(OOC: @Aaggie, @Painted_Beyond - Assuming that nothing interrupted us, we're up to round 6 and ready for Avery and Khessa to attack drider #2. It's down the hall a bit, so I think we have to assume that they were both moving into position starting in round 5.)
Seeing the monster wriggle free from the entangling vines again, Xanrym realizes that they don't have a good way to keep it in the burning oil. Even injured, it's dangerous, and it's going to attack The Company. He tries to disrupt it by mocking it in Elvish, "Spider-Elf, you thought to feast on flies, but you've disturbed a swarm of wasps instead." Then he backs away to put more distance between him and the spider and perhaps find some cover behind the body of the other drider.
Movement: Xanrym is already 30-ft away from the drider, but he saw how they can run along the walls and ceiling of the tunnel. He moves away from it and tries to find at least Half Cover behind drider 1's corpse. Action: Cast spell Vicious Mockery, WIS 16 save or target takes 9 (psychic) damage and has disadvantage on the firstattack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
Avery's second attack slams into the Drider, while both of Coriana's Blasts hit it. It is then able to shake off Xanrym's mockery while it makes it's next move, screaming in a hellish language. I first casts Web on the ground in front of it, aiming for Avery and Khessa:
the Drider is currently in melee with Khessa and Avery while they are all caught her web.
(OOC: @drumdigby - Khessa is restrained by the Web, but based on the saving throws, I guess Avery is only affected by the Difficult Terrain that they create.)
(OOC: Wondering if the Fireball ignited the oil and did any additional damage)
(OOC: Yes, I was just going to ask. Fireball says: "It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried." Therefore, it should have lit the oil on fire. If the Drider didn't move out of that space, it should have taken 5(fire) damage for ending its turn in round 7 in the burning oil.)
[[ OOC: Yes, Khessa is Blurry, so thanks for the reroll! ]]
Khessa, focused on reading the Drider's movements to avoid its attacks, is caught off guard by the magical web strands that begin to form all around her and gets tangled up.
The vicious hybrid tries to take advantage of the situation to strike her: one stab is off target, another is stopped by the shining armor, the third finds a gap between the metal plates... but the magical protection Syllen had previously conferred reduces the wound to a barely visible scratch. [[ OOC: Meaning, most of the damage is absorbed by the temporary HP ]].
The tall adventuress, as she tries to free herself from the web, smiles confidently at her opponent, hoping to keep him focused on herself: "You'll have to do better than this, you miserable male mock of Lolth!"
[[ OOC: Khessa uses her Action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against the web save DC. If she succeeds, she is no longer Restrained. ]]
Khessa's Athletics: 16 If neeeded, she will use Tactical Mind to add another 3 (Just tell me if needed, for if not needed or if does not turns the failure into a success the use is not expended)
Finally free from the magical webbing, Khessa confidently faces the monster. Her confident smile bodes not well for the 'miserable male mock of Lolth'...
(OOC: But did Khessa even need to use her action to get free? Unless the Drider's Web does not require concentration, it should have made a bunch of concentration saves after our attacks last round.)
Avery's attack: Attack: 9 Damage: 14; Attack: 26 Damage: 14
Coriana fires off some blasts and brings the tentacle up for a back row attack.
EB: Attack: 20 Damage: 7 force
EB: Attack: 26 Damage: 10 force
Tentacle: Attack: 8 Damage: 10 cold
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
Round 7: Xanrym
Seeing the monster wriggle free from the entangling vines again, Xanrym realizes that they don't have a good way to keep it in the burning oil. Drider WIS Save: 21
Avery's second attack slams into the Drider, while both of Coriana's Blasts hit it. It is then able to shake off Xanrym's mockery while it makes it's next move, screaming in a hellish language. I first casts Web on the ground in front of it, aiming for Avery and Khessa:
Avery DC 14 DEX Save: 23
Khessa DC 14 DEX Save: 2
It then stabs at Khessa with three of it's forelegs, with advantage due to Restrain:
Foreleg against Khessa Attack: 12 Damage: 13 Piercing
Foreleg against Khessa Attack: 22 Damage: 10 Piercing
Foreleg against Khessa Attack: 23 Damage: 11 Piercing
You all are up, the Drider is currently in melee with Khessa and Avery while they are all caught her web.
(OOC: Khessa cast blur on herself so I think all of the attacks should be straight rolls.)
(OOC: Wondering if the Fireball ignited the oil and did any additional damage)
(OOC: @drumdigby - Khessa is restrained by the Web, but based on the saving throws, I guess Avery is only affected by the Difficult Terrain that they create.)

Theldrin steps up next to Syllen and Coriana, then carefully aims a Fire Bolt at the Drider.
Attack: 19 Damage: 2
Yep the oil sets alight and hurts the Drider
I'll just re-roll those attacks one's against Khessa:
14
8
23
Syllen will summon Radiant energy and aim it at the Drider. Syllen uses bardic inspiration to get a +6 to his attack.
Action: Guiding Bolt Hit: 22 Damage: 15 Radiant (On a hit gives advantage to the next attack roll.)

Oh, I was almostr forgetting: Khessa's Concentration, since she has been hit after all: 24
No need for Tactical Mind, you are free.
[[ OOC: She is still Blurry, definitely! ]]
Finally free from the magical webbing, Khessa confidently faces the monster. Her confident smile bodes not well for the 'miserable male mock of Lolth'...

Avery will keep fighting: Attack: 18 Damage: 14; Attack: 25 Damage: 14
