[We'll kick along for now. Assume that Gregory rolled a Nat 1, making him dead last. Asher also speaks Draconic, yes, but it's newer than what the Kobolds are speaking. That said, his knowledge of the language does grant him a few extra words.]
As the raiders draw near, Asher can make out a few more key terms:"Blessed." "Servants." "Lord."and"Lizard."
Moments later, a third strike (K), this time at Lelantus, comes from his right, the dagger sinking into his right arm. [5 damage]
Something else is going on. Between individual strikes, the party notices several of the raiders are simply sidling about, keeping their eyes on the adventurers, but doing nothing to attack. There's clearly more at play here than simple slaughter... oh, but no time to consider that now...!
The next swing (L) aims for Asher, but the blade itself falls balefully short. [miss!]
Similarly, the following swing (D) only grazes Quartz, leaving a shallow cut on his calf. [Log says 3, but I say no modifiers on a graze, so it's only 1 damage]
Caught off-guard, Gregory is struck from his left by a particularly brutal stab (E), driving right between his ribs. Not yet recovered from his previous injuries, he doubles over in shock. [5 damage]
[Quartz is up!]
[Feel free to check the map for your nearest target. I'm pretty sure you can move your pieces too.]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
<@DM: Can you post a link for the map. I still see the previous one in owlbear. (Sorry if I missed the new one)>
Quartz will cast entangle on as many as he can get his 20ft square aoe around.
Feeling a bit woozy from his injuries, he calls to the nature spirits (healing word (BA), whose presence he can still feel, if faintly, within this defiled forest with an entreaty for healing energy. Within a moment he feels it suffuse his body, (restoring 7 hp)
[It's the same map. I'll just be adding to it over time. Seems a little stupid, I know, but I only have access to two grids. You'll notice fifteen shapes surrounding the party, all lettered.]
Various roots and vines emerge from the earth, snaring several of the raiders. Some appear angrier than others at this. Two in particular seem to struggle fiercely. One breaks free.
[F remains trapped, G breaks free]
[Korbiña's up! Remember to adjust your hp for damage taken.]
[Remember the grid is closer than it looks. Your spell pretty much covers everyone. Everyone else should roll a Strength save before their turn. If you roll below your save, you can use your action to try again.]

" this is not looking good for us but we can still prevail "

[Rolls by enemies can be seen in the log. I'm only posting damage]
The first strike comes from the creature (A) nearest Korbiña, a downward stab that pierces her leg!
[4 damage]
Just as the first makes contact, a second raider (B) slings one of it's stones straight for Quartz, striking him square on his shoulder. [5 damage]
[C is idle]
The next swing (L) aims for Asher, but the blade itself falls balefully short. [miss!]
Similarly, the following swing (D) only grazes Quartz, leaving a shallow cut on his calf. [Log says 3, but I say no modifiers on a graze, so it's only 1 damage]
[M is idle]

<A-ha. I did not previously zoom out/pan down and to the right. Got it.>
I think i can catch H,M,J,K,L and hopefully avoid Lelantus.
[Snared: A, C, L, F, G, and I]
Various roots and vines emerge from the earth, snaring several of the raiders. Some appear angrier than others at this. Two in particular seem to struggle fiercely. One breaks free.
[F remains trapped, G breaks free]
[Korbiña's up! Remember to adjust your hp for damage taken.]
(Sorry, that's a Str 14 save vs restrained and the area is difficult terrain.)
[Remember the grid is closer than it looks. Your spell pretty much covers everyone. Everyone else should roll a Strength save before their turn. If you roll below your save, you can use your action to try again.]
Check #432. That's 20ft square per the map, itself.
(Also, access to drawing tools would be nice. That's a green post-it note.)
[Try it now]
Functional. Same area, reduced opacity, blue edges to highlight perimeter.
(@all FYI: Quartz is at 13/15 hp. 🙂)
[For this one, just go with the assumption it hit everyone and I'll be more careful about this in the future. Sorry for any confusion]
(adjusted hp; STR save: 7)
