The massive wolf seems ready to attack Red but, before it can do so, Krog comes in to view. The momentary distraction is all that Red needs to scurry away and hide among the trees.
With its intended meal lost and an obvious threat so close at hand, the wolf lunges at the paladin with a snarl...

Zeke broaden his stance, throws back his shoulders, and bellows in his deep voice, “To the Nine Hells with you, beast!” He cast his Guiding Bolt level 1 spell.
He then moves to stand near (preferably between Krog and the wolf) or over Krog to protect his downed companion.

The radiant beam strikes the Dire Wolf's side, singeing it's fur with holy light but doing no appreciable damage to the thick hide underneath.
(Metagame: a 13 isn't enough to beat the Dire Wolf's armor class, but is higher than 10+ it's dexterity bonus. I'm using a description of the action that reflects the fact that the creature didn't avoid the attack but is still unharmed by it.)

Alistair watches with horror, heart hammering against his ribs, as he sees Krog crumple to the forest floor, the monstrous dire wolf pinning him down with a gnashing maw inches from his throat. A surge of terror threatens to paralyze him, but instinct takes hold. He coolly and calmly grabs his lute, his fingers fly across the strings conjuring a melody, a spark of magic. He slams a discordant chord on his lute, the jarring sound echoing like a cruel laugh. His voice, laced with vicious mockery, rips through the clearing. "Is that all you've got, you fell beast?" he taunts, his voice laced with a dangerous edge. "A lame baby lamb couldn't put up less of a fight! Where's the terror in your eyes, wolf? All I see is a flea-bitten mutt begging for a good kicking!"1
Without missing a beat, Alistair transitions to a gentle, soothing melody. The air shimmers as Alistair pours his focus into the song, the raw lyrics ripped from his very soul. "Krog, bear strong! From shadows deep, a healing word I keep!" The music pulses with a restorative light, washing over the groaning half-orc, a counterpoint to the dire wolf's snarls. 6
With everything happening in a split second, seeing his comrade bloodied and unconscious fills Brockes with the Rage that keeps him moving. He quickly moves besides the beast and lifts his greataxe for the attack.
(OOC: Issues with the post dice so used the character sheet... and ouch. Lol.)
Feeling Alistair’s healing word flow over him, he sees the legs of the great beast. Krog rises, stands, and swings his longsword at the beast. ATT 16 DMG 4
(OOC-I did not go back into the post above. Very strange that it has the manipulated warning. Krog missed with an 11. I think I will go back to rolling from the character sheet.)

Seeing Krog raising up Red was relieved , for a moment he thought that his pour scouting will cost the life of one of his new comrades. With a sake of his head Red cleared his head. There was only one thing that matters right know. With practice motions Red took out his bow and took aim, he could not miss this shoot. Without thanking his eye from the target he pulled the string all the way and took a steading breath before realising the string. Without looking to see if his hit was a success he started moving a second before the arrow left. He run strait down 25 feets.
Krog, weakened by his injuries but undaunted, rises to his feet and redoubles his attack. Unfortunately the hilt of his sword, slick with sweat or blood, twists slightly in his hand preventing the blade from striking true...
From his concealed position, Red is able to take careful aim before loosing his arrow against the raging and ravenous beast. The shot flies true and sinks into the creature's flesh where the shoulder meets the neck...
The Dire Wolf, finding it's path to both the wounded Half-Orc and the Halfling archer obstructed by Zeke, lunges at the dwarf with wildly snapping jaws...
(Attack: 7 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll., on a successful hit, Strength save vs DC 13 or be knocked prone)
Zeke stands strong against the attack and laughs at the thought that he distracted the beast from attacking a different member of the party.
Roll 20+2=22
At the same time, Zeke appears to be offended that the wolf thought he might make for a meal. Drawing upon his strength and faith he uses his War Priest bonus action to attack the wolf twice with his Warhammer. Caught off guard by Zeke’s intensity and possibly distracted by Zeke’s bushy beard, mustache, and even eyebrows billowing due to exertion, the wolf suffers a direct hit on his second swing.
(Because we have some new players, and I'm not sure who has read what, I'm going to take a moment to walk you through Zeke's second attack. Bill rolled a 20 on his attack roll, a critical hit, aka a "Natural 20" or "Nat 20". This has two mechanical effects. First, the attack automatically hits regardless of the target's armor class. Second, he gets to roll his damage dice twice and add them together. For Zeke's damage, Bill rolled 1d8 [2] + 1d8 [6] +2 [damage modifier from strength] for a total of 10 damage)

Zeke, Alistair, & Brockes are up.
It looks like Krog is down from the Dire Wolf's attack. Not dead, but dying (looks pointedly at the cleric).
(Bravery and stupidity go hand in hand.) I think Krog got a strike in as well. (No need to roll for a trip. Krog is prone and unconscious.)
(Ooc: slight change of plans)
Zeke broaden his stance, throws back his shoulders, and bellows in his deep voice, “To the Nine Hells with you, beast!” He cast his Guiding Bolt level 1 spell.

Yes. Krog successfully landed his attack.
Attack and Damage rolls for the spell, please.

Attack: 7
(saving throw against Vicious Mockery, DC 13, 14)
Brockes' swing goes far wide of it's mark and he only barely stops the axe from crashing hard into the ground and burying the blade in the dirt.
Meanwhile Krog, feeling the life slipping from his body, is suddenly jerked back to consciousness by Alistair's spell.
The Dire Wolf howls in agony as the magic of Alistair's words pierce its very mind.
