Round 2: Xanrym
CON save: 14 (in game log) to maintain concentration on heroism
One of the goblins' arrows strikes Xanrym. He grunts, but he's a bit more battle-hardened after his experiences in Orlane.
Seeing the goblin archers rushing toward him and worried about what could have driven these 5 goblins into their camp in the middle of the night, Xanrym seeks to end this fight quickly. Before the two goblins can reach him, he casts a twinned [Tooltip Not Found] at the two goblins approaching him. If that kills them or causes them to run away, he'll stay where he is, ready to use his crossbow next round. If either goblin holds its ground and is still alive, he drops the crossbow and draws his rapier. He calls out to his companions: "What were these goblins running from?"
Movement: None. Remaining roughly where he is. Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers the 2 goblins attacking him, spending 1 sorcery point on Twin Spell. WIS 13 save or take 15 psychic damage and immediately use its reaction, if available, to safely move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym. On a successful save: 7.5 psychic damage and no forced movement. Free Action: Talking. Possibly drawing his rapier.
The goblins prove to be slippery, neither Liarin’s nor Theldrin’s attacks can meet their mark. These goblins are hard fighters and clearly wish to be through this particular fight as quickly as possible. When Liarin turns into a bear they all freak out slightly, but Greechak keeps his warriors in line, screaming at them in goblinoid.
You all feel a chill come over you as the air around becomes thicker. From the edge of the clearing comes a figure, green skinned and with dead black eyes and long claws. Similar looking to the ghouls you faced in Orlane, but somehow more refined, like a proud dead ranger. The ghouls sees you all then speaks, “These goblins have stolen from the Ghostlord, their lives are forfeit. You others may leave in peace if you wish. We only intend to finish these ones and return to our land.” The ghoul speaks in a grizzly voice, deep with decay.
New Initiative:
Group 1: Avery and Xanrym
Group 2: Greechak and the goblins
Group 3: The ghoul
Group 4: Liarin and Theldrin
Avery and Xanrym are up. Xanrym can of course redo his turn with this new development. The ghoul stands at the edge of the clearing waiting for a response while the goblins look back and forth between the ghoul and you all.

One of the goblins' arrows strikes Xanrym. He grunts, but he's a bit more battle-hardened after his experiences in Orlane. He maintains concentration on his spell.
Xanrym calls out to the ghoulish creature: "If we leave, can you prevent these goblins from following us?" He doesn't want to disengage only to have the goblins chasing him or firing arrows at the party. With the two goblin archers so close, Xanrym seeks to end this fight quickly. Before any goblins can reach him, he casts a twinnedDissonant Whispers at the two goblins that fired arrows at him. If that kills them or causes them to run away, he'll stay where he is, ready to use his crossbow next round. If either goblin holds its ground and is still alive, he drops the crossbow and draws his rapier.
Movement: None. Remaining roughly where he is. Action: Cast spell (LVL 1 slot) Dissonant Whispers the 2 goblins attacking him (spending 1 sorcery point on Twin Spell). WIS 13 save or take 9 psychic damage and immediately use its reaction, if available, to safely move as far as its speed allows away from Xanrym. On a successful save: 4 psychic damage and no forced movement. Free Action: Talking. Possibly drawing his rapier.
Both goblins hear the whispers in their head. One immediately drops to the ground, its small brain unable to cope with the horror. The other clutches it’s head and runs back into the clearing with the others, screaming.
Seeing the power of Xanrym’s spell, Greechak looks at you, the ghoul, and then the rest of his crew. He yells at you in common, “No! Side with us against the undead. We’ve got treasure, items stolen from their lair deep in the forrest.” He looks around desperately.

Oh ok cool. So the goblins and ghoul need to go first and then those turns happen. Goblins first. Greechak yells at his people in goblin and they all run to face the ghoul.

The goblins slash mercilessly into the ghoul, hacking away parts of it. It seems as though Greechak and his crew are going to make short work of it when the ghoul smiles, “Like I said, your lives are forfeit to the Ghostlord.” And the ghoul clicks its claws together.
From the darkness behind the ghoul two tree shadows start to dance into the light cast rise up from the ground and hang in the air like two people floating, they reach out and attack the goblins from behind as the ghoul opens it’s horrible mouth and bites at Greechak.

Shadow 2 strength drain against Goblin 2 Attack: 16 Damage: 11 Necrotic plus its Strength score goes gown by 3
Both goblins go down in shrieks of pain. Their muscles atrophying as the strength is sucked right out of them. Greechak looks around in horror as he sees his compatriots whither and die around him, knowing he’ll be next.
Again, I’ll let everyone take their turn again if they want. So your all up, Greechak and the last remaining goblin are surrounded by the undead.

Round 3: Xanrym
Xanrym is horrified by the way the Shadow things kill the two goblins. He grips his crossbow tightly and keeps it aimed at one of the shadows. He's not sure whether it would do any good, but he's also not sure whether any of his magic would be effective against undead like that.
(OOC: Does Xanrym recognize what theses undead are? And, in particular, does he know whether they're affected by psychic damage. It's the same bonus for him whether it's Nature or Arcana: 9.)
Xanrym dares to speak to the creatures, "Who or what is this 'Ghostlord'? I ask so that we may avoid offending him and suffering the same fate as these poor goblns."
Movement: None Action: ready an attack against one of the Shadows, Crossbow, Light (80/320): 16, Damage: 6 (piercing) Trigger: only if the ghoul or shadows harm someone in their party Free Action: Talking
Theldrin's eyes widen and he licks his lips nervously as he see the shadows appear and attack the goblins, but still stands his ground and keeps his spell readied.
The ghoul responds to Xanrym, “Our master does not punish those who don’t interfere with his land. Stay away from the deep Dim Forrest, and you will not encounter our kind again.”
Liarin is yet to take a turn. The goblins are being killed by the undead, and your compatriots are tactfully staying back.

Greechak looks at you all. First pleadingly, then with rage. “Fine.” He then rallies his last remaining soldier with a goblin battle cry, they attack the ghoul.

Despite clearly being worried about the ghoul, Greechak hasn’t forgotten he’s facing down a knight. He rolls out of the way of the attack.
Xanrym is up, facing down two goblins in front of him, as well as seeing the confrontation happening in the clearing.
(OOC: Yikes! I think that Xanrym will largely stick with his action.)
