The clerics in the Temple of the Far Horizon are happy to answer Xanrym's questions. Clerics of the Dweller on the Horizon travel to exotic lands, bless caravans, scout for armies, and record their experiences for others to learn from. They act as translators and diplomats, and help in the construction of roads, bridges, and hard-wearing shoes. Strider Silvain is one such diplomat, heavily involved in politics abroad.
Toska takes a little while to calm down, but eventually comes to understand what has happened. Vinme stays by her side and comforts her, as does Strider Silvain. She thanks you all for everything you've done, "I thought we were cursed when we met that night in the inn. But it seems i've been blessed by multiple gods to have met and befriended you all. Thank you so much for this, there's nothing I can do to repay you." Eventually Vinme asks Toska the question of what her plans are next, and she turns to you "Well, St. Cuthbert would have me continue to travel, bringing light to the evil hidden in darkness. I feel i've gathered the confidence to continue on that path, but there is a part of me that doubts it somewhat. Do you think I should continue on my path of righteousness?"
"Take your time," Theldrin says with an encouraging smile. "You don't have to decide quite yet." He turns to take note of what Abramo is doing, and ponders what the party should do with the priest.
Toska....thanks you all for everything you've done, "I thought we were cursed when we met that night in the inn. But it seems i've been blessed by multiple gods to have met and befriended you all. Thank you so much for this, there's nothing I can do to repay you."
Xanrym reassures her on that front: "You already have, Toska! You were brave and steadfast in the face of those vile cultists and terrible monsters. Without you, I don't think that the rest of us would have survived the fight against the harpy, much less the naga. We're just glad that you're OK."

I feel i've gathered the confidence to continue on that path, but there is a part of me that doubts it somewhat. Do you think I should continue on my path of righteousness?"
Xanrym agrees with Theldrin: there's no need for Toska to decide now. She should rest a few days and see how she feels once she has had time to think and recover.
(OOC: If a new player wants to take over Toska as a PC, then I guess she'll end up joining The Company. If not, it would certainly be good to have an NPC cleric as a strong ally, especially if she continues to rise in the ranks of her religious order!)

They act as translators and diplomats, and help in the construction of roads, bridges, and hard-wearing shoes. Strider Silvain is one such diplomat, heavily involved in politics abroad.
Xanrym is interested. He talks about his vague plans to write a book (or books), and he expects that The Company of the Grey Chain may eventually take him across the Flanaess, possibly all the way to the Great Kingdom in the east or beyond the Hell Furnaces to the Sea of Dust or even all the way to the Bitter North. If the party is in the City of Greyhawk for a few days, Xanrym will stop in to the Temple of the Far Horizon every day just to check in and talk with them about their work and what news they've heard lands near and far.
But Xanrym does eventually turn the conversation back to Abramo. He asks the clerics of Fharlanghn whether there's anything that they can do: "Abramo was once the head priest at the Temple of Merikka in Orlane and the spiritual leader of that village and surrounding farmers. He must have fallen under the naga's spell and was probably forced to commit evil deeds against his will. He is free from the naga's influence now, but he has not recovered the way the other enchanted townspeople did. I suspect that he was one of the first to be dominated by the naga's magic and was under her spell longer than anyone else in Orlane. We fear that the experience may have driven him mad. Is there anything you could do for him? Or do you know of anyone who might be able to redeem him and heal his mind? It is sad to see a formerly great man reduced to such a state, but I fear to leave him alone. I worry that he might harm others or even himself while he's not in his right mind."
Strider Silvain seems to be taking an interest in Abramo. He looks the man up and down and when Xanrym explains what's happened to him he nods his head. Silvain responds, "It seems this man is in need of a minder, someone to lead him back to his calling. I have much respect for Merikka and know that this man may have a role yet to play in her grand plans. If you wish, I could take him with me unto the Horizon. Of course, young Toska here could come as well, perhaps I could help her find a path too." Toska seems agreeable.
Silvain looks at you, he seems happy either way, but is willing to take both clerics with him on his travels.
"Ah, that sounds like an excellent idea," Theldrin says hopefully, after seeing Toska's reaction. He's particularly glad to have potentially found a solution to the problem of what to do with Abramo.
Avery also nods in agreement. "Albramo has been through much, and it would be a noble deed to return him to his chosen path, to right his mind from what he has seen and been through."
Xanrym agrees: "Yes, if you're willing, Strider Silvain. I think that it's better than sending him back to Orlane where the sights may remind him of the nightmare of the last--well--probably many weeks. Perhaps the road will be good for him, and visiting new places may help him turn his mind to new, Good Works that he can do."
Xanrym is happy to let Toska choose her own path now. On the other hand, if Strider Silvain plans to leave right away, Xanrym thinks that Toska should not go with him. He's certain that she needs time to rest and recover before she's ready for a long journey, especially with someone whose title is "strider"!
Strider Silvain will agree to wait in Greyhawk one more day, but then he will head off with Toska and Abramo. Toska thanks you all again for what you've done for her and will assure you she will remain with Silvain until she has fully recovered. Vinme also takes her leave, asking you all to visit the Church of St. Cuthbert again soon, heroes are always welcome there.
After everyone has bid farewell to Toska, that all but concludes the adventure for now. You all have some time off to complete your own interests in the City of Greyhawk. Anyone who has anything they want to do can message me, either in this chat or privately, and you can do it in Greyhawk. I'd be willing for the characters to take up to 3 months of adventuring if they had long quests they wanted to go on.
The only other thing I want to know is: How does Liarin bid farewell to the group?
As the party regroups after Toska's resurrection, Theldrin fishes a gnarled piece of wood from his coat pocket and offers it to Liarin. Holding it up in the sunlight filtering down the stone walls bordering the city street, one can see it looks somewhat like a bear. "Well, it's nothing much but I thought of you when I found this," he says with a smile, then adds, "I'm not much for goodbyes, but I suppose we'll soon be parting ways.... once again, it's been an honor." He sighs and then looks around at the group, then says softly, "I think I'll head back to the Unearthed Arcana today, if anyone would like to join me."
Avery looks to the group. "I was thinking of selling some of my old gear, perhaps upgrading my armor. Making taking in some of the sites here int he city. What shall all our illustrious company do now?"

(OOC: Bringing over some content from the OOC thread.)
Now that Toska has been raised from the dead, Xanrym will finally take a break. He returns to the High Tower Inn and orders a hot bath. He's eager to finally scrub off the stink of the swamp.
After his bath, Xanrym closes himself in his room and divides up the gold and other treasure that The Company of the Grey Chain acquired during their adventures around Orlane. After paying to have Toska raised from the dead, the party still has:
The next day, Xanrym tries to find out how much the jade statue and the necklace are worth.
Xanrym can head to the Artisan's Quarter and find a 'legitimate' fence for the two items. He's offered 350gp for the statue and 300gp for the necklace.
After finding a fence for these two items, Xanrym returns to the High Tower Inn to finally divide the treasure. Avery, Liarin, Theldrin, and Xanrym get an equal share of 605 gp + 5 sp each.
Xanrym purchases a few sacks so that he can keep each member's share separate. If someone wants to keep either the necklace or the statue, they can subtract the equivalent value from their share. Otherwise, we'll just sell those items. When Xanrym is ready with the accounting, he gathers everyone together so that they can get their share of the treasure.
After that, I guess Liarin finally departs for the wilderness, hopefully leaving behind her staff.
(Of course, if Avery and Theldrin prefer, they can leave their sacks of treasure in the locked (and trapped) chest in Xanrym's room, just taking what they need with them each day for their errands into the city.)
Xanrym is happy to keep his rooms at the High Tower Inn for at least the first week they're in the Free City. He's enjoying having some money to spend and finally purchases studded leather armor, getting rid of his old torn and filthy armor. He purchases a second set of clothes, somewhat finer than his existing set, and has the original clothes cleaned and mended. He checks with Avery and Theldrin on their plans, but Xanrym plans to stay in the Free City for a couple of weeks while they figure out what the Company of the Grey Chain should do next. A few things that he spends his time during that first week:
Xanrym visits the Temple of the Far Horizon every day to talk to the priests, see how their work is going, and inquire about any news from distant parts.
He takes some time to see the (less rough) parts of the Free City just to get more familiar with the various Quarters.
He tries to have lunch at a different tavern every day, telling a portion of the story of the adventures of the Company of the Grey Chain at each one and suggesting that the Company is looking for new jobs where their services and skills could be useful (and would be appropriately compensated!).
In the evenings, he sits in the common room of the High Tower Inn and enjoys reading one of his books by the light of a candle or -- if he's also still at the inn -- Theldrin's Light.
Xanrym goes with Theldrin to see Morley at Unearthed Arcana.
Xanrym lets Morley know that the Company is in possession of a vial of Black Dragon Wyrmling blood and some feathers (and claws) of the arch-harpy Araphise. They may be willing to sell or trade some of those items if Morley hears of any interested buyers.
Liarin looks very uncomfortable after Tisha is raised, but eventually blurts out, “Goodbye!”
”I mean, I’m sorry, I know we’ve made quite a team, but ultimately, the woods are my home and I must make my way back. I leave Asclepius behind, as the presence of such a large unnatural predator could disturb the land I’m trying to protect.”
She accepts more liquid treasure as she can use it to fund her travels and get supplies.
