rips it from the mud, its roots tearing free with a squelching pop. It is thicker and shorter than might have been preferable but will nonetheless serve its purpose. As Mimzy gathers the supplies in her bag of holding, the rest of you work on fastening the ice raft to the rear end of the broom. The structure is stable enough to support the goliath and pup's combined weight.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mender would move to the strange rocks and rub away any mud or sand with his hand. After inspecting then ro determine if he recognizes them as anything rare or valuable he would scoop them up in his arms and move to place them in the boat. surfacing nearby he would toss them into the ice craft.
Kaelroc aboard the ice raft and pup secured aboard. Pushes with his makeshift pole made of an uprooted tree. Slowly pushing from the shallows, awaiting Mugwort's tug on the rope that has been fastened to the magic broom.
As he drifts from the shore, he enjoys watching Mender surface with random objects and periodically approach to refreeze his vessel.
And so, the four of you set out across the lake. It is a cool morning with very little wind to disturb the damp air, and silent - so silent here on the water, in fact, that even a whisper seems to perforate the stillness. All around you, mayflies dance to their own ritual rhythms and black herons stalk in-and-out of shadows.
You carry on in a Southeastern direction for several hours as the sun rises higher into the sky, with the kobold re-casting his spell regularly to maintain the raft. Due to a few factors, several rolls are required:
- a CON save from each member - a d100 (one will suffice) - a perception check from Mender as he actively searches the lake for clams.

A calm, clear day floating ice across a bog... how could it get any better out in the marshlands. :D
As Mimzy observes her companions as busy as bees she finds herself very impressed with their ingenuity and teamwork!
